A news is around the corner, that the Gyn is due of a total revamp with a new state of the art Life Style Machines. The free weight section is pretty much old school. The red seats will remind of those gyms in the earlier era, when the gyms just had irons, and just irons and benches. The monthly membership here is pretty much affordable. Only £25 deposit with a monthly fee of £35. Now, this £25 deposit entitles you with a free session with a Personal Trainer and if you shell £35 as deposit, you get two free sessions! The payment is through a direct debit and is deducted in the first of every month. Now, this £35 might seem to be a bit steep. But, wait! This includes all the classes as well as use of the sauna and the perfume and aroma therapies. You can also get free day passes, like three in a month, with which you can bring in your pals for a free training session. Well, that's not all. They give you a full refund wishing 14 days of joining, if you decide to discontinue. This sounds like a one if its pioneer services in terms of the gyms in Bristol. So, what's stopping you? The gym is big. It is spread across three rooms; the main room has all the cardiovascular machines and a few weights machines. The next largest room has a large area for stretching etc. Finally the smallest of the three is a free weights room. The machines are not looked after especially well however this does not matter much as there are so many of them. So many in fact that you can literally feel the floor pulse the the steps of the running machines.

A quieter, more welcoming weight room is round the corner for those not quite ready to join the Hercules wannabes. Trainers are on-hand to assist you and also make good eye-candy whilst you're sweating it out on the treadmill.

They are part of the Active scheme which gives you the chance to pay monthly for membership and gives you swimming, classes and gym included. They do have some really good classes here, circuits and abs classes are popular choices. More recently I have been here for a swim, they have a 25 metre pool and offer plenty of lane and casual swimming and it's all clean and tidy. You won't find anything fancy here, but for standard fitness activities you'll find it here.

They have all fitness equipment and have slowly started replacing the old equipment with brand new ones. The pool has been the same for years and the changing rooms could do with a refurb still. Im not a member but i always seem to get into the clases without booking and paying on arrival, unless its in the spin studio then i recommend booking far in advance. The classes are £4.90 and around a hour long. The carpark lets it down alot, its VERY small and always packed. And the roads have double yellows everywhere. Go careful parking i managed to get myself a parking ticket there a while ago! I will still continue to use this centre but does still need some improvements.

Whilst a member here I became partially paralysed from the waist down, suffered a complete heart block and a stint in high care for pneumonia. I froze my membership but apparently it didn't go through - I didn't use my membership throughout this time so was evident that I certainly believe it was frozen. Manager of the branch denied my mere £30 back despite medical evidence right in front of him and the evidence from their systems that I didn't once attend the gym in that time. They are clearly desperate for the money to deny £30 back to a now disabled 18 year old. Tomorrow is never promised, and nor is it promised that you won't end up seriously ill tomorrow. Avoid, because if anything happens to you whilst you're a member that means you seriously cannot attend, you won't be getting any money back. Me and my boyfriend have both ended our memberships now and will never be returning.

The Gym is cheap and cheerful, well, maybe not cheerful, but it is cheap! £16 a month gives you: new cardio machines, new weight machines, free weights and 3 free classes a day. They constantly have at least one cleaner cleaning the machines, floors and changing rooms. The place is very clean and changing rooms are just fine. But you will need to bring your own lock for the lockers. As with any gym it does get busy at peak times: 12-2 and 5-7.30. But it isn't any worse than other gyms I've been too. The free classes are OK, but they take place on the top floor in a cordoned off area. They aren't in their own room. £16 well spent in my eyes!
