The cvs on Alexander lane Harrisburg is the worst pharmacy. The pharmacy staff are rude and this was the second time I was there where they tell me they have no pennies and got 3 cents more from me this time last time they got 4 cents extra from me. This is the only place I shop that will not give pennies in change. I know they're going to stop making pennies, but there are thousands upon thousands upon millions of pennies out there. They're not scarce they just choose not to do that. It puts more money in their pocket. Today was the last time I will use cvs for anything. I left a bad review on Google about the old bag yelling at me. So I went to Palmyra CVS for awhile with no issues. I went to Hershey CVS a few times and never ran into the old bag so I was glad. Today I returned something to Hershey CVS and the old bag was demeaning the young teenage boy working the register. The police walked in to investigate a fight and I got the hell out of there FAST! Couldn't go lower than one star. Pharmacy staff is often unhelpful. Likely over worker, poorly trained and/or terrible workplace culture. They are often unwilling to help when you have difficulties processing a script. They expect you as the customer to make all the calls. It's interesting we find they have difficulties processing scripts that were never difficult at other pharmacy locations. This was never an issue at the Rite Aid in Hershey (too bad they closed). And the GIANT pharmacists are great. We returned to CVS after Rite Aid closed. And are having the same exact difficulties with this CVS pharmacy that caused us to leave them 13 years ago. Seems the problems are deeply ingrained into this company. Advice- do not fill scripts at this pharmacy. Go to GIANT instead. They are helpful and able to resolve and conflicts with insurance or doctors with professionalism and ease. read more

This is possibly the oldest and smallest CVS I've ever been to. Maybe they have all the usual stuff, but it's crammed into a tiny corner lot and the aisles are extremely narrow. I always feel like I'm back in 1960. My experience with the pharmacy, however, has been great. read more

I'm surprised this hasn't happened sooner - losing weight during a vacation has only happened to me twice (once in the Philippines and during a visit to Hershey). An entire day was used to recuperate from the ordeal, I may have to blame a prime rib that was eaten a day before. I walked here from the hotel and the Pharmacist immediately came from behind the counter and based on the symptoms - he recommended Dramamine (Night Time), which was great because it did the trick. I won't go into my symptoms but let's just say - there was frequency and consistency. I had already dropped 20 pounds during COVID due to my workout routine and I wasn't expecting this additional weight loss. I was also able to call in a prescription and picked that up the morning after - vacation salvaged!! I have had no issues with the pharmacy. However, the older lady who works at the front register is beyond rude for no apparent reason. She acts like you are offending and inconveniencing her by coming to check out or if you have issues with the self check-out. I understand some days can be stressful, but she is literally like this every time I've gone there. I have a lot of patience for that reason, but she had me at the border of snapping at her for being so nasty. I've seen her interact rudely to other customers ahead of me in line as well. It creates a very awkward atmosphere. I tried to return some makeup that I ordered online because it arrived open. Even though I had the receipt that clearly had a barcode labeled for the store employee to scan for returns, she told me they can not accept returns in store that were purchased from CVS online. The website says otherwise. I took it to a different CVS and returned the item with no issues. I will continue to use the pharmacy because they always have the medication I need in stock, and I've had no issues there. I will never check out at the front again. Several encounters with that crabby lady is enough for me! read more

The girl running the drive thru window was completely ignorant towards my girlfriend who was in a terrible car accident. All she did was try to pick up pills for pain and the girl didn't help her whatsoever and caught an attitude because she wasn't able to find her name and then told us to call the doctor and slammed the window on our face. If you can't be respectful and kind you shouldn't work in customer service. SMH read more

Customer service is not very good. Worked in the Industry for several years- it can be challenging at times. I try to take sub par customer service with a grain of salt- however, the customers should never be able to hear grown adults cussing about guests. Beyond that these guests are patients as well. Management needs to take a look at how staff is reacting to obstacles as this is not a good way to do it. I also would urge management to reflect on why the staff is so overwhelmed with upwards of 7 individuals behind the counter. I have had some okay interactions but after coming here every month for a year the scale has flipped. read more

I was heading up to the Hershey Racquet Club, but wanted to get a quick snack to take with me so I stopped off at this CVS. ThIS CVS has a nicely sized parking lot while the actual store is medium sized. While it isn't huge they do have plenty of items for sale. Their options in regard to snacks and bars were extensive. I ended up getting a couple of the Kind Pressed Bars, Krave beef jerky and a couple of other items. The only thing I thought that this CBS could have improved would be their setup of where the items are placed in regard to each other. Checking out was very quick, easy and simple. The cashier was very nice and we had a nice quick conversation. While I didn't get too many items it still ended up costing just under $30. However, I don't think that was CVS' fault as bars can end up being fairly expensive. Altogether, this CVS is nicely sized and has some good items and friendly staff. read more

I arrived to pick up pictures that are already paid for and the doors were locked more than 10 minutes before closing. A bunch of people waiting to walk out and they can't even get the doors open. They female store manager very rudely lied about the system and computers being shut down. Even though I physically saw people paying for items. She refused to let me in for my pictures. The older lady at the register is rude every single time I've walked in. Went in for passport pictures and they were clearly wrong. My sons head was partially cut off and she refused to do them again unless I paid again. I ended up having to go elsewhere to get them retaken. New managers and cashiers are needed because apparently every single one at this store is completely incompetent and rude. read more

Worst pharmacy I ever dealt with. My daughter has a recurring script and since nobody else uses the same medication he won't keep it in stock. He wants me to call every month to let him know that she needs it. He also lost some scripts that were sent there from my doctors office. And just recently he said the doctor wrote the script wrong but never followed through with the doctor so now my daughter has gone 4 days without an antibiotic. The pharmacist tech had the audacity to shame me for buying plan b. She stated a whole bunch of people had come in to buy it and we really all should be more careful. Like several CVS Pharmacies I've been in lately, this one ranked poor in customer service. I walked through the drugstore to the pharmacy and walked up to a register. There were at least four folks in white filling prescriptions and otherwise occupied, and one on the phone. I waited awhile, and I finally moved to another register at the other side of the counter and stood there. No one spoke, looked at me, or said that they'd be with me in a minute. After I had waited for about 5 minutes one person asked me how they could help me. She asked me if I had ever used the drugstore before and I told her no. She said I had to go to another counter to be processed because I wasn't in the system. I moved back to the original register, waited until the lady got off the phone, and then this person helped me get into the system. She was friendly and helpful. I then moved back to the other register and waited several more minutes without knowing if anyone was filling my prescription (they were) or not. The appalling lack of customer awareness is one reason I seldom deal with CVS. I do understand and accept that I must wait, but I don't understand that I must be ignored. Pulled up to this CVS at 8:55 and the manager was closing the doors. The store closes at 9:00 pm as stated on their door and Google info. They would not open the door for us. The manager and one employee walked out exactly at 9:00 pm. Maybe I'm confused but I thought the store hours posted meant that the doors stayed open until the time indicated. At the very least, mediocre to good customer service would dictate that if there is a customer at the door, you would let them in and let them know the store was closing in 5 minutes. Disappointing. If I could leave zero stars, I would. The customer service is wretched. My physician called a prescription in for an Albuterol inhaler. No big, deal...I just can't speak in complete sentences due to pneumonia. Tried to pick the prescription up...CVS says there's an issue, and "action is required" by my physician. Turns out, the brand she called in wasnt covered by my insurance. I could have just had them switch it, or pay an extra $30 out of pocket, but the snooty little girl behind the counter didn't mention those options. I would have really verbally unloaded on her, but I literally couldn't catch my breath enough to do it. I feel like most people in my position, if actually given the option to pay an extra $30 out of pocket for what could be a lifesaving medication, would probably do it.
