I'm not exactly an HEB loyalist, but when I'm in Beaumont, I make it a point to load up on food at…read moreone of the two HEBs. And, being a dad, I can't pass up the opportunity to call it by its original name when talking to the girl - with the emphasis on "Butt!" So, on the unusual instance when I was driving from Lumberton to Silsbee, I happened to see an HEB on the west side of US96! And I got my, um, Butt! in there. It was a disappointment. Yes, the prices are low. Yes, I take into account that Lumberton is a smaller town, so it can't support a big store to compete with Brookshire and Market Basket. But it has a smaller selection, and no deli or seafood section like the big guys. More important: the aisle signs are high up, and it's hard to read what they say. It was my first time in this HEB, so the signs didn't help much. But it is laid out similar to the HEB in Orange, so that helped. Clean store. Friendly staff. So it's a good store, convenient to people who live in this part of the town, but could improve. Or maybe I should just Butt! out instead of criticizing the store . . .

It's a nice store just because it's an HEB, but this area really needs a Super Store HEB. This…read morestore has a lot of items you need, don't get me wrong it's a good store. It's just that to go to a bigger store with a lot more selection you have to go all the way to Beaumont. If they would build a super store on the North end of Lumberton you wouldn't only have Lumberton shoppers, but also Kountz, Silsbee, and others from further north, East, and west!!! We just moved away from an area with a super store and we loved the selections they had there! Meats, veggies, seafood, cheese's, wines, beers, and so many other things. I think the people of this area would love shopping at one.

Me go to Walmart:…read more Get coffee, buy, then leave. Workers are nice, efficient, helpful. The aisles have great quality stuff Been here for like my whole life, never had problems, the Beaumont one, messed up. The Beaumont employees at Walmart: one time, they said that you must have exactly 4 items for self checkout, like is that even legal? Cause I know that's illegal, since I saw people bringing like 50 items to self checkout, the employee didn't care, but said that we couldn't go. Like, she is making us feel like outsiders, not fair. Beaumont Walmart basically sucks, Lumberton has more stuff, at least they HAVE POKEMON CARDS. - This is just about the Walmart one for this paragraph. Also, the employees at Lumberton Walmart, I see them cleaning the messes very well. Looks like February workers didn't even try to do their job.... But July, yes they do!

Walmart rarely has wet wipes for customers to use. This is the flu season people!!!! I have not…read moreseen a lack of these wipes at HEB. Also, I saw 2 men bagging groceries and they never scanned them. I asked one of the employees and they said they were "spark" shoppers. I went home and read what a spark shopper was and how they were monitored in the store. This seems to be an opportunity to steal and I can't imagine why Walmart implemented this. I know that my husband and I (over 70) were watched at one day at self check ( they froze the machine). They checked out items and of course, we were not stealing anything. I complained to management. BUT THEY ALLOW SPARK SHOPPERS!! We are driving into beaumont and shopping at the big HEB now.
