Unfortunately I must recommend forgoing all prescriptions at this Walgreen's location for fear you may encounter Halle L. Yesterday I called 3 times to get automated updates. First one told me scripts would be ready at 11:30am. Second update was they'd be ready by 2pm. Third update said by 6:30pm. I arrived at the drive-thru at 7:30pm (30 minutes before close). The assistant told me the scripts weren't ready and to come back in 15 minutes. I drove up to the window again at 7:46pm. Assistant told me they still weren't ready and to come back again in 15 (more) minutes, which, by then, would be after close at 8pm. I told her I would just wait there, thank you. Unprofessional "pharmacist", Halle L. got on the drive-thru phone and told me no one is allowed to, "block my driveway". I replied with, "I am not blocking anyone's driveway. There is no one behind me and you close in 12 minutes. If a car pulls up behind me, I will drive around, as is standard protocol." She then told me, "I have the authority to refuse service to anyone and I will not fill your prescriptions today." Up until then I was calm and understanding - even after waiting all day and yes, being told to come back, "in 15 minutes..". I asked her if she was serious. After she affirmed, I told her she was a miserable human being. I didn't yell, rather stated the fact in a less calm tone, maintaining volume control. If you want professional and prompt customer service, do NOT go to Walgreens and I warn you, stay away from Halle L.

When I inquired about their lack of courtesy, they responded by scrutinizing my complaints rather than engaging in a constructive dialogue. Safeway has reached out to me in response to my reviews but they have to many other unhappy customers and the staff is still treating customers like they are a inconvenience and less than. I believe it is important for all customers to be treated with respect and professionalism, and I hope that this feedback can lead to improvements in how customers are treated in the future. It's a great gift shop plus the clothes are very nice and she has some really good styles and selection. My husband has been trying to keep me out of there. There's a little bit of everything ..... clothes, gifts & many possibilities. Just be sure you have your credit card if you're going to go in here. I've been in California for the last few months and I'm looking forward to going back to Washington because of the beautiful weather plus the possibility of going to the Arlington Pharmacy and finding something great to wear. However, I usually don't need to wait for a long time when I come here around 2-3pm when it's slow. There's a Starbucks next to it, so you can grab coffee/pastry while you wait for your med if it takes forever. The next day, I received a message that my prescription was ready. It was after I showed up that I learned, unfortunately, the price had gone up from 70-something to 111, out of pocket cost for me. I would have expected to be notified of this before committing to it or even making the long drive. I didn't appreciate the ambush. I spoke to the pharmacist who was kind and apologetic, who explained that they weren't able to procure the one they quoted me due to market availability issues. To me, however, the disconnect was that I was not informed and given a choice ahead of time. I felt boxed in and didn't want to create a bigger morass so I went ahead and reluctantly purchased it. I still don't know who the culprit was, which is why I feel compelled to follow up with this review. The pharmacist agreed that it was a learning opportunity. I would have liked the person who did it to personally 'fess up for her unilateral decision-making. Also, while I was in there, and luckily sitting far away, a couple came in and the woman was hacking her lungs out. The woman then left while the man conducted his business. It's common knowledge that immune compromised and ill and healing people are forced to conduct their business at pharmacies, and the protocol should be (posted) that coughing/contagious people stay out unless absolutely necessary and then WEAR A MASK. That is common sense and should be proactive policy for any pharmacy or medically-related facility to protect their vulnerable customers. I mean, COVID should have taught us all something, after all! I highly urge all pharmacies to post a reminder for entitled or ignorant people up so they don't rudely inflict their condition upon others needlessly. And no, I don't expect perfection. I'm not perfect either. But accountability and proactivity go a long way!
