This review isn't necessarily reflective of the employees, or even this location (I know they are just doing their job). More of a reflection of Cycle Gear corporation as a whole. Cycle Gear had always been pretty modestly priced, and I instructed my friends to go there for all their needs over the years. I understand with inflation and everything times are certainly tough and I expect to pay a few bucks more. But these last couple of times I have been there have been really disappointing. Mainly because of what I consider a form of price gouging. For example: I recently went in for a tire mount/change. This used to cost $20-30 per tire not long ago. It is now $50 per tire, PLUS $5 tire recycle fee. Not only that, you must get a new tube with each tire installed (corporate policy). My tubes in my old tires were fairly new and barley used (as I had a couple flats not long ago). I'm all about safety, but I find this policy to be a bit ridiculous. Being in a time crunch, I grudgingly complied and bought their severely overpriced tubes as well (which would have cost me a third as much on eBay). Later, I looked on the corporate website and found out that if you buy the tires from cycle gear, the tire change is only $25 per tire.....that is a 50% difference! Surely I can understand a small $5-10 discount if you purchase at their store. But, there should not be that much of a difference for labor that is the same. It's sad to say, but I don't think I'm going to go cycle gear anymore unless I absolutely have to. Very disappointed. read more

Great place to get your stuff. Staffers are friendly and helpful. Call before getting there to make sure they have your items there. Jacob, the manger gives 10% discount to First Responders which is a plus. Keeping money local, they can match prices online as well. read more

I understand that it's a difficult time for small businesses due to covid. But I find it unacceptable to be closed due to staffing a year into the pandemic. Took over an hour out of my day dragging my 2 year old from Madera. Makes it difficult to support a local business as I intended. read more

The employees are very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. I've purchased a lot of my gear here. The have a great return policy and their price match program is excellent. They're always honest and provide a lot of useful information. BUT expect to wait, they are always short handed. Highly recommended!!! 11/20/17. Came in today because I had an issue with my Sena 20S. Prices are fair, but the service when you're calling is horrible. They like to answer the phone and hang-up or just let the phone ring.

I have to take back my words from my previous review. The last time I went maybe they were just really busy that day, or they had someone out sick, I don't know. I have gone in two times lately, once to buy something, and once to exchange something. Both times I went in the staff was very helpful and both times I had multiple employees stop and ask if I needed any assistance. When I went back to return an item the guy who helped me out was really cool, and walked over to the gloves section with me and made some recommendations on what to get, and even tried to help me find the best deal possible. I went in last week to buy some boots and that time someone else helped me, but he also made several recommendations to me and tried to keep things within my budget. All in all I am now a fan of this place, the last two times have definitely canceled out the single bad impression I had. The prices for everything is comparable or even cheaper than other places I have gone for gear, but their really good thing is their return policy. I went to exchange a pair of gloves I bought 2 weeks a go, no receipt, and I had been using them for the previous 2 weeks. I explained to the guy that they weren't cutting it for me, he said no problem, went to his computer, and printed out a copy of the receipt. The exchange process was simple as could be, with no headaches what so ever. They have a 100% satisfaction guarantee apparently, so I will probably end up buying a lot more stuff there because of it. read more

I feel obligated to give Cycle Gear 2 Stars because of their outstanding customer service and excellent return policy. Unfortunately they only get two because no matter how amazing the staff, it doesn't justify the pricing. I purchased a $120 Gorilla 8017 Alarm. If I would have purchased it a Cycle Gear it would have cost me $299.00 A Sena Dual Bluetooth Intercom System $298.00..... Or if purchased from Cycle Gear would have cost me $399.00 I don't understand the insane markups, but it explains how they stay in business even with this economy. Cycle Gear has a good selection, an outstanding staff, a great return policy but it doesn't cut it. Would you pay $60 to have a taxi drive you 1 mile just because the driver was nice? Haven't been to Cycle Gear in a while. I was in need of a helmet liner for track day with a group of friends this Saturday and this place was reliable once again for me. Oh, how I miss riding motorcycles! If ever you riders need anything quick. Please hold off shopping online and check out this local place first. This seems to be one of the last retail places where employees are upbeat, helpful, and knowledgeable. Instead of reading off a box to answer my questions, they actually know what's inside the box. A young man named Trevor was supremely patient with me when I was deciding what helmet to buy. He spent a LOT of time with me on all the details and nuances of the different brands and styles of helmets. And his knowledge extended to other things that I eventually bought there. Other staff helped me over the past few weeks and all were friendly, super helpful, and seemed to truly like working there. CycleGear could be considered a big box store. But they got it right with the corporate culture because it feels like a local mom and pop. Some have written that they have had to wait to be helped. This has been true for me, too. But given the choice between an employee that is not-too-smart, hates his or her, job, or has a bad attitude...I'm happy to wait a bit. Someone wrote about the prices being high. I didn't find that at all here. The trick, I guess, is to get things on sale. Then again, for me, I'm happy to pay more for my own personal motorcyle consultant. CycleGear Fresno is # 1 in my book. read more

Purchased a helmet and gloves for my grandson. I asked the gentleman at the register for help. He was very helpful picking out the helmet. I returned to the register area to pay for the helmet and gloves. I would have gave him 5 stars, but I was a little turned off by the last minute high pressure up sell attempts on the customer ahead of me in line at the register. read more

cycle gear is a great shop for motorcycle clothes and accessories, and is super helpful. i've purchased many items there, and have had to return a few as well. they have a policy of, essentially, if it's not screwed up/torn/broken you can return it for whatever price they're selling it at now. even without a receipt. today, i went there to return some gear bought about a month ago. we had lost the receipt, and they still gave us a full refund. which was super cool. the employees were very nice about it all, and were helpful. really, i was dreading trying to return w/o receipt, expecting just to be given some huge store credit, which would have been alright, just not preferred. nope, they gave full refund. and, i found some other gear that was on sale and just what i needed. seriously, as i said before, i've bought gear here before, and the salespeople have been nice and helpful. they've answered questions, and didn't try and push more expensive items or unnecessary things. read more

The employees are nice but other then that it seems to be over priced. Also what is the point of selling motorcycle tires if they dont take the wheel off the bike. I dont get that part at all it pointless to send me some where to pay 40 dollars to have the wheel taken off take it to cycle gear to put the tire on the drive back to the place i had the wheel taken off to have it put back on... I once again returned to this Cycle gear, this time in search of a new helmet. And once again was impressed with their service. Grace ordered a helmet for me to try on, which ended up not fitting, and then pulling multiple helmets and replacing cheek pads - she gave her all trying to find a helmet for me. At the end of the day, I wasn't able to find the right fit but it definitely wasn't from lack of effort on Grace's part. read more

The selection of gears are good, prices are great; however, costumer service is awful. Moreover, their website states that they have good return policy but it seems like their stores are unaware of it. I tried returning some gears i purchased a day before, and they were trying to talk/shame me out of it. They were insisting I go with store credit in lieu of returning my money. Also, I came to purchase some gear in my military uniform. They did not give me my 10% discount, I had to ask for it. It's kind of petty, I know, but most stores give it when they see us in uniform. My experience with Cycle Gear in Fresno has been hit or miss, I've been in store plenty of times and purchased products that I needed and never had an issue with customer service, but last week I went in and bought two tires, and got passed on to three different people, none of whom seemed to want to help. I got one of the tires mounted, and asked to keep the old tire as a spare. This didn't seem to get communicated to whoever did the install, because the old tires was absolutely shredded and useless, (as if no thought was given to even trying to save the tire) and when I called in about it to see if they would discount the new tires, or at least refund the install charge, they wouldn't do anything. Will never be back for an install from them again. read more

Cashier couldn't remember me or my tire 30 minutes after I left my tire and rim to get a new tire mounted. Its not a busy store and wasn't busy when I was there. I was there 2 days before getting a different tire mounted - that day service wasn't bad - but I bought my tire in-store. My bike is pretty unique with a right angled valve stem making it even more easier to remember - Honda PC800 -not many around. Left the tire and rim around 5pm - they close at 7pm. I called the next day at 3:45 pm to get status and same guy again didn't remember me or my tire. Top it off the tire was not even worked on. So then he said "It will be done in an hour, how is that for you?" I'm thinking WHAT! After the tire being there all day he talked to me like I had just gotten there and dropped it off. So I said it will have to be ok (no choice) and asked him to call me when it was done - I received no call. I called an hour and a half later and someone else answered and apologized and said that should have never happened ands that the tire was ready. When I picked up the tire the guy who forgot everything was helping me and pretty much treated me like I was ordering burgers at a fast food restaurant. I won't go back to Cycle Gear or at least the Fresno store. read more
