My main reason for using this Walgreens is for the pharmacy. It can get pretty hectic at times, especially right after work hours. If I had one gripe with this location (and it may be the same with others), is when I have to call the pharmacy to check on a prescription that isn't going through for some reason, it feels like the person answering the phone acts like I'm bothering them. I really only ask that the person I speak to understand what the medication is for and understand that there is a reason I'm calling. If I call about a prescription for a psychological related issue (which I do) and the person gets short with me, it only takes me that much deeper into a hole and can be a recipe for disaster. Not all customers and medications are like this, but before rushing a customer off of the phone because they may be asking too many questions, please understand where they are coming from and the worry that they might feel. Also, most of us don't understand the in's and out's of the prescription system and what certain things mean when a 'Doctor's approval is required', when my doctor was the one that just called the prescription in. We're only asking for help and some consideration. I understand that it's seldom a pleasure to have to deal with people over the phone, but some compassion would be great. I'm not saying that the entire pharmacy staff is like this, but 50% of the time that I have to call, I tend to get the bad apples. For in-store/drive thru pharmacy pickups, I rarely ever have problems and everyone is great to deal with. It's just the calls that are hit or miss. As for the rest of the store, it's great, clean and always has what I need. The pharmacy is also, just having to make those calls can be brutal.

We used Kmart successfully for years till they closed and then discovered Versailles Independent Pharmacy. Great service, wonderful staff. Yes you may have to wait in a line at drive thru but nothing like the line at Krogers which puts your car in the path of traffic during peak times.

To my surprise, the parking lot was not as big a nightmare as I thought it was going to be. It was one of the easiest parking lots I have been in at a Walmart in a long time. I ended up being able to find a parking spot quickly and didn't feel like I was taking my life in my hands walking through the lot. Inside, it was at least decently stocked and clean. Unlike some I have been to, I was able to grab everything I needed and was pleasantly surprised with the ease of being able to make it through the store. Checking out was easy. I did the self checkout and was shortly out the door.

But these people love to test my commitment issues because yet again the driver canceled. Now these people got me out here changing my order from "delivery" to "pickup" because I'm not waiting anymore this is just ridiculous. Everybody I've talked to over here has been helpful & pleasant…read more I'm moving my prescriptions over from Walgreen's only because Walgreen's does not have (or even plan to offer) a packaging system for medications like you see advertised on TV where all you meds are packed together & you just tear off the little pouch for the day, instead of spending painful hours, month after month, tediously sorting all your meds into organizers. Today I brought all my scripts in & was doing my paperwork & the lady asked me, " Have you been on all these meds? Or are these all new for you?" I said I'd been on them for years & she asked, "Well, do you have many at home that you still need to use up?" I said yes & she told me to bring them in & they would use them in my packs first, before they filled new ones for me. I said, but you know those all came from Walgreen's... she said sure, but they didn't want me to have a bunch of pills around the house that might go to waste, and as long as they were properly prescribed, documented & labeled they'd be glad to parse them into my packs until they were used up. AND she asked if I had some of my vitamins at home. I said I did & she said be sure & bring those too. Anyone who is on a bunch of medications, or takes care of meds for a family member, KNOWS what a time consuming, never-ending, repeating, yet critically important task this is, and these folks have cheerfully provided a much appreciated respite! Gone are the days when I could throw a toothbrush & a pair of clean undies in my purse & be gone for a week! These days it takes a hired hand just to tote the bag with all my nitro paste & hemorrhoid cream in it! Thanks again to these ladies for simplifying this aspect of my life!!
