Stopped in with some coupons from another CVS September 27 at 2pm. Had a few questions, no one except pharmacy to ask. After 20 minutes a guy came in, flagged down a young male employee. Employee answered "Yo!?" and hastily walked away after giving an answer that led to customer walking out. I went to the only option to pay, self serve as I had an age restricted item. Waited, no one came for a while. Same employee finally came up, without an acknowledgment of my existence reached around my face, pressed something and took off. I had had a question which went unanswered. Tonight I went to the feedback site and a credit card was required to verify my identity. Hell no! Done with this creepy location which doesn't show up on GPS even though it is not new. CVS step it up 10 notches. read more

I took my son to this clinic because it was a late Sunday afternoon and not many clinics were opened. Normally I have had positive experiences at past Minute Clinics but this was by far the most unprofessional and unproductive experience I have had yet. The attending nurse was great and had great bedside manners; she asked all the right questions and we answered them accordingly. She tells me that my son may need to take a Strep test, COVID test, and influenza test since his symptoms could be under any one of these categories. I agreed. She then notified the nurse practitioner, Samantha Bonzani. This practitioner told the nurse that we could only take the strep test. I asked if there was an issue with the insurance or billing and she said that this wasn't the reason. I then insisted that he take these tests because I need to know what my son has. We went to Bonzani who had the most unprofessional mannerisms I had experienced. She asked why my son had his adenoids out 6 years ago instead of focusing on his symptoms that he has now. She prescribed him amoxicillin--which was given to us unmixed and in powder form-- and when I asked her again if he could please take a test for COVID or influenza, she said no and that "for sure, he has Strep". The Strep test came back negative. Instead of administering other tests, she said that she knows that it's strep and that it is going to take his body time to recognize that it's strep! How arrogant instead of just saying that her assumptions are wrong and that she would give him other tests. She then said he has an ear infection. When my son said that he had body aches and a headache, she said that he wouldn't be able to be in the clinic if he had "real" body aches like what people experience with flu or COVID. Not only were we dismissed but she would not tell me which ear had an infection. When I told her again that I truly think she needs to try testing him with the other two options, she said that it's not a big deal and that I could alternate between Motrin and Tylenol less than 3 hours apart; she also said that he could just come back and take the test another day! The pharmacy was no better. I stood at the desk and one pharmacist was looking at her computer from near the drive thru window and wanted me to raise my voice across the room to tell her our private information. They gave us the antibiotic in powder form whereas I had to mix it from home without telling me that I had to do that. In all my son's 10 years on Earth did I ever have to mix any of his antibiotics. I am taking this up with corporate for humiliating us and making us feel subhuman. read more

This is a review for the CVS at 9551 171st Street. I was greeted within 2 minutes of walking into the store by an associate named Tamara, who went through a lot of work to find the product I was looking for. A previouse CVS store which did not have it told me the one at 9551 171st had 2 in stock. Tamara was able to track down where in the store the product was located. This was an out of the ordinary brand and product, difficult to find in stores. She was extremely helpful, pleasant, professional, and cheerful. Thank you Tamara. read more

Finding the entrance to get here may be a hassle but I came here to pick up a few things and some tooth ache stuff as well. I had no problem finding what I needed in this store because as soon as you walk in the things you are looking for are hanging right above you on the ceiling to give you help on specific things you're looking for without going through multiple aisles. I have been getting my prescriptions from this cvs for just about over a year. Almost every time I pick up a prescription I tell myself that I need to find a new pharmacy! The numbers and techs are unprofessional and rude. I have witnessed them rolling their eyes and intimidating customers by being verbally aggressive. When my doctor sends in a prescription it is almost a guarantee that it will take 2 days to fill. They have no sense of urgency regardless of the meds or reason you need them. They have told me their system went down and they never got a prescription from my doctor. I had to waste my doctor's time and my time dealing with their incompetence. They have a God complex and will question everything and have at times refused to fill a prescription. There is no accountability for how they treat people. Please don't subject yourself or your loved ones to this type of treatment. Do yourself a favor and just find another cvs pharmacy or another pharmacy all together. read more

I am new in the area, so this is only the 2nd time, I've picked up a prescription at this location. Now mind you, my physician electronically sent the script earlier in the AM, how it is that it's not ready until mid evening? So I go when I'm told it would be ready, which is 4:45pm. I get to the counter the woman tells me, oh we are still working on this, it will be a few minutes. Hell, it's only an inhaler, you have no pills to count, just get the box off the shelf, slap the label on it, put it in the damn bag and give it to me. I nearly dying. Goodness. I just had surgery and was concerned about certain medications. I called and spoke with Kathy, the pharmacist. She took the time wasn't rushed and just really informed me about the various medications. When you're nervous or scared and you get a person like Kathy, it makes the world of difference! read more

I think most people have learned that CVS has serious customer service issues. Their only redeeming quality is sales prices...and figuring out all their little tricks to get cash back on bundled purchases...that then need to be spent within the next minute and a half. ;-) I vowed previously never to shop at this store...or any of their chain stores...ever again. However they are closest drugstore...and have pretty convenient store hours. Many of my past visits have been either unpleasant or non-committal. More recently, it seems the quality of their front register staff has improved somewhat...hence the two star rating. I haven't needed their pharmacy recently so cannot comment on that end of the business. My last interaction was over a yer ago for flu shot and they were actually very friendly. Surprise! I wasn't expecting that at all from CVS...! I guess it's best to say you are taking your chances going here....and will most likely weigh it against the options (mainly just driving further). read more

Christmas night after a big blowup with extended family and empty stomachs we were headed to a hotel but had nothing to eat. With two little boys we were desperate to find something to eat but being Christmas night, everything was closed. Thanks God this CVS was open! We arrived 15 minutes before closing and the cashiers greeted us with warm smiles and wished us a merry Christmas - which I thought was especially cool given I could see they were not of the same faith. The snack selection at this place is absolutely insane! It is what I always thought a snack selection could be. Literally everything you could think of... and not just candy and chips. I'm talking 20 different kinds of nuts, just as many differnt beef jerkeys - multiple brands, dried fruits, and all sort of unique items like chocolate covered edemame, granola bites... I could go on. We spent a solid 15 minutes just loading up our cart like kids in a candy store. Whoever is in charge of the snacks is killing it! Thanks for saving our Christmas night CVS! read more

I would like to report this Yelp Readers and to CVS Corporate and Head of Leadership team Ms. Foulkes that You should be made aware of very clear grounds for unfair practices in your Pharmacy Department , for sure at this location , Tinley Park ,Illinois. It is clear and supported by store employees that have knowledge of this on going practice, but fear to say anything about , keep in mind that is not the complaint . This department operates under a selection process based on whether you are liked or not, and services fall short of any Business model . Not to name any restaurant with had the same operating ethics was found in fault of exercising the same practice and had to remedied this to the General public . I will tell this to the public , don't not shop at CVS , take your business elsewhere shop Walgreens or another source you will get better services . I have switched over and am satisfied with another competitor. The one star was generous . read more

2 times coming here for prescriptions, and the red/blonde haired pharmacist is by far the rudest pharmacist I've ever dealt with. Asks me why I take such a high dose of meds, bitch that's between my Dr. and I. Then won't fill my prescription until she talks with my Dr. bc she feels it may be fake. WHAT????? I had my dr call her, then she tells me that she believes I had a friend call in, and will only accept that he answer the phone # on the prescription. I wanted to punch her in the throat. So I called to get a refill on my prescription over the weekend. I explain that I have a new doctor AND provide the new doctor's phone number to contact for the prescription. Today I get a call from my old doctor's office saying they need me to come in for a visit before they can refill my prescription. This is classic CVS. read more

So I visited the CVS pick up a prescription when the cashier greeted me and took my name and proceeded to tell me that I had to circle around cuz I couldn't stay in the Drive-Thru while she's checks on my prescription after having it for 3 hours I told her that I was an inconvenience for me to drive around when the manager came started arguing with me about store policy my book I think there store policy is degrading to their customers I pointed out to both of them that there was no one behind us but the manager insisted that I Circle so I circled around and I put in a complaint when the regional manager or district manager call and tells me that he doesn't want me to come back to the store after I clearly told him I'm never going to come back to the store the worst customer service around the CVS should close down or fire there managers that run their store and kiss their customers asses to come back I will no longer visit CVS because of these managers read more

I would give them LESS than one star if I could - the people at this pharmacy are IDIOTS. They have people calling and leaving messages who talk in high pitched voices and talk so fast you can't possibly understand what they are saying. So you call back and are on hold, then someone (speaking in a high pitched voice and talking fast) says: "Hold on will be right with you" and puts you on hold whether you like it or not. Then you keep holding and are cut off. You call back and repeat the process, then get cut off again. I did this 3 times and after 15 minutes gave up and called the store manager, who said he would walk back there and tell them to pick up (they picked up, then said "hold on will be right with you" and put you on hold and then cut you off. But - CVS is better than Walgreens (which isn't saying much). read more

Terrible customer service. We went in to purchase a bottle of wine and the two workers were very unprofessional. They followed us around and eventually asked if we needed any help, but did so in a way that made us feel extremely uncomfortable. Not recommended at all. I went to CVS in Tinley on 171st earlier this afternoon to drop a prescription off hoping to get it filled soon (as I was in excruciating pain after my 12th surgery in less than 7 months). My doctor accidentally wrote the next day's date so the tech told me I'd have to come back after midnight. I came back and spoke with the pharmacist, Lisa. I could tell she was busy and informed me there was nothing in the computer and a note wasn't left for her to fill. Shortly after we started talking the computers went down. Seeing how much pain I was in, she went above and beyond to work on getting the computers back up and running. After getting the computers working, she immediately found my prescription and filled it right away before working on anything else so I could get relief as soon as possible. When I returned a short while later everything was ready to go and I'm getting relief! Her compassion and understanding make her an amazing asset to the company and to patients like myself. I am forever grateful! Switching to CVS from Walgreens was the BEST decision I've ever made! read more

Worst pharmacy customer service ever! After numerous delays in having prescriptions filled over the past few years, I went to the drive thru for pain medication on March 3 after an oral surgery left me in excruciating pain and a clearly visible bloody mouth. One car pulled out just ahead of me and I handed the pharmacy tech the prescription and asked if they could fill it right away. He informed me that it would be one hour. I pleaded with him that I needed the medication so I could go home and sleep off the pain.He walked away and returned with "Amy" who repeated again that it would be one hour because she has to enter the info in the computer, get the pills and answer calls from doctors. Amy then said that if I came inside that maybe it could be done in about 20 minutes. I agreed and pulled away to park my car and, despite my clearly pained condition, made my way to the pharmacy in the back of the store. I was SHOCKED to find NOT ONE other customer waiting for a prescription inside! Since when did pharmacy drive thrus become only a convenience for Starbucks toting soccer Moms in their SUV's and not for customers truly in need of the convenience? All I kept thinking as Amy was arguing the reasons for the delay was how much could have been accomplished in that lost time rather than arguing with me. This CVS has truly lost its compass in the compassionate care of its customers when they need it most. Hello Walgreens! read more
