I made an appointment over the phone for a haircut. I was booked with Faith. I waited about 10 minutes to even be acknowledged by the owner, Sharon as she was on the phone. Once I was helped, Faith got started with my shampoo. The shampoo was accompanied by an awkward (and borderline inappropriate) conversation. My head was not scrubbed at all during the shampoo and after it was done, I still had visible shampoo bubbles in my hair. I told Faith I just wanted a slight trim as I have been growing out my hair for four years and it was the longest it's ever been. Faith got to cutting and let me know she just recently graduated from hair school and was next to the master stylist (Daniel) so he could "watch" her. Which I feel like I should've been told about before the cut. When Faith finished my trim (two hours later) she asked me if I thought it was even.... I am not a hair stylist & I can not see the back of my head so I nervously said I hope so... when I got home, I noticed my hair was extremely butchered. My hair was also incredibly greasy from all of the product that she put in it. I washed it twice and still felt like I had major build up. I had three lengths added to my hair (and didn't have layers to begin with) and a hand full of extremely short pieces that were about CHIN length. I went in with my hair to the middle of my back. After multiple coworkers at my workplace commented on the uneven haircut, I contacted the salon to see if I could get it fixed. They brought me in a few days later to have it fixed. I was shocked that they let Faith touch my hair again after what she did in the first place. The fix barely helped and just made things shorter which I didn't want because I just wanted a trim in the first place. Two weeks of being extremely aggravated with my uneven haircut, I called the salon back to book with their master stylist, Daniel to chop my hair off into a short bob. I explained the situation to the owner and she put me on hold for ten minutes. After ten minutes, she answered and said "hello...hello??" Acting like she couldn't hear me. She hung up and I immediately called back. She did not answer.. I tried to call back three times that day and was sent to voicemail. I ended up going to another fabulous aveda salon in the area to get a chop and they were absolutely incredible and actually told me they have heard the same things happening at this salon! I am overall extremely aggravated that I had to chop my long hair that I worked so hard to grow out, and wasted a total of over $140 total on a trim gone wrong. Daniel was an AMAZING hair stylist- with 30 years experience he gave me a very nice cut and style. The salon is in a very tiny business park? village? subdivision? and parking is difficult. The front desk person shoved me a paper to fill out and then disappeared for a good long while. I had a question and stood at the desk for longer than I wanted before she returned. It's supposed to be a fine spa and it is priced like it and looks like it but I was never offered a drink and I did not feel very welcomed by anyone other than Daniel. $75 for a shampoo, cut and style. In addition, I tipped generously but I don't think I will return. I got the message loud and clear that I'm not the type of customer they are looking for. Too bad - they sell Aveda products and my sister loves that stuff. read more

Wow - I wish I would have seen the previous review before I went in. Im disheartened that they had this feedback already and continue to let this happen. I had a similar experience and now have butchered hair. To be clear, this is not Faith's fault. She's just a kid trying to get started. It's the owner's fault for putting her out there when she is clearly not ready. I booked a partial highlight and gloss with a refresh cut. Really I Just wanted to get rid of my grey. Faith needed Daniel's help (30 minutes of discussion before she we got started) and then started doing my baby lights.... Only they weren't. They were big chunks of hair - think Kelly Clarkson early 2000s. I said something and she started undoing it by spraying with water and wiping the bleach out with a towel. Then got Daniel who explained to her we needed to actually wash it out. After a half wash and then some color to address the greys and add color back to what had bleached out, Daniel went on to show her how to do baby lights and ended up just doing all the foils (saving grace). Then Faith removed foils and washed and did whatever gloss (coached by Daniel). I told her I was growing my hair out and really just a little cleanup cut if she thought my hair really needed it. She's cutting and chatting and seems like a lot of hair coming off but we were clear on less than a 1/2 inch so I didn't say anything. Then onto the blow dry. She added so much product to my very fine hair and then kinda blew it all straight back and kept burning me with the hairdryer. She asked me if I thought it was all dry and I was confused when she was acting done because it was just all blown back like when you take down your ponytail and your hair kinda stays. I tried to run my fingers through and pulled it forward to see it and that was when I saw how bad the cut was. My hair is totally butchered. She layered it up the front and sides. It's a good 3 inches shorter at the ends than when I went in and chunks 4-6 inches shorter than my actual hair length in unwanted layers. Daniel came to try to fix it but you can't uncut hair. And it was so incredibly greasy from all the product. I've washed it a few times now but the cut is a disaster. It'll be more than a year to undo this. Would give them zero stars but it won't let me!! Do NOT GO THERE!!!!!Went for my 5:30 pm appointment tonight, the doors are shut and lights are off. I proceeded to call and left a message. Sat there till 5:30 and nothing!! I never received a call to tell me they were closed! Nothing! I took time off work to get my haircut today! This is not the first time they have done this. My first appointment several years ago, 5 mins before my appointment I received a call saying the person didn't show to work they will need to reschedule me. So I did and gave them a chance to make it right. Now this!! That is 2 out of 3!! I have learned my lesson!! Oh and they went up another $15 from a year ago!!! BS!!! While the woman at the front is kind, she messed up my appointment. I called about a month ago and today was the soonest appointment. I am 38 weeks pregnant and really was looking forward to a haircut! I walked in and the woman I was scheduled with no longer works at the salon. Not worth the money. My stylist was fresh out of school which I did not know ahead of time. She messed up the front of my head with the highlights to the point where it was orange- which I'm a natural blond so idk how that happens. I had to ask her to fix it twice and it still is not fixed. Took 4 hours for a partial highlight and hair trim. The owner was interesting, she told me that I was lucky the stylist didn't have church after work so she was able to fix my hair / stay late. It ended up being $245. I will never go back. read more

The owner made me feel very comfortable when I called and arrived. I showed a picture of my haircut the way I always get my hair cut in Florida! It's an easy Bob. Unfortunately the hairdresser ASHLEY gave me a totally different haircut. The back of my hair is chopped up and layered unlike a Bob cut. One side of the back I told her it needed to be matched to the other and she left it all in a clump. Sides didn't match. Now I'm having to let it all grow out or cut it off. Very sweet hairdresser but unfortunately not a good haircut. I DO NOT recommend her at all. I believe she's new to the salon and looking at all the reviews to this salon I don't see any for her and now I realize why I got in within 2 days. Also I paid $150.00 and there's Noway it was worth it. It did include a color she tried to match my formula I took in and it ended up being a bit red tint but overall not too bad. read more

I was scheduled for an appointment today at 4 pm and received a call from the owner 30 minutes prior when I was enrote driving as stylist needed to back my appointment up an hour due to an issue with his existing client's color taking. I asked what the alternative was. She advised waiting for two weeks for an opening with no reduction in fees of my services to offset my inconvenience. Further, she had no concern for my level of customer satisfaction. Rather, no big deal, I could either graciously accept the one of the two choices she elected to offer or take my business elsewhere which I decided to do. For prices being changed, I don't expect this degree of lack of consideration to me as a client. STAY AWAY!! This salon does not provide anything above and beyond. The owner needs to take a master class on how to treat her clients. I was treated like she was granting a privilege to me to have my hair done there. Very unprofessional coupled with their policy requiring a 48 hour cancellation, yet I was given only 30 minutes. I am confused, they rightly expect consideration of their staff yet a client is not extended the same business relationship courtesy. A lot wrong with this business model. The Cypress Aveda Salon in Holly Springs is the best! I had a haircut and color recently. I had made a big mess with coloring my hair myself and had bands of different colors. Faith, along with head stylist Daniel, gave me the best color ever! It looks amazing and so natural. It is all one gorgeous color that shines and looks healthy and natural. Faith also gave me an amazing haircut. She instinctively knew to cut my hair shorter than the photo I had brought in. She was right! Most hairdressers that I have been to would have cut it even shorter, but she just knew. I was so thankful! Daniel was so incredibly knowledgeable about hair, and would at times step in and make cuts and snippets to my hair that I've never seen before. Even on a windy day, every single strand of hair falls strategically back into place. Honestly, it was the best haircut and color I've ever had, and I am not a young spring chicken.
