I think this is the rainiest season we have ever had in Rhode Island. In the spring there is a stream that runs under my house so I have a sump pump to keep the water out of the basement! Unfortunately the sump pump died and I didn't know it until a couple days later and found 3-4 inches of water had filled my basement.
I called several companies to help fix the problem and Kevin from CW was the first to show up, and after talking to the other companies I hired him. I like that he was the owner and was involved in the job. I also had confidence that they would not only take care of the water, but take care of the mess that the water caused. Specifically, a lot of my possessions had turned into garbage with the flood and needed to be thrown out. The crew was careful in going though boxes and possessions not to toss everything, but put item that could be salvaged to the side so I could go through them.
They had equipment that quickly sucked up all the water and pumped it outside, they installed a new sump pump with an alarm, and put fans all over the basement to dry it out. I think most of the companies would have been able to clean up the water. What made them standout was the care they took with my possessions and that they were friendly and easy to work with. It is traumatic to have things I have saved for decades to be destroyed and working with people that are friendly and honest made the process easier than it otherwise would have been.
After they left the basement was bone dry and it was absolutely clean as a whistle. I have posted a picture of the sump pump cover that day after they left. You can see how clean and dry it is. Thanks! read more
