I decided to give a lower one star rating because past experiences didn't exceed my expectations. Two weeks ago, I placed an order for two promotional photo books early in the morning. The promised pickup time was after 9.45am, which I chose rather than after 11am. Around 10.45am, we stopped by at the Walgreens location just to find out that there was nobody who would work on the order until after the 11am because the assistant manager was out and the manager was on vacation. I explained that one of the books was a gift for my parents, who were about to leave back to Europe that afternoon. I mentioned that I would now have to pay $25 to ship the book to Europe. She repeated that there is nothing she could do and only when she left she said 'I am sorry about that'. Not a very genuine apology; apparently, she didn't care because I receive an email that my order was processed around 1.30pm that day. Obviously, she didn't even leave a note to the photo shop associate. Neither did she leave a message for the assistant manager to address this issue. On Sunday, I sent an email to customer relations and received an answer from Felicia (below) in which she stated that a member of the management would reach out within two business days. Email from Walgreens' customer relations response: Dear Mark, Thank you for taking the time to email us with your concern regarding our store at 276 W LEE HWY. I truly apologize for any inconvenience this experience may have caused you. Walgreens takes customer comments and complaints very seriously, and we will continue to try to improve the way we do business. Please be assured that all the facts of this matter have been documented and forwarded to management for review. A member of management will reach out to you within two business days. I've included your case number below for your reference, should you have any questions. Again, thank you for taking time to bring your comment to our attention. I go through Checkout #1, and was rang up by a #Teeter Associate. I was tempted by the sales, and purchased far more than what I had originally gone in there for. I pay with my card, and ease over to the Customer Service counter to play my Powerball numbers, after my items are paid for and bagged. Afterwards, I head towards the door, briefly looking at #Starbucks mugs and glanced over at the holiday candy that was being stocked. In my peripheral vision, I see 2 Managers easing to the front, 'incognito,' or so they thought, but I still didn't give it a second thought, that is UNTIL my cart locked up at the door on a dime. My original thought was that I had ran over an item on the floor, so I tried to move again. By the time I looked up, a Teeter Associate was at my cart with a scanner to UNLOCK the #AutoCartLock that #HarrisTeeterHT have now installed on their carts. When I asked the Associate why my cart locked up, she said, "you were not at the register long enough for the system to deactivate the lock." Like, #WTF!!! What the hell you mean I wasn't at the Associate manned register long enough, when my receipt look like a long #CVS receipt, and it's almost as long as my damn legs, and I'm 5'10" tall?! I didn't use the self-service registers, and have ALWAYS refused to use them! She unlock the cart, and apologize. That's not gonna fly with me! You don't lock my cart up, while other customers behind me walk out without incident! I'm NOT buying the BS they tried to sell me!! I turn around and go directly to CS. Those same 2 Managers come to the counter in an attempt to explain away the stop, NOW blaming it on a broken sensor at Register 1. Now, for the sake of argument, if they KNEW the auto-release-lock sensor was broken, why open the damn register when there are NUMEROUS other registers to open???‍ I'm NOT buying the explanation, because they know as well as I do, why they stopped ME, and not other customers!! Plain and simple, I was stopped because of the color of my skin, PERIOD!! I refunded EVERYTHING on that damn receipt!! I was too humiliated and mad to accept the TWO weak explanations they tried to peddle!! A day before #VeteransDay and this is what I encountered after clearly being scanned by their Associate!! As of now, I can list 16 places to eat at this location! Three department stores, which includes the newly opened Marshalls! (Marshalls is now in the former home of Borders). Great location. Rankins is a local staple here. Great place to get tools, grills, outdoor decor, name it! Radio Shack? They got one! Joanne Fabrics is huge. CVS, Jewelry store, Staples, Optometrist office (home of the former Blockbusters). Also Suntrust Bank. - The Warrenton Village Center also includes the strip of stores across Branch Dr. which is the Safeway, Sears, Dollar Tree, Virginia ABC store, Merchants, the New Manhattan Pizza (in the former home of Jerry's) Game Stop Starbucks and so many other establishments as well.
