This location seems to be the heart and soul of Mont Belvieu. The layout is wonderful. Everything is easy to find, and the selection is top-notch with an emphasis on Texas centric products. My only gripes are the prices of fresh meat and seafood. They seem to be a bit high, considering the inflation is coming down everywhere. I also wanted to try the Mi Tienda tamales and found them overpriced, and the masa overpowered with cumin almost inedible. I love the Boars Head selection in the deli, and the bakery does a great job with baked goods. The gas station in the parking lot is very convenient, and I find the car wash very efficient and decent priced. Overall, HEB is a pretty good place to shop!

Here's what I love about Central Market: the produce, salads, sandwiches, meats, seafood, wine, cereal, yogurts, bread, coffee, ice cream, spices - actually pretty much everything. Even their flowers are incredible. Now here are some pro tips; listen carefully: - if you want the real, full CM experience, go on a Saturday or Sunday. You'll feel like you're at Costco waiting in line for samples and trying to push your cart without running someone over. But if you want a quiet, peaceful experience, go on a weekday during the day. You have to work, you say? Take a few hours of vacation or personal time off and head to Central Market. It'll be better than your last few vacations. - they have an app and it's amazing! You can save 20-30% each shopping trip with their offers and coupons. Make sure you add the deals in your app before you go to check out. (This part is a little annoying.) - ice cream section: buy the Hellenika Ube coconut. Just do it. Taste it and you can thank me later. It will change your life. If you want to overpay for it, fly to Seattle and find it at Pike Place Market. - stop buying spices like peppercorn and coriander seeds in bulk that are stored in bottles and jars. Go to Central Market and just buy exactly what you need for your recipe. You'll spend 24 cents for this and 58 cents for that, etc. Not $5 for a jar of spices that will lose its flavor or expire after a year. And the big question everyone asks: Central Market or Whole Foods? Whole Foods has way more locations, but CM takes the cake. It's just amazing. Trust me.

RIP to the snacks I'll never see again. As for service... I can't really say. I don't usually need help, so I'm not hunting for employees like they're Pokémon. That said, I did notice at least five workers a couple trips ago, busy restocking or doing mysterious cooking-connection things. This last trip, they were EVERYWHERE. It seemed like every person who works there was on duty and everywhere I turned there were people restocking and pushing large carts full of stuff. There were a few times when I felt like we were in their way since there were so many people stocking shelves and moving things around. It was kind of chaotic. The store itself is big, which means if I'm with my sister, I'm in there for at least an hour while she roams every aisle like it's Disneyland. Thankfully, the aisles are roomy, so you don't have to do awkward grocery-cart bumper cars just to get by. It's open, airy, and surprisingly refreshing for a place that sells raw chicken. And yes, I always leave with more than I came for. But isn't that just the H-E-B way?
