My dad and many others have been FAILED by Soddy Daisy Nursing Home. What I've been told, and what…read moreI've personally witnessed about this nursing facility that cared for my dad is beyond disturbing; basic care not being met, unsafe conditions and medication mistakes. A former employee of SDHC reached out to me and said they worked there for years and saw both good and bad but also witnessed people getting away with things that shouldn't be ignored. They described management as putting on a front, while behind the scenes being rude, hateful, and mistreating residents. This employee shared what they've seen inside: Residents being neglected. Basic care ignored. Serious incidents never reported. People left sitting in their own waste. Unsanitary conditions. Pest issues. Another employee told me about a medication error involving my dad that nearly cost another resident their life. This resident ended up in the ICU, because they were given my dad's medication. And the most shocking part? That nurse was not fired for making this error. On top of that, that nurse was on probation for a domestic violence charge, at the time, and was working under an expired nursing license. I was under the assumption that they did a background check before they hired someone at SDHC. I guess not. The employee shared that when my dad was sent to a psych facility, he had no behavioral issues at all. But the moment he returned to this nursing home, everything went downhill again. They described him being left alone, ignored, and even found in distressing conditions while staff did nothing. She stated that my dad was overmedicated and left unattended. He was ignored by staff for hours without care. This former employee also told me that when residents with hearing aids wet their bed, employees took their hearing aids away from them. In addition, a resident had a catheter that employees wouldn't empty all day so the resident started doing it herself by emptying it into the trash can. They punished her by not coming to get her for dinner, and she wasn't allowed to do any of the game nights until she stopped. In addition, If a resident had poop on them, instead of getting them out of their wheel chair they would just hose them down while they were crying and screaming continually spraying them just because they had an accident. If you care about your loved one, you will not put them in SDHC, It is the worst nursing home in town.

The dispute was not with Vicki Cooke my former NP, she had never talked to me about it, she was out of town during this time.... I guess it's common practice now to have no say so about your care. Regardless, you discharged me as a patient, fine, I will go someplace else... My complaint, you sent out a certified letter in January, or you say you did, you wouldn't show me the receipts. I never received any letter, why would I have shown up for an appnt if I had received it. I had an appnt scheduled on 6/14 since my last appnt in December of 2017. I received a call to confirm my appointment, I asked to change the appnt to today's date. Yesterday I received a call to confirm my appointment. I came in for my appnt, I was asked to update paper work and then taken back to a room.... It was then I was finally approached about the letter that was "sent" out in January. Vicki Cooke would not even come and talk to me. I was humiliated and all of this was over a dispute with a very rude staff member about antibiotics for a sinus infection. Today I came in with a black eye and a hurt shoulder from a fall yesterday, I thought I was going to have it looked at. . I guess I need to find a new doctor to take a look at it.... My advice to the staff there, if you discharge someone as a patient make sure your staff and the patient knows about it. And to Vicki Cooke, I suggest you take the time to talk to your patients before you make rash, uninformed decisions. I'm truly baffled at this, all over antibiotics for a sinus infection.

I have experienced nothing but kindness and care from Vicki and her staff. It's unusual for a Dr anymore to sit down with you and look you in the eyes and ask how you are doing.... This is a place that cares about their patients.

I was all aboard that train. Westside up for my own Joint Chiropractic membership! I have not regretted it since and if I do not come at least once, twice a week, I don't feel, aligned so to speak. Now, we were special little snowflakes with our billing, so at times we have been billed wrong or not on the right date. That was more of an administrative or clerical error then a mistake on anyone's part and was promptly fixed. It was really nice to work with a place that made sure how you wanted to pay and when worked out for your budget. So at this point on our account, we have myself in my life, and also a 13 year old son. For all three of us with a military discount, it comes out to about $100 a month for 4 visits for each of us and $10 for any additional visit. Front staff is awesome, the doctors themselves I will happily listen to you and explain what and why they're doing what they're doing. Very transparent, very chill and comfortable. They're also all about cleanliness because of Covid.
