He had ever right to cancel , but he didn't. He was even 30 minutes early! That day children shared smiles, laughter and memories. We're new to CL and my daughters wanted to take dance lessons. Being a new dance mom (so exciting,…read moreright?) I didn't know what to expect. We signed up for Hip Hop and ballet at All That Dance and had a terrible experience since day 1. My daughter would leave class each day, crying. She said the girls were being mean to her and the teacher would do nothing about it. Fine. I get it, that's not 100% the teacher's job, so I made my daughter suck it up and continue on. But then the owner, Ellen, is very disorganized. Limited mode of communication on big events, important dates, and will call you out in front of God and everyone if you are behind in a payment. We were behind on $48 because we didn't realize the month was prorated and she shared it out in front of all of the parents and kids. That is not professional. You pull the parent to the side and tell them OR send a statement (printed) in the mail or physically hand it to them. Not all parents are stuck to their email. If you are like me, Gmail shows 1,000 missed messages. ....and don't get me started on the disorganization of the dance photos - missing accessories, and hair accessories that did not compliment my daughter's ethnic hairstyle. I also feel like what my daughter learned was subpar...but it could be the first time dance mom in me...I don't have much expectations. This company may be best for some, but not for us due to our experience.

The owner, Eileen, knows every student's name and treats them with kindness and respect. As a parent, I am consistently included and asked for my input. One of our favorite parts of this studio is that there are many different kinds of dance classes to explore. As my daughter progressed, she got trained in ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, and hip-hop. Now as a high schooler who loves being involved in the plays and musicals, she is highly equipped to handle any form of dance they throw at her. In fact, as a freshmen, she was cast in all the productions at her high school which is rare. I credit the training in dance and poise she received from All That Dance. As a result, our home was filled with soulful sounds only a cello can bring. He also pushed her past her comfort level, demanded more discipline, and been a constant in her life since she was 9 years old. He used a balance of humor and strict commands to bring out the best in her. She has graduated and will now be moving on. We will never forget Mr. Fadrowski and the priceless gift he has given my daughter. Because of him, she will always have the ability to play and share her music.

Both Curt and Shawn are very professional and very quick to respond to any questions. When you call them, an actual person answers (it was always either Curt or Shawn when I called). I bought the 4 Star Wedding package and added an additional performance hour and a set of uplights. Their pricing on the uplights is extremely reasonable, because instead of paying for a separate lighting company and their delivery/setup charge, it was wrapped into the cost of the Stax setup, and they were already coming. Music-wise, you can fill in requests and special songs online ahead of time, and they play them. But they stay on top of current music trends, mixing up old and new songs, and switching between slow and dance stuff. With these guys in charge, there was never any need to force people out to the dance floor. Everyone had an amazing time and kept telling me the DJs were great. Also, they posted some great photos and a video montage on facebook - I wasn't expecting that. A couple important things to know - they do charge an extra fee to come into Chicago (they are in Cary after all) and if there's a hard setup location (lots of stairs, etc). And they only accept cashiers checks, certified checks, or cash for payment. Can't say enough good things about this group!

When it came time for my own wedding, I HAD to call Stax O Wax to see if they would come out here to the boondocks (Sterling...2+ hours from where they are based in Cary). Shawn answered my email almost immediately and sent me their pricelist, which shows the different packages they offer. He was very upbeat and professional the couple of times that I spoke to him, assuring me that it was no problem for them to travel for a wedding or other event. Unfortunately, their asking price was more than we had budgeted for our DJ, so I had to tell him thanks but no thanks but if money had been no object, I would have hired them in a second, including paying the extra money they needed for traveling this far - they are THAT good. Not being able to hire Stax O Wax was really the only disappointment of my wedding, I would definitely suggest them to anyone for any event!
