They canceled my appointment for my flu and Covid vaccine one hour before it was supposed to happen. First, they told me that they had run out of Covid vaccines mind you I had put the appointment in days prior. When I replied back with what the hell they then said that there was an insurance issue and had to cancel my appointment entirely. As a virologist who worked at Pfizer during the pandemic, I am seriously worried about pharmacies running low on vaccines and not giving proper notice so people can plan ahead. On Wednesday shortly before 130, while getting my script from a girl at the register - another male employee with a tattoo on the back of his neck came up behind her and started repeating my last name in a mocking manner, like someone with a disability. The girl laughed then saw i was taken aback by it immediately acted like nothing happened. The man then proceeded to walk back into the area where they bag the prescriptions while yelling my last name repeatedly in an offensive manner while laughing and looking at the girl at the register for signs of validation or approval. I asked the girl if that guy was getting me anything more or why he was repeating my last name like that and she just said oh i don't know he's just etc etc. I told her that was stupid, and you shouldn't treat people like that. I've been coming here for years and live close by, will be transferring my scripts elsewhere. I also called and left a voicemail as walking home I couldn't help not be pissed over it - and nobody has called me back regarding it. To wait forever for your script, then to get treated like that - is never worth it. Go elsewhere, also not even going into how long it takes normally as they are massively disorganized. read more

If this wasn't the closest CVS to my apartment I wouldn't go here. It is uncanny that when I go in looking for something specific that I know they carry, this CVS doesn't have it and I wind up going to Walgreen's a couple of blocks away and it's there. The temperature inside the store is almost always uncomfortably warm and if that isn't bad enough, there have been numerous times I have seen milk waiting to be put in the cooler just sitting in the aisle without an employee in sight to put them away. If you use their self-checkout, at least 2 of their 3 machines will be out of order, not giving receipts or both. The good thing here is if you're a CVS member, you get some fairly decent coupons and discounts. It really wouldn't take much to make this a far better shopping experience for the customer. Full Disclosure: CVS is my favorite drug store. As a rewards member, I get lots of coupons, discounts etc. They have organic goods and there are several open 24 hours, like this one. This location is a nice size, with wider aisles than others I've seen. There's a guy who greets you as you walk in. He also helped me check out. They were well stocked and I found most of what I needed. I'll be back. Their pharmacy closed at 6 pm. read more

Fair amount of items variety sold around the store. But on May 2, 2023 while I tried to pay for my USB converting adapter from older keyboard and mouse connector, the checkout machine kept telling me technically to ask for someone's help. Then whenever the Indian employee came, he treated me like a child!! He did not listen to me that I already scanned so many times as he simply scanned again like I did not say anything to him. First of all, that I was totally pissed off suddenly by the Indian employee cos he treated me like a fucking child, Please bring back all the old employees, don't let him work here I had enough of his personnel behaviors. And two, if the unsold item did not go through the self checkout machine, then don't sell! I could have peacefully paid everything for EVERY item I bought can go through, not technically telling me to wait for assistance and brought me an employee who suddenly treated me like a total child, told everything what to do which I ALREADY KNOW of, which totally pissed me off. That's it, to save my energy andy breath from even talking to that pain in the ass employee who treated me like a child while he was assisting me at self-checkout, I am not coming here to shop ANYMORE, AND if you want most of shoppers back, stop changing employees, we did not even know them and new employees and trainees always barely treat me and Asian American nicely! read more

I don't like leaving shit reviews. But here it is. I've been picking up my medications here (up until I started uni) since I was a child. My entire family picks up their medications here. And I've never had such a deplorable experience until now. I had to miss almost a week of my anti depressants because of such ineptitude between this CVS and another damn CVS. I get that times are tough. I gave a bit of leeway time because I know people may be overworked. But this is just ridiculous. My medications were only refilled after I spent ANOTHER morning/afternoon chasing it around and being kept on hold for way too long. Also, change the f*cking hold message. Nobody wants to be told 50 times that the covid vaccine requires an appointment. I've gotten all my f*cking shots already. Almost threw my phone against the wall read more

Not sure why so many harsh reviews of this CVS. It's clean, the employees are helpful and friendly. They are constantly stocked because it's a 24 hour store. Huge refrigerator section. Store has self checkout, and I agree that you have to wait sometimes, but have some patience people. It's a busy store. read more

Do not ever be tricked into ordering from the photo studio here. We tried ordering three identical photo albums from the CVS online site and they gave us books with all the pages completely out of order. One of the books didn't even have the same cover as they others even though they were all supposed to be the same thing. Called multiple times to figure out what was up but no one answered, ended up having to go through CVS' corporate line to get everything resubmitted. When my husband went back to pick them up again, the cashier refused to release them because he didn't have the old books with him. This was despite the fact that we'd called maybe 20 minutes prior to ask if they were ready and have them checked, with no mention of needing the old books back. Luckily they finally released the book to us after a long back and forth but the whole thing was a mess, and this isn't the first time the photo studio has been like this. The store itself is complete chaos and they don't pick up the phone. I'm sure if you're just running in to pick up items it's fine but don't expect anything from the photo studio. read more

We have been coming here for years- on EVERY SINGLE occasion that we come to pick up our prescription medication,they always tell us that they have no information concerning said prescriptions. EVERY SINGLE TIME. I WATCH my dentist and Dr call and the receptionist will INPUT the prescription in front of me-when we get to this CVS - it is NEVER EVER ready or THERE (according to them-"it's not in the SYSTEM" while not looking in the bins, mind you. ) They are terrible or the system is terrible- I'm gonna say that it must be the SYSTEM- no human could be that incompetent and uncaring (imagine if these meds were the difference between life and death) I don't think that this is going to change anything but MAN I hope so. FIVE STARS FOR DANIEL (the manager). The store gets about 2.5 stars. It's kind of disorganized, I've been rung up by a cashier on the phone, they often don't have sale items even on the first or second day of the sale. So the store is nothing special. What IS special is one of the employees named Daniel. I think he is a manager. If he isn't, he should be. Literally, every time I go into the store he has the best attitude and goes above and beyond to help. He actually stood with me doing price comparisons on headache relievers when all I did was ask one question about the sale. Hire about 6 more Daniels and this store becomes a 5 star store. read more

There are no actual people on registers. Just that self check out shit that doesn't ring up anything correctly. I was trying to buy Halloween candy bogo (Hershey's and almond joy). They rang up wrong and the associate told me it was because "Hershey's has to go with Hershey's". Mind you, almond joy is a Hershey's product. I called the store number for the 61-15 Metropolitan Ave location at +1 (718) 497-9192 today to schedule a COVID-19 pct test appointment since the website was not working and would not let me submit. It kept saying more fields needed to be filled out but they were all filled. I scheduled an appointment over the phone which the gentleman told me that the system was slow since a lot of people were scheduling but that I would receive confirmation shortly. After waiting roughly 15 minutes without receiving confirmation, I called back and spoke to a lady that said she had no access to confirmation and could not provide a solution. I've now wasted about 1 hour of my life. I made my way to the store anyway because I'm not feeling well and the gentleman said everything went through. I had to pay an Uber. I arrive at CVS and am told to exit and walk around to the drive through window. A tall heavyset what appeared to be Caucasian man with short black hair said he couldn't find my information, could not schedule an appointment with me because he did not have access and that it could only be done online, and that he would not and does not have any solution. I asked if he thought it was okay for CVS staff to waste my time and run me around town all morning. It's also ridiculous because what is someone does not have access to the internet? I asked if he could just take all my information now since I'm here and he said no. He proceeded to tell me that I couldn't have called the right number to the pharmacy (making an assumption) so I told him the number I called and he confirmed that it was indeed correct, which I already knew. It is not my problem that after calling the direct number, I was routed to some out of state scheduler, that is a CVS problem and is extremely poor service since I could not even get through to anyone else! Hours, $20, and disappointment after disappointment later, I left. All while feeling terribly sick. This is an extremely poor system and extremely poor customer service. I will NOT be using these services again and will seek other facilities for testing. read more

Despite the bad reviews, I actually really love this CVS. I live nearby so this is my go to drug store-- and of course, perhaps this review is biased because I never require a customer service experience here. The people and workers here are friendly. I always come in with my dog and they are fine with that, kind and playful with my dog even. They have everything that I need here, the stocks seem filled and I can always get a fair amount of shopkick scans here. The check out section is fine and don't require much assistance from the times that I've been here. People line up and go to the next register when they're suppose to. You can scan your rewards card, look up your number, or use a courtesy rewards card to still reap promotions on the products. The place is also pretty clean and well stocked! read more

I've wanted to try this new CVS ever since it was re-located to Metropolitan! I know that sounds weird but I was intrigued that this new location was going to have a parking lot and transform at least one corner of Fresh Pond Road and Metropolitan Avenue into suburbia. I needed some miscellaneous items the other night so my boyfriend drove us over while driving home from dinner. We found parking immediately but I guess that isn't surprising since we were coming home at 11:30 at night. Upon entry I knew that this location wasn't anything spectacular. It looked slightly untidy but I did note that the height of each aisle made it easier to find items since I didn't have to arch my neck all the way back to see which aisle was oral care. We found ourselves standing in line with only one person in front of us who was already at the register. I was thinking to myself how slow this cashier was when the person in front did not have too many items to check out! I grabbed my boyfriend and we headed towards the self check out which even though was kind of fun and convenient was thoroughly annoying. I suppose I found it annoying since this place is supposedly 24/7 and they didn't have any staff to cover the other two (or three?) registers that were next to the lone cashier. It was only my first time visiting but it definitely gave me a sense that customer service is not their first priority. read more

Everything is expensive but then again what isn't now a days? Aside from the two workers who were chitchatting in the skincare aisle, everyone seems to be pleasant and hardworking. When I went to pick up my prescription the lady explained to me that there was a cheaper version of what my doctor prescribed and that she would get back to me in a couple of days. I really appreciated that! The last review I wrote about this store was when it first opened. Now I'm complaining about the pharmacy. This is the absolute worse run pharmacy that I've ever seen. Trying to get anyone on the phone at that place is totally impossible. I held on for 15 minutes and they ended up disconnecting me. My husband says that every time he's in there waiting for a prescription -- which they always have issues filling by the way -- all he hears is the pharmacy being paged to pick up the phone. They never pick it up. The issue now is we're trying to switch back to Walgreens because it turns out that CVS is no longer a preferred provider for his Aetna Medicare Drug supplement. We had not been informed of this. Why pay CVS $48 when he get get it for $12 at Walgreens. So now Monday he will walk over there to attempt to speak to someone in the pharmacy department and have them reverse a prescription that they've got sitting there for him and then go and get it for much cheaper at Walgreens. I hope they do not mess this up but I have absolutely no faith that they will get this right. read more

Prescriptions are never ready when I go to pick up. Various times I was told my med was not in stock and when I ask to speak to a pharmacist all of a sudden my med is now in stock??? I give this CVS no stars. They always have workers standing around and only 1 cashier, if any. Meanwhile customers are standing on line waiting and the workers act like they don't see them. I go to this place with the bf late at night, usually about 1 to 2 in the morning. Why so late you ask? Because I hate long lines and annoying oldies whining for their pain medication, . At night it's like a parallel universe. No one is there. It's just you and the staff and the crap they are stocking. When my boyfriend and I pick up his meds he always orders it online first then picks them up and 95 percent of the time they are always ready. The pharmacists are always friendly and respectful. It's a huge place and usually have what I'm looking for. I also appreciate the parking lot too. It's definitely cheaper than the freaken Rite Aid in the neighborhood. 24 hours, pharmacy included? Well-lit, well-stocked, always open and highly convenient. There are multiple self-checkout machines and a full staff of helpful employees. The pharmacists are honestly a joy to work with and will always help you out. I just wrote a note to Larry Merlo (CEO of the CVS brand) to inform him about this location. I stopped by last night to print a simple order of 12 pictures. This is not where I normally go. Sharing the letter I wrote to him below as it recaps the entire experience. CVS must not be treating their employees well as I was pretty shocked at their behavior and simply wanted to go all Rhonda Rousey on some of them. Dear Mr. Merlo, I hope this note finds you well. I am reaching out to you to provide feedback on one of my recent visits to one of your CVS stores in Queens, NY. As the CEO of this brand, I can only imagine you would find it interesting and important to get a "grassroots" feel of a consumer's in-store experience. I don't have the need to frequent drugstores much to begin with, but when I do, I typically lean towards Walgreens. Their stores are clean, well-lit and properly stocked. Employees are friendly and seem to have a reasonably good working experience (which to me as a consumer matters and says a lot about not only a company but the brand they are trying to build upon). With me deciding to email you directly, one can only imagine what a colorful experience I happened to have at CVS. Just last night, I happened to stop into one of your locations in Ridgewood Queens (61-15 Metropolitan Ave) as I needed to print a dozen pictures for pick up right away. I normally go to the Walgreens just a few blocks away however their printers happened to be down. Let me first say, this particular CVS location (which was originally located a ¼ mile away) is in a nice location with ample parking and right at an intersection; enough reason for anyone to consider this their "go-to" as it is conveniently situated. Upon entering the store, I noticed that there is only one cashier at the register (which, according to other yelp reviews, seems to be the norm here). An elderly customer was inquiring with this cashier about having left his CVS card in the store the day before. The blond-haired cashier, who was quite nice but again working alone, politely inquired one by one with three other CVS employees just a few feet away from her who were unpacking boxes or fixing items on the shelves on whether any of them had held the card for the customer. And one by one they each rudely, without even making eye contact with the cashier or the customer, replied "No", "Nope", "Not me". They all seemed to have nonchalant attitudes and it made not only the cashier uncomfortable but the patrons within the store uncomfortable as well. I asked one of these employees working the floor to please help me with photo printing. She walked me over to the machine and said "here it is". I asked her if it would be possible to pick the photos up right away and she said "you have to select one hour printing" which did not end up being the case as once I was able to get into one of these machines, I saw an option for "right away". I then asked if I could please borrow a USB cable (Walgreens always has them on hand) and she replied "don't have any" without even checking. So I looked behind the counter and there was one visibly sitting there, which the blond cashier happily passed to me. I was not able to print my pictures that evening however as the machines were falling apart and the machine wouldn't even recognize the connection between the phone and USB cable. Lastly, there was no manager in sight and all of the employees except the cashier (who then had to jump off of her register to handle self-check-out guests, while she still had customers on line!) seemed completely disgruntled. Mr. Merlo, I do not plan on frequenting this CVS (or any for that matter) in the near future unless I am in need of an emergency pack of gum and do not have any requests that require actual customer service. Should you wish to take my feedback into consideration to better your brand, I would suggest you have your field managers work more thoroughly in overseeing their locations and hiring good talent and keeping them happy by, I would assume, proper salaries and perks as I can only imagine this is what is causing these employees to behave this way. read more

I really like this CVS location. It's at the cross of Metropolitan and Fresh Pond, which is a great location whether you live in middle village or the surrounding neighborhoods. The workers seem friendly enough although the self-scanners are a pain! There is always one out of three that is out of order and there are never really any human-run check out lines open (unless there is a crowd). I'd say CVS as a business is one of the pricer drugstores but it is still nice and I do go there often and usually get everything I go there for. read more
