I like this CVS very much. The pharmacists are excellent, and have been very considerate in going above and beyond to help me out. That's the reason I like this pharmacy so much. The store part is great too. They have everything I need for toiletries, snacks, first aid supplies, and small gift items and greeting cards. The location is super convenient with lots of parking spaces. The entire area is safe, clean, and well lit. Their hours are good too. read more

Have been coming to this location for years. It always seems understaffed. This goes for main store and the pharmacy. They have a great drive thru lane but many times it's multiple cars long. There seems to be plenty of turnover when it comes to employees. I used to know a long term employee and he left a long time ago. Hopefully it improves! read more

Very arrogant group in the Pharmacy Dept! Their customer service needs work! I refill certain 30 day life saving meds when they are due, however there are times when I cannot pick them up the next day! Many times they aren't ready anyway! But they now tell me they count the number of days until your next refill starts on the day when you pick it up not when you ordered it! Unfortunately, this last time I was sick for several days and didn't pick it up so my next refill was push 9 days because they said it was too soon! So now I am stuck with only a few pills that I take daily to cover 9 days! Bad policy! Their solution, I could pay out of pocket $13.00 instead of insurance covering it at 0.00 cost to me! Completely incompetent pharmacy department. Communication is horrendous. Prescription needed, spoke to the "Pharmacist" who said they ordered the prescription for the next day. Get a late afternoon phone call (the next day) telling us they don't have it and we would have to drive to West Orange to get it. Just got out of the hospital and now I have to drive to West Orange on a Friday night in the rain to get a prescription that they said was being delivered on the day that I need to take it? This place is full of Pharmacy STUDENTS that either don't know what they are doing, do not know how to communicate properly, or the place is absolutely mismanaged. Or all three!!!! I went on line to schedule Covid vaccination, they scheduled me at 11:30 am. I drove 45minutes , when I got there , they said appointment was canceled due to no Covid vac available, they said they sent cancellation, they did not. In fact I got a text from them an hour before appointment saying to check in . Extremely bad business practice. read more

Shelves always seem a mess or barely stocked- specifically the supplements, first aid, and medicine. The whole store seems to function at a snails' pace. The only thing I recommend about this location is the new Minute Clinic. Carlie, the nurse practitioner was GREAT! Very friendly, knowledgeable and patient. She listened to concerns, explained symptoms, and prescribed medicine in a short amount of time. I swear I waited longer for the store pharmacy to fill the prescription she sent over than the duration of the visit. Prescriptions sent from the Minute Clinic inside of the store should be given priority in the pharmacy since the patients are already there. I waited over 20 minutes for the prescription. read more

I have read many of the reviews on this place, and cant really argue. The service is less than perfect, to be kind. I have run in here on my way home when i don't want to go out of my way to pick up something. Stopped in here the other day and ended up picking up several moisturizers (Olay) simply because they were marked 75% off. I got $30 items for $6 but the frustration begins at the check out. The employees are in no hurry, not extremely professional and when questioning a price, it is excruciating. I cant really say anything about the pharmacy - i have read some comical reviews so i can assure you - i will not be taking any scrips here. Good in a pinch. read more

Terrible customer service. Tried to get help from two different people to get their cvs card scanner to work, but they totally ignored me. So I took it upon myself to try to fix it. Door looked open so I closed it thinking that would fix the problem. This guy wearing regular clothes (i.e. not in a cvs uniform) had seen me struggling with the machine so he came over and asked me if I had opened the machine. I asked "do you work here?" His reply, "I'm the owner. Please, don't open the machine." I guess I know where the poor manners from the workers come from - directly from the boss. This guy should go to manners school. read more

The worst pharmacy!! Better go to Wallgreens or any other places ! Prescription for one year ended only for 4 months , the insurance allowed me to pickup 90 days supplies each time but cvs make an excuse saying I can only get monthly unless I pay much expensive co payment which is over $130 instead of $5 times 3 months =$15 . Stupid person took my prescription n now getting worse n worse . Never in my life I would like to deal with this pharmacy anymore! read more

Pharmacy gets one star since I can not give no stars. My husband needed specific pain medication immediately and our regular pharmacy did not have it in stock. I went to the CVS as it was close by. They did not have the medication either but the pharmacist was pretty rude when I said I can not wait a day for them to get it. Really? He had no knowledge of why I needed the medication immediately and there was no need whatsoever to be rude about it. I stopped going there for regular non-pharmacy purchases as it seems that every time I need something they are out of stock and I have to go someplace else. Every so often I still go there, since it is convenient location for me, hoping that they are better but once again they did not have what I needed. On a positive note, I find the the employees at the regular checkout are very very nice and helpful. read more

Horrible pharmacy service. I dropped off 4 prescriptions at lunch time on weds, came back at 6pm on Friday and only 2 were ready, the pharmacist were still checking the other 2. I'll be taking my service to the RiteAid next door from now on. After all that, they still didn't have 1 of my prescriptions because it's on special order. The pharmacist promised I'll get it on Monday and she will call me when they get it. Thank you for calling me ahead of time to let me know! read more

If you want to pay high prices, get disgustingly horrible service, this is the place for you to Go. Not only we'll they charge 10-30% more than the Walgreens / Rite Aide across the street, but they'll allow you to stand in long lines, tell you your scripts will be ready in 30 minutes only to find out you've been waiting over an hour. When this is pointed out to the manager, it shrugs it's shoulder s and says 'that's the way cvs wants it, go suffer.' read more

Absolute worst pharmacy I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with, and I work in a medical office and deal with many on a daily basis. Due to convenience reasons I had my boss call in a script for my son to this CVS, knowing they tend to screw up, so my fault I guess for giving them the chance. I go to pick up the script and sure enough the clerk tells me it was never called in. I know it was called in because I was there when it was. She grins and says sorry. Really? I have a sick kid who needs his antibiotics and she says sorry. I will make sure to tell all my patients to avoid this place! read more

Literally the WORST pharmacy I have ever used. They will send you a text that your medication is ready but when you go to pick it up, it isn't and you're forced to wait 20-30 minutes each time while they fill it. The rest of the store is fine. I never realized how good every single other pharmacy I've been to in my life was until coming here. We've consistently had terrible service here. I wasn't going to write a bad review, but I'm at my wits end. Last year my fiancé had surgery that caused serious pain. We went right to cvs to pick up his meds, after the doctor called it in when we left the hospital. We got there and they told us to come back tomorrow! After complaints to corporate, he spoke to the district manager who assured us they would address the customer service issues. Well, here we are again for probably the third or fourth time with this same problem. Why is 24 hours not enough time to fill a prescription? The worst part is the techs and even the pharmacist don't seem to care. They slog around, back and forth, at a snails pace with no sense of urgency while we stand here waiting a half an hour for a script that was sent in 24 hours ago. We were told it would be ready yesterday. Theyre essentially lying and act as if we're adding to the inconvenience by providing revenue to their business. We'll they won't have that problem for much longer. read more

I would rate the CVS store on Elizabeth Ave in Somerset NJ an eighth of a star if the Yelp system would allow less than a one star rating. And that's because of their pharmacy. We worked with someone named Chantel at their pharmacy. We had approached her to pick up our Rx and we suspect it was Chantel who was Infuriatingly Slow and caused a long delay and gave us misinformation on the time it would take to have our Rx filled. Although she could have handed it off to someone else. Thankfully there are better CVS's out there; just Not This One. My dr sent my Rx over to this Somerset NJ store at 11:15 a.m. using an automated service while I was still in his office. He also told me that the Rx would be seen by CVS right after he hit the Send button which he told me that he had hit send. All I had to do was pick it up. Seven hours later I went to their pharmacy and asked a woman behind their pharmacy desk named Chantel how long it would be to have my Rx filled? They already had my Rx for 7 hours. She said, "Very Shortly." Well, it actually took their pharmacy another 35 or 40 minutes to fill it. Also while we waited, we had to use their customer bathroom. But Chantel wouldn't open their electronic door for us so we could access their store bathroom. She said, Someone else will help you; Then, she walked away. We were left tracking down another store employee to open the electronic door for us. While we waited at the pharmacy, another customer had a hacking cough. To avoid getting a cough, we decided to wait in our car at the 30 min point. Mind you, CVS has now had my Rx for 7 hours and 30 minutes. After 40 minutes had passed, we drove to their drive-up with no one there and we still had to wait there!! Finally Alleujah a bag with my Rx was handed to us. We got home and discovered only 2 pills in the vial. Although Kelsey at their drive up was nice. But, unfortunately for us, our ordeal was not over even though it had taken the Elizabeth Ave Somerset, NJ Pharmacy 7 hours and 45 mins and once home I discovered that my vial of meds only contained 2 pills. An attached note said they ran out of pills. Hello!! Why didn't Chantel tell me that fact when I had first approached her? No customer should be treated this way. So i called their store manager, Steve. He, and later Chantel, both said that I would have been told to expect a partial fill. Huh!!That was simply Not True. And, I would have to wait until 3 pm the next day to return for 4 more pills!! I asked Steve, their manager, if they could deliver them to me. Steve said, No. Later that night we learned that the Kendall Park CVS had the meds I needed. Again, why wasn't I informed of the shortage of pills at the Elizabeth Ave pharmacy by Chantel before we waited 40 mins? Obviously, this store simply Does Not Care About Its Customers. Anyway, I picked up my Rx the next day at the Kendall Park, NJ, CVS quickly and without issues. I wish I had thought to check Yelp before coming to the Elizabeth Ave CVS. read more

This CVS Pharmacy is terrible. I had to wait a whole week and 2 day for a prescription. I had another prescription filled, no one called me to tell me my health insurance didn't cover it. The pharmacy had me call my doctor and have them change the prescription. I thought the pharmacy was suppose to do all that. I want to know what's their job description is. People have to wait a very long time just to get question answered. It's ridiculous. read more

The worst. Tonight, I witnessed pharmacy technician counting pills on a little tray with a spatula, trying to work fast. Pill fell off the tray on the countertop, she picked it up with her fingers, not wearing gloves, and put it back in the pill bottle with the other pills....not to trash. Not only this pill is now contaminated but also all the others in the bottle. This is malpractice, not sanitary and contamination. This pharmacy is chaotic, not organized and should be audited. Furthermore, in the past, I filled an rx for an expensive ointment and the tube given to me was going to expire in 3 months when it should be at least one year. I happen to work for the company who makes this ointment and expiry dates are 2 years. Poorly managed pharmacy. read more

This is absolutely the worst CVS pharmacy I have ever had the displeasure of using. The pharmacy staff acts like they are doing you a favor even speaking to you. They are frequently out of medications. And forget trying to speak with someone on the phone. You hang up thinking that your issue is resolved and it just continues to persist for days. Take my advice and use a different pharmacy in the town of Somerset. These people should be ashamed of themselves. And the worst part is negative reviews don't even seem to faze them. read more

Horribly slow. Don't try making a flu shot appointment here and still have some place to be like work. Got here 15 minutes for appointment just to make sure there would be no delays. Now sitting here still 25 minutes after my scheduled appointment and no end in sight. This place is terrible, the people that work at the pharmacy are rude and dont care.about the customer whatsoever. It takes 2 days to fill a simple prescription and then they give you attitude.
