The evening manager and employees are always nice and I like shopping here but as of May 2023 they have so reduced their pharmacy hours that they are worse than a bank! I have to switch my prescriptions to mail order because there is no point in trying to get here. If seems like if they aren't on a meal break they are simply closed. Too bad. Horrible customer service every time I pick up prescriptions. There are two staff in particular - an older woman named Linda - incredibly rude. She lets everyone know what an inconvenience they are to her. The other person who is equally horrible is a pudgy man with long hair in a pony (puke). EVERY time I go here he's purposely rude. I don't understand why these people work in a pharmacy where they're supposed to be helping people. People going to the pharmacy are sick/elderly and don't need staff to further make things difficult. Ya'll should be ashamed. read more

My insurance requires that I either use a mail order prescription service or CVS. I didn't like the mail order, Optum Rx, because the meds are really cheap and taste funny. The second I put the med in my mouth it is melting. Plus, the packages are all in orange bottles with white labels. The appearance gives me anxiety. lol. Therefore, I just started using this local CVS. I go to pick up my meds last night in the drive-thru and the pharmacist says, "I have two of the same pill, is it okay if I put them in the same bag?" (It was an antibiotic that is a one pill dose that should clear up the infection). I said that would be fine. Like why would I care if two pills were together? I then ask her to please read off to me what I'm picking up before charging me. She tells me I have five (two being the antibiotics on a small piece of cardboard). The lady gives me the meds and tells me to have a good night and I pull my card up just past the window and go through the meds. I KNEW that I should not have pulled up without checking my bag. I never leave a food drive thru without checking my order. I pulled up far enough not to block their drive thru window. I open the bag and there were not five prescriptions. She left off one of the antibiotics. Then, I notice that she had put a medication in there that she did not tell me that she was filling. Remember I specifically asked for her to tell me what I was picking up. The reason is, they quoted me a price of $20 the other day for this particular med, but Publix has it in the $7.50 list of meds (still a 90 day supply). I knew I had asked Publix to fill it (and not run it through my insurance) and wanted to make sure I got it from Publix and not CVS. So, here this woman had put that prescription in my bag. I am supposed to have a 90 day supply which would equal 180 pills. This lady had put in a bag a regular, small prescription bottle that may be a 30 day supply, or less, yet the packaging says there are 180 pills. What the heck. I pull my car back around to the window, and lo and behold, she had pulled the metal door partially down. I tried to get her attention. I then parked my car and went inside. The metal door was not down. As I'm walking to the pharmacy she pulls it down. Yes, this is what I'm saying. This woman sees me, a customer, walking to the pharmacy and quickly pulls it down. I thought I didn't see right. I told the clerk up front what the woman just did. I said she messed up my medication order and I need it corrected. She calls her and the lady told her that they are now closed and I'll have to call tomorrow. Can you believe this foolishness? I asked what her name is. Later I saw her name on my receipt. I found out she is the new pharmacy manager and her name is Isabelle. Way to go with customer service, Isabelle. I called this morning and guess who answers the phone? The one and only Isabelle. I told her about the antibiotic missing. She says, "I asked you if you wanted to pick them both up right now or wait?" What a liar! She never said that to me. I told her that she had asked me if it was okay if they both were in the same bag together. Shaking my head. Really?!? Now you gonna lie about it. I also mentioned how "they" pulled the metal window/door down as I walking to the pharmacy (in the back of the store). I only said "they" because I was trying to spare her the embarrassment of knowing she was caught. By the way, it was a minute after 8 pm when this went down. What a shame that a so-called medical professional would not care if it is a minute after closing and at least look at my medications that I brought back in. I went to Publix immediately after leaving CVS, last night, and got my medication for $7.50. All 180 pills. I'll take a picture another time of the two bottles. I didn't get to address that with Isabelle because it was obvious that she wasn't going to own up to making several mistakes, and even worse, the rude behavior of pulling the metal door down while air was trying to speak to her before she left. Even today when I asked what meds I picked up last night (I knew what I picked up but was testing her), she only named off two medications. I will be switching CVS pharmacies now. I can't deal with such incompetence and rude behavior. read more

Management/corporate has lost their mind. $15.99 for a six pack of locally brewed beer. $15.99! with tax that's over $17 for a six pack. I literally drove across the street to their national competitor and bought exactly the same thing for $10.99. Same as it is everywhere else in town including the highest priced gourmet grocery outlets. CVS charging 50% more? You've lost you mind. And a family of dedicated customers. This is probably the worst pharmacy I had ever encountered, I went there to get my prescription refilled I was the only customer and I stood there for 20 min i nobody would help me, one younger guy told me I would be with you shortly he was stocking some items and I still waited another 10 min , I guess stocking is more important than your customer , finally the pharmacist came to help but he really wasn't any help so I went to another pharmacy and got my prescription filled . Ugh I just realized that I have to pick up a prescription and I really, really don't want to. This CVS has gone downhill over the years and sadly it's the only drugstore my insurance lets me use. Over the last three months, I have noticed a decline in customer service, specifically regarding picking up prescriptions. When I arrived to pick up a prescription, I found that the prescription had not been refilled, the pharmacy tech & the pharmacist were the only two people working in the pharmacy. The tech told me that they were over 500 prescriptions behind & that CVS had cut their staff in half. She said it would take 20-30 minutes to fill the prescriptions if I waited in the store but if I left the store they would not fill my prescription until the other prescriptions of the people waiting in the store were filled first. I opted to stay to ensure I got my prescriptions filled. About two weeks later I went to pick up another prescription. I got a text saying that the script was filled, ready to be picked up. I arrived & they had lost the filled prescription, asked me to wait while they did the prescription again. Another time I submitted another refill request via the app on a Sunday. I was told that it would be ready to be picked up at 1 pm on Monday. I called the pharmacy at 5 pm on Monday, I was told that the script had not been filled and that it would take them 20 minutes. On Sunday, March 24th, I was going to use the app again to fill yet another prescription and I see that someone had entered my prescription incorrectly. My script was for 90 pills. I take three pills a day for 30 days. The CVS read-out says that the quantity is 90 pills for 90 days. This is not a new script. When I called, the pharmacist was extremely rude about filling the script and would not tell me when it would be ready. She literally said, "if you get off the phone with me I will be able to call your insurance about this error." Are you serious? read more

I tried to like this place for over a year after moving to Gainesville. All of their competent staff are gone. They continue to contact out of state doctors for refills and then tell me the doctor won't refill. Hello.....I live in Gainesville now and they have all of the current local doctor information. This week I took in a coupon I received from them based on my signing up for their customer benefit program. The manager wouldn't honor it. It appears this is a scam to get you in the store. I did the survey I received online and notified corporate. Never heard back...moved everything to Walgreens. Avoid this place. read more

Twice in the last month and a half the pharmacy tech did not fill nor contact me that the prescription was not in hand. First time made three trips to the pharmacy before getting to the bottom of it. Second time went twice. She was very rude and abrupt and could have cared less how she represented the company. Both times the pharmacist who was there (and in VERY close proximity) completely ignored the interaction. Did nothing to assist and did not even acknowledge an unhappy customer. I am pretty certain if I am an unhappy customer of this particular CVS twice in less than two months, there are others in Gainesville. This store definitely needs some customer service training! Unfortunately, our insurance through BCBS and UF requires that we use only CVS, so I am stuck with their lack of customer satisfaction, but I certainly plan to switch my prescriptions to another CVS! Will never give this branch my business again. I must say the corporate number was more understanding and at least was able to get my prescription ordered. But I hope to never see that pharm tech or pharmacist again. read more

The main reason I kept using CVS for my prescription refills for as long as I did was convenience: multiple locations, longer hours, and most importantly, the drive-through. Here's the story of the straw that broke the camel's back. I went to two different stores with my usual prescription in hand, only to be told that it was out-of-stock. This wasn't an isolated occurrence--in fact, it happened quite frequently--but I thought, 'Well, it happens, I guess' and decided to try one more CVS. The third time was NOT the charm. The pharmacy tech took one look at my prescription and asked me if I'd spoken to [Some Lady]. Having never heard of this person before, I stared at him blankly. (Despite this abrupt start, the tech ended up being pretty helpful. But, like, helpful in giving me really annoying information, as you'll soon see.) As it turned out, Some Lady (who worked at the first CVS I'd previously tried) was apparently in some kind of supervisory position of the CVS pharmacies in the area. He also mentioned Some Other Lady who was the pharmacist in charge of ordering my prescription for ALL the CVSes in Gainesville. And S.O.L. (pun intended) had just gone out-of-town. "Oh," I said, still puzzled about what I was supposed to do. "Then, can Some Lady order it instead?" "No. Only S.O.L. can order it. And she won't be back for, like, three weeks." So... the medication I needed--not super common meds, perhaps, but also not all that UNcommon--was unavailable in their stores around the entire city. And the only person who could order it had recently left for three weeks. What? I went to Target the next day. They filled it within 15 minutes while I shopped. I wish I could say I made a clean break right then. But I admit, the ease of not having to leave my car seduced me once more. I went back to CVS the very next month. They were (surprise, surprise!) out-of-stock. This time, I didn't bother wasting my time with other locations. Target came through again. CVS Pharmacy and I are broken up... for good. read more

The CVS people fought the overlay district requirements that demand build-to-front and two story minimum height, and then they won awards for the place. Ha! Nice new example of a CVS stand alone store. The best part about it is that is that there are never many people there and the staff seems happy to see you. Tip: During heavy traffic hours it can be a pain to turn left out of the parking lot to head west on NW 16 Ave. read more

This place has sub par customer service. I was trying to purchase some things they had advertised on sale but the one cashier didn't show me the prices on the stuff I bought (turns out I hadn't followed the deal correctly) and acted impatient when I tried to add up the prices. I gave up adding the prices assuming that he had taken care of everything but apparently he hadn't and when I tried to return the overpriced item he said they don't do returns. Another time I came here the cashier scanned the wrong price and when I corrected him, he broke the box my item came in before scanning it. At that point he seemed pissed off so I let it go and bought the item anyway since a damaged box wasn't going to ruin the item, but that was seriously rude. read more
