So obsessed that I HAD to make a Yelp review for this place…read more I honestly don't know if Piedmontese beef is actually healthier for you or not; there are a lot of claims on the internet (mostly from various Piedmontese beef vendors) about the muscular hypertrophy genes causing the cows to have more muscle and lower fat - which would make sense for why they would have less fat per serving than normal cows. Is it healthier than chicken? I'm skeptical, but in the meantime, the fact that it is a potentially healthier alternative and super tasty has me sold. As a New Yorker, I'm used to paying higher than usual prices, but Cannon F Ranch's beef prices are phenomenal even for Arkansas standards considering that it's 1) specialty beef 2) exclusively sold at the Farmers' Market 3) potentially very healthy and 4) very tasty. I can buy oxtails for $5/lb and short ribs for $6/lb. I am sooo sold on this that I have decided to make this my sole beef source my whole year here in Arkansas. (I really wish I could order this for when I'm back in NYC). It helps that their customer service is impeccable; I feel so bad for asking for orders same-day or next-day, but Marie does it with a smile and a friendly, fantastic attitude. It's convenient that I can just text her for an order, but they're also available at the Searcy Farmers' Market on Saturdays 8-12 & most Tuesday afternoons until 6. I can't drive, so I am extremely thankful that Marie delivers all my beef to me. Everything I've made so far with the beef - tangerine beef (flank steak), curry beef puffs (ground beef), oxtail soup (oxtails, duh), galbi jjim (Korean braised short ribs) - has been fantastic. I've asked 2/4 cardiologists that I work with if they've heard of Piedmontese beef; alas, they have not. I will ask the rest of them in time and update this if I get any information from an unbiased source. In the meantime, I'm thrilled to support Cannon F Ranch and I'm really excited to have a potentially healthy beef source for this year when I'm actively trying to eat more healthily.

It all started with asking him about the special of the raisin crunch for $1.98 , y'all had run out; he took my name and home number to call me as soon as it was due back in. And THAT is exactly what he did. Y'all just don't know what kind of imprint that made on me and my husband. Wonderful customer service! My second encounter was with John this past Saturday. Once again it was your sales ad. To make a long story short; John went out of his way to bring me two additional turkey breast at a wonderful price per pound. At the end of my transaction John's final words to me was, " is there anything else I can help you with and do you need any help with your two baskets?" My reply was, "no thank you but thank you for offering." His final words to me as I was leaving your store, " thank you for shopping with us." All doing this from both Kenny and John with a smile. Such a good decision! The servers were nice, the sandwich was amazing and it was the perfect kind of place to stop in for lunch on your own without feeling awkward.
