ER sent me to this CVS last night about 10pm as she was having complications from surgery and they didn't think she could wait until the morning to start her prescription. Drove 30 minutes to get there only to be told by the pharmacist that they wouldn't fill the prescription until the morning. I asked if they were out of the medicine as was told they were not but there were 75 scripts ahead of my daughters. When I responded that there were only 8 folks in the entire store waiting she said that all the scripts had to be 'typed up' in order and they'd been turning away folks all day. Frustrated, I asked the pharmacy where the next closest 24 hour pharmacy was and was told it's in Liberty. Left the store only to look across the street and see that Walgreen has a 24 hour pharmacy next door. They took wonderful care of us. I worked in a pharmacy for year and you always fill the prescriptions for your folks waiting...and your folks sent directly from the ER before you filled those for folks that might not show up for 2 or 3 days. Having a terrible customer experience is bad enough...but having a pharmacist abandon their obligation to care for the sick and outright lie to you is just sad. I've always had good experiences at CVS stores before...maybe it's just this store in Independence but you'd think they would have a pretty iron clad procedure to take care of folks coming from the ER in the middle of the night at a 24 hour pharmacy. read more

Came to this CVS on 3825 S Noland for a Covid test at the Redi clinic, since I have insurance that requires/allows me to get tested at CVS Redi clinics for free I guess. Anyway, the two white women that were working the RediClinic did not want to do their jobs and both said they were on break and then they have lunch in 10 minutes. Both the fatter one and the less fat one. And then another appointment after lunch so they don't have time. When I pointed out that it looked to me like they were just sitting there doing nothing when I walked up, they said they were on break as noted previously. Both. I almost forgot to mention that this is the second CVS Redi Clinic that we've been to today. The first one said the clinic part is closed on Saturdays. I guess you're only supposed to get sick and need Redi clinic from Monday through Friday. They got one star because the manager did a great job of saying hello. Back to Texas tomorrow!! Yayy! Btw- if someone from CVS management wants to know who the workers were in the pharmacy, check your schedule for June 24, 2023. I didn't check name tags, but both were wearing scrubs implies that they work in the clinic area and not as cashiers so it should be pretty easy to figure out. read more

The ONLY reason I'm giving a "1 Star" rating is because "0-Stars" isn't an option but, it's very much the rightful review this pathetic business deserves. Between the unbelievably unfriendly staff (Katie, to be specific) that have LITTLE-TO-NO customer service skills or a desire to help the customer, to consistently being unable to fill my medications due to not having ANYTHING or being "so behind" that they "don't have a clue" when it'd be ready for pickup; I will GLADLY take my business elsewhere. The number of times that I've had an issue with this location NUMEROUSLY surpasses the number of times I've ever left the store satisfied or taken care of. The manager here was incredibly rude. We were there to buy things to help with my MIL's cancer symptoms and he was so rude to us that he made a sick woman cry. When he was called to come void a transaction bc we wanted to change the CVS care pass account, he couldn't be bothered to walk up to the register, he got 20 feet from us, put his hands on his hips and with an annoyed look on his face asked what do you need? His answers were short, rude, and accusatory. Not sure how he's a manager with that kind of attitude. I'm so surprised as I always have good luck with CVS but this location is absolutely terrible. No matter what time of day, seems like the poor pharmacist is the only working running around filling prescriptions, putting stuff in the computer, and cashiering. One time walked in at 5:30 and they were slammed yet he was nice as can be and apologized for the delay. Walked in there last night for a change of insurance and pick up and same guy pharmacist doing everything while 3 girls were doing whatever else besides helping customers face to face. Now I'm waiting on the phone for them to help me with a prescription and I've been on hold for 33 minutes and still no answer! Does anyone work here!?!?!? read more

I've had a poor taste in my mouth since this store moved across the street from Wal Greens. That, by far, was rude! Okay, marketing can be a tough business, but come on! Oh, and I have pharmacy horror stories, here, that outweigh my Raytown CVS horror stories. but that's not the problem. I visited this store for the Sack it For Santa program, before I left for Oklahoma. I mean, what greater joy is there than creating a bag of gifts for a needing (I hardly ever use the word "Needy", that's not it, they are just "Needing" and it's something everyone reading this is one step away from.) teen age girl.I can go wild with a bag of cosmetics. So, I requested a bag, and they insisted I'd have to pay for it. No, I did this last year,and you don't pay for the bag. It is free. They insisted I pay $1.99 for the Sack it For Santa bag, that was behind the counter. No, said I, the bag is free. You get the bag, and take it,and fill it,and drop it off. "You have to fill it in our store," said the clerk. "No you don't," said I. "Well we can't just give you one," said the clerk. "Yes it is free, I need to see the manager." So, a guy, probably about 20 comes up to me, and says, "Was there a problem?" I said, "I need a Sack it for Santa Bag. They are free, and they are to be filled by the customer, and dropped off." He said, "You can have the bag, but you can't leave the store with the bag. You have to fill it here." I said, "No you don't, you can take the bag, and fill it anywhere. If I want to take it to Macy's, I can." He said, "You have to fill it with our products." I said, "No you don't, you can...blah blah blah." I bought the Sack it For Santa program up on my smart phone. He took it and read it. He still tried to charge me for a bag. Insisted I had to buy the products there. wouldn't give me a bag. By now, I was bagged out. I didn't want a damn bag. I left the store, empty handed. Which is sad, cause that was the only time I could've filled the sack, considering my work schedule. I love doing those kind of things, better than I like making donations online. I think the store needs to train their staff in communication. read more

While this isn't my first choice in CVS locations, they were the only store in the Independence/ CVS area whose Minute Clinic would look at up when I was more-or-less dying of strep throat. All the other CVS locations and Walgreens locations either closed early, had staff who had disappeared, or had a huge, long wait. Actually, I almost didn't get into this one either. The sign- in computer told me it was too close to close time and the nurse couldn't take anyone else. So I sat outside the door until she came out and pleaded my case. I felt like death and she caught on and let me have an appointment. Granted, the medication she gave me I was allergic to, gave me entirely new symptoms, and I had to go to another doctor, but I applaud her for her kindness of seeing me. The pharmacy was nicer than the employees at the Raytown location. read more

Went here this morning with Poodle, because he wasn't feeling well. I took him to the Minute Clinic. Sign in was easy; all questions were on a touch screen computer. They also have it to where you can sign in ahead online. Poodle thought he had the flu, so he needed to be seen. We didn't wait very long to be called in. The nurse went over his symptoms. She also thought he had the flu and she gave him a five minute flu test. He tested positive for Influenza B. She prescribed him Tamiflu and an anti nausea to combat Tamiflu side effects. **Note that if you think you are contagious or coughing you are required to grab a mask from the kiosk after signing in!!! read more

It's no wonder this place has such a poor rating. Their customer service is awful! I showed up at 5:15 to pick up my prescription and was told it wasn't quite ready. At that point I was told it would be 30-45 minutes. At 7:15 I arrived back at the pharmacy to pick up my prescription, and to my surprise was told that it would be 30-60 minutes! When I told them that's what they told me two hours ago, they replied "what do you want us to do about it?" I said I would like for you to fill my prescription Like you told me you were doing two hours ago. The pharmacist then told me that they have a procedure and they couldn't just fill mine. When I asked why not, he said because they MIGHT get an emergency room prescription and they have to fill those first. I said do have an emergency prescription now? He said no but he still couldn't just fill mine so I could be on my way. He said I could just come back up in 30-60 minutes, as if the only thing I have to do tonight is drive back and forth to CVS hoping that my prescription gets filled each time. I moved to this CVS location from a different CVS location because that CVS had awful customer service. I now believe that ALL CVS locations must have the same terrible customer service. I will not set foot in another CVS again. This is a problem that needs to be addressed at the highest levels. Walgreens now has a new customer! read more

If it were possible to give zero stars I would have. Somehow CVS and alot of other corporate places like Walgreens no longer care about customer service anymore. Decisions are being made at a corporate level that have nothing to do with the quality of employees being hired. I will not waste my time explaining the multiple levels at which CVS and other stores are falling down in the customer service areas. If your customer service continues to decline you are not the only company to get my prescriptions from. I worked in a customer service related industry for over 22 years and what CVS calls "customer service" is pretty laughable. You want to know more about what customer service SUCKS at CVS, and I mean ANY CVS not just this location is less than acceptable. I will basically now boycott any CVS and get my prescriptions anywhere else other than CVS. And not just my prescriptions. I mean ANY purchases from CVS. And I would be happy to tell everyone I know to AVOID CVS for any purchases!!! read more

The pharmacy staff was fast and courteous. The tech that was helping me check out was thorough by checking with a pharmacist about a hand written note on one of my Rx's. The store staff was friendly and very eager to help. I was asked twice (by two different employees) if I needed any help finding anything. read more

Something is up with this CVS lately. High turnover, low staffed, long lines, always new people to deal with. Also, I put in a request for a refill Saturday. They told me there was no standing refill, they'd have to contact my dr. And gave me 2 bp pills til Monday. Went back Monday. No word from dr. Called Tuesday night and this angry pharmacist with a Nigerian accent told me they'd faxed my dr. 4 times, were putting a note on my acct, weren't giving me any more bp pills to hold me over, and it was up to me to contact my dr. Called my dr. Wednesday. No fax ever received from CVS. Called CVS, told them to send the fax for real this time. Prescription was filled 30 minutes later. Who has time for this level of aggravation? I'm putting a note on YOUR account, CVS!! So there! read more

A perfectly average CVS that can either be easy in and easy out (when traffic is light), or a pain in the butt during any sort of rush hour. The inside of the store is a bit dark and slightly odd in its layout, but it's all there. Service is what you would expect - it's there if you need it, but it won't seek you out. read more

I love my local CVS and shop there at least once a week. With the extra bucks, the discounts, freebies with CVS coupon, specials, mark downs, 20 percent off now and then on meds, I get my moneys worth and then some. I am a smart shopper and always stock up during their sales. The store clerks and pharmacists have always been friendly. They never give a problem on the rare occasion I return something due to my error, not theirs. read more
