Because I have this likely unfounded fear of running out of gas, I normally put in gas with I get to half a tank. However, unfortunately, I did not notice that I inched to one-fourth of tank of gas to on empty. The closest gasoline station was HEB Fuel Gas. I am a creature of habit when it comes to getting gas, however, I was in an emergency situation. So, I stopped to pump gasoline, so I would not be stranded along the highway. While the pump was gushing gas into my car, I proceeded to clean my windshield. Gas and windshield cleaning services...score! Immediately, I noticed that the gasoline price per gallon was $3.27, which is a lot lower than I am used to paying. So I quickly filled up and I was on my way. They also have a full coffee bar on tap that offers a variety of flavors along with a creamer station, they have a frozen drinks slushie station, and a full kitchen offering pizzas, subs, tacos and more. I guess you can say I've been sheltered because I was amazed to see all of this. And to make it even better, the prices are reasonable and not marked up like other gas station prices. I have yet to try any of these items, only gas, but the customer service was great and the place was clean!

As it turned out, on this particular day, the store had run out of the 2/$2 Big Bites, so I upgraded. I got a 1/4 pound Jalapeno and cheese, and a regular 1/4 pound cheese dog. At $1.99 a piece, I blew out my budget, but it was worth it. The have a nice little fixin's bar, which includes chopped raw onions, a pico de gallo-looking substance, and sundry condiments. AND we mustn't forget, on the other counter, the free "chili" and "cheese" toppings! Once again ignoring the fact that I had heart surgery six weeks ago, I throw myself with reckless abandon into the dispensing of the toppings. The dogs themselves were actually not bad. (Remember, I'm a New Yorker, and I grew up on Sabrett and Nathan's famous dogs) They are of course, skinless commercial dogs, but they do have a nice bite, and the jalapeno dog had a great little zing to it. So I'll give these dogs a four. If you're ever around the Lakeline area, and are craving a hot dog, you could do a lot worse than these.

I replied with that locks me into having to return to a Murphy store to use it when I didn't really think that was fair. Then the manager of the location said they would agree to refund me $5.00 (double the amount) in cash but I would have to go to the original location to get it. That sounded fair so I did that. Well I went there on July 10 and the attendant (same one) said the manager told him it was only a $2 refund and expressed his frustration that their management has poor communication. So he gave me $5 cash and said he was sorry. I asked him if the vacuum machine was still broken and he said it was. I asked him if they put an out of order sign on it. He said every time they do, someone removes it. Well I went out to look and of course no sign was visible.
