I've been coming to Cycle Life for awhile since its opening. Whether you are an avid cyclist, a newbie (like myself), or just wanting to give it a try, Cycle Life is an awesome place to come. First and foremost, you will notice that everyone is very nice and very non-intimidating. I had wanted to try indoor cycling as a fitness alternative to the treadmill, and I found that you could try a class at Cycle Life for free. I figured, why not? It was really easy to sign up for a class - you can do it online and there's an iPhone app in which you can easily register for classes.
The entire staff is very welcoming and accommodating. Forget to bring a towel? That's okay, just grab a clean one when you check in and return it after your class. Not sure how to adjust your bike? Just ask the instructor and they will gladly help you. The indoor cycling instructors are very nice and will certainly help you and show you how to adjust your bikes. Their priority is not just to make sure you get a great workout, but to make sure you do it safely. The bikes are very easy to adjust and doesn't take a lot of muscle to do so. If you're not looking to spend cash on spinning shoes, that's okay because any sturdy cross-trainer will work and you'll be strapped in. Personally, I wear a pair of Asics running shoes and they work great.
As with any workout, you get what you put in to it. So, if you follow along with the instructor, you will get a great workout and a great sweat. But if you can't, or if you're like me, you can back off a little and you won't be judged, yelled at, or asked not to return. The other customers are just as nice as well. For instance, when I started spinning, I probably looked like a newborn calf trying to walk while on the bike. But the instructor worked with me to ease into it so I would learn to cycle safely and efficiently.
The instructors are fun, upbeat, and mix great music (you can even make requests). It's a great 60 minute workout and you'll have a good time. What I particularly like is that you can register for classes all from their app on your phone. Register or cancel classes, whatever you need.
My only gripe is that parking can be a little tight, but a few extra steps never hurt anyone! Also, there is no "locker room" per se, but rather cubbies.
I love coming to Cycle Life!! The staff is great, the studio is very clean, and if I really wanted to take up competitive cycling, I would feel totally comfortable coming here and using the trainers. You'll see the owner around the studio helping customers. In fact, even his dog hangs around bringing smiles and offering wet nose doggy kisses to customers who'd like one. No registration needed for that! read more
