I was left waiting for an order that had already been canceled without my knowledge. This is completely unacceptable and reflects a serious breakdown in Stop & Shop's customer service. Why offer a service you clearly cannot manage or guarantee? Had I not called to follow up myself, I would have been left in limbo indefinitely. There should be a basic system in place to notify customers of any order delay or cancellation, along with a reason. From a technical standpoint, this is not difficult--you already have customer contact information, including email and phone numbers. To make matters worse, after this failure on your end, I was forced to resubmit the order, make an additional payment, and now wait 7-10 business days for a refund or credit on the canceled order.
