Only one pharmacy technician knows what she is doing. Staff is slow, uninformed and not pleasant

This used to be a very good pharmacy with a knowledgeable and helpful staff. But in the last two years or so things have deteriorated. The location is chronically understaffed and service is abysmal. Pharmacists who previously were happy to share their knowledge, answer questions, or make a call to a medical (or veterinary) provider are now brusque to the point of rudeness. Lines are long; the person working the counter also covers the drive through, and two or three phone lines seem to ring incessantly with no noticeable response. When the time comes for the pharmacy to close for lunch, the window comes down abruptly and people who are waiting in line are out of luck. Corporate officials have clearly made the decision to cut expenses without regard to customer satisfaction or employee wellbeing. (Indeed, employees make no secret of their dissatisfaction with poor working conditions, which only adds to the general dysfunction of the facility.) I've continued to use CVS because the West Main Street location is near my home and also convenient to the local hospital and my physician's office. Also, I'm a bit lazy and I assumed changing would be a hassle. But today I knew it was time to make a change. A drug I've taken for several years (Quinapril) was up for refill and Id tried unsuccessfully for several days to do it online. So, I decided to stop in to check the status. Instead of getting an explanation or advice, I wound up in a loud and sharp conversation with the technician and the pharmacist across a filled lobby. No information or real answers, just confirmation that they didn't have the medication and had no information as to when or if they would ever have it again, along with a throwaway comment that I should try a "non-CVS" pharmacy. That was all I needed. I went to the Walgreens location in nearby Heath, and had an informative conversation with the tech and the pharmacist on duty. I learned why Quinapril is becoming hard to come by and also that there are several reliable and readily available alternatives. After a quick call to my doctor on Monday we'll have everything squared away and I'll be able to pick up my prescription at Walgreens on Monday afternoon. read more

Worst pharmacy experience ever. Waiting for a prescription transfer, I was told to check back just before 10pm. No problem. At 9:55am, the drive-thru window was covered in cardboard from the inside. An automated message played long and loud from their intercom. I tried to ring the bell during the message, but it did not work. I finally succeeded in ringing the bell when the message finally stopped playing. A man (that I was later told was the pharmacist) said, "Pharmacy is closed." I tried to explain that I had been told to return before 10 and that I had been sitting at the window since 9:55. He refused to believe that I had been their since 9:55. It was 9:57, and he couldn't have known because he was hiding behind cardboard. He asked what medications I needed. I told him. He chuckled and said, "You don't need those tongiht. Pick them up tomorrow." They were BP meds. He didn't know how long I had been without them nor when I was to take them next. After such rude treatment, trust me, I needed my BP meds. I would never trust this man/pharmacy to fill a prescription for me. read more

Front store staff could not be nicer, but pharmacy staff is absolutely terrible. One pharmacy tech is polite and actually smiles now, the rest are rude. The shift to subpar service seemed to occur when the pharmacy stopped their 24-hour service. I blame the CVS company for this and for not appropriately staffing this location, but I blame the staff for their downright hostility and rudeness. Politeness and apology goes s lot farther than a slammed in your face drive-thru window. Low class. read more

Picture this. You get off work and completely forget it is your Mom's birthday. Have no fear! CVS is here! It is great for those "oh crap" moments when you've gotta throw something together fast. CVS on West Main Street is also helpful for a cold soda when your kid has a stomach ache at 1:30am and there is no way you are driving to Walmart or Target is closed. 3 Stars because you'll pay a mint for the cold soda or a birthday card to C.Y.A. read more

Pharmacy staff is the rudest ever. One lady got pissed and was cussing cause the item I was purchasing wouldn't ring up. The pharmacist didn't even bother to go over my daughters script with me. I sure wish my insurance would partner with Walgreens so I wouldn't have to go back. read more

WORST PHARMACY EVER! AVOID AVOID AVOID Visit 1: It took the pharmacy over 5 hours to fill a script that was promised in 30 minutes. The pharmacist on duty 'Robert' was more interested in doing anything but his job. Look behind their counter for the stacks and stacks of unfilled prescriptions. Visit 2: Decided to give them a try thinking that perhaps the first time was a fluke. It wasn't. After not having the prescription in stock, 'Robert' promised it would be available when needed. Needless to say it wasn't but he promised it would be in the next day. I left my prescriptions with 'Robert', so they can fill them and have them ready for me. Arrived the next day, and he managed to lose one of the scripts (it was 'filed' away somewhere no one else knew about) in the mess behind the pharmacist counter. 'Jeff' (Pharmacist on Duty) stated he could not be bothered to look for it even though I was now out of my script (He also called me an idiot behind my back as I was walking out, because I was upset at their incompetence). He did call me at 10PM to tell me he found it. I retrieved them the following day and took them to Walgreens. Needless to say I am going to be avoiding this pharmacy from now on. Walgreens on 79 not only had the prescriptions in stock, they were filled in less than 15 minutes. Apparently, this is not an isolated incident, I have heard for several others on how terrible this CVS is. AVOID! read more

They never have your prescription ready when promised, you are on hold for average of 15 minutes to talk to someone and I have gotten the wrong prescription. read more
