Thrift Mac pharmacy has LITERALLY been a life saver for my healthcare and access to the…read moreprescriptions I need (and when I need them) that NO OTHER PHARMACY has EVER been able to even come close to. At CVS/Walgreens/WalMart .... you are just another patient ID number and RX number ... and the more unique your medication needs become ... the more you DREAD and FEAR that the pharmacy will be there with what you need and when you need them. I suffer from a rare and VERY SEVERE sleep disorder that completely paralyzes and debilitates my life without the prescription medications that I take to manage it. In the last couple years the ingredients used to make theses RX's and increased demand for them created a national drug shortage that the pharma manufacturers have TOTALLY FAILED to solve because of regulation and the low profit margins of the meds themselves. As each month passed the shortage got worse and no I would find myself spending HOURS and HOURS in days leading up to my refill date calling different pharmacies to find one that had my medications in-stock. Even when I would FINALLY find one that had the medications available at that moment ... their policy was first-come first-serve and by the time my refill date arrived it would be gone. Or promised to set aside for me ... only to learn their computer had the wrong number available than what was on the shelf. It became such a nightmare I was facing a medical leave of absence from work because it was become unsafe for me to take care of my own patients with a sleep disorder that was going un-medicated for days or weeks at a time. The VERY WEEK I decided there was no other choice but to take medical leave at work (UNPAID) ... I made one last call to a random small-town pharmacy I was certain would be the least likely to help me ... I WAS SO WRONG! From that day until now ... Griffin (Thrifty-Mac's owner and Lead Pharmacist) has gone SO FAR OUT OF HIS WAY every month ... to hunt for new manufactures with enough availability to fill EACH OF MY medications ... and there has not been A SINGLE MONTH since where he was not able to find a way to insure my RX was there waiting for me the day my refill was due. Thrifty Mac proactively communicates with me each month reassuring me things are on track to fill my prescriptions ... and has even found unique ways of helping me lower the cost when my insurance did not want to pay for one of them. Working in healthcare myself ... I know how difficult it can be to take so much time out of your day to meet the needs of a SINGLE patient when there are dozens of others who are depending on you as well. But the team at Thrify Mac has NEVER made me feel like a nuisance or headache ... and have always spent whatever time and efforts that it required to meet my unique needs. What a COMPLETE GOD-SEND it has been for me and my family to know I have this kind of healthcare partner on my side EVERY time I need them (which is all the time). I started in the prescription pickup line as the third car. It was a long time getting to first position -I was in line for over 1/2 hour and at least 15 minutes in the first position before getting any communication. Over fifteen minutes, I rang the bell twice, knocked once, and finally opened the window and said hello! That brought two people who seemed to not believe anyone could possibly be waiting in the car line. And I was scolded for opening the window, but also told that the bell was not working. Please. CVS management, close the car lane if you cannot provide service. All told, I waited 45 minutes. And even though I informed the worker and pharmacist that there were three cars behind me, they immediately shut the window and walked away. I can't imagine how long the others had to wait. A young lady was also waiting on a line of customers at the front, so it seems they were adequately staffed today.

Many people only have their lunch breaks to run errands. It is insanity at this pharmacy...and sad thing, I have used CVS in other cities for years with no issue...but for 5 years here at Lake Oconee....consistently bad. Even the MD offices are disgusted with this pharmacy. I called Pubix...will be transferring to them.

Judy, at CVS on Forest Hill Rd really perturbed me today. I went to purchase soap and it was locked…read morebehind the glass door. Judy unlocks it and tucks the soap under arm and says I have to hold it for you because people steal. I told her I am going through self checkout because I had additional items to get or can come through her directly when done. She becomes frantic like she was profiling. She said I'll hold it for you because people steal. I'm like lady, how many times are you going to say that. I felt profiled and her demeanor was off putting. I spoke to the manager, Jay. She helped soothe the situation but I still feel disrespected as a consumer. I ended up going to Kroger to get my items. I shop there all of the time. Judy left a bad taste in my mouth.

Sept 13, 2021, Castleberry Drug, First Visit…read more My veterinarian prescribes a custom blend of medication for my cat. The medication is given to the cat orally and the flavoring helps mask the taste. The pharmacy called almost immediately after the veterinarian called it in. They could have it ready for pickup Monday the 13th. I prepaid over the phone so I could just run in and grab it. When I arrived I decided to look around the store. Inside they had a section for soda fountain and candy, a gift and sport fan item section, some locally made items. At the back of the store is the pharmacy, and it has an outside drive thru option. The pharmacy had my cats prescription ready to go. Items I noticed which I feel a business should keep up on since it is something a customer sees before ever entering. The outside had quite a few weeds. The handicap spot had a big pile of dirt in it which when it rains would be mud. A nice little pharmacy overall. Friendly employees who were very helpful.

But, at least they had a viable alternate item (Nice! Whole Honey Roasted Cashews). So, while the Store basically had everything I wanted, here's what happened with InstaCart... Today is, 2-5-2023. However, I placed this order 2 days ago! Being alcoholic in nature, I didn't want to order anything until the afternoon. Sadly, the delivery time was pushed back three times. But, the time on the 3rd change was after dark (my place can be hard to find in the daytime). So, I rescheduled for the next day, 11:00-1:00. Yet again, my order pushed back! Not once. Not twice. Not three times. But, four times! Well, I called InstaCart to find out what was going on. The CSR told me they're backlogged, and offered apologies. Told me to call back, if it happened again. And, it did. So, I did. This time, the CSR blamed the Shopper. Now, I understood that I'd get a credit for this. But, so far, nothing has shown up. And again, the new delivery time was after dark. So, I rescheduled for today, 1:30. Yet again, my order got pushed back to 3:15! Luckily, and finally, it was at 2:36. Unfortunately, there's no way for me to know if Shopper was at fault. As, when I asked if they were assigned the order yesterday, they (husband and wife team) told me, when an order gets pushed back, it goes into a Queue. So, no way to determine who did this. But, I'm just glad I wasn't having a party. And, that this doesn't happen with my regular shopping orders (there as been push backs, and a couple of mistakes (1 involved perishables, and the shopper Batched the order (really dislike this), was sent over 40 miles away). Will try this again. But, unfortunately, no having a car, I'm at the mercy of these delivery companies. Though, I think, the aggregation, is still cheaper than car insurance. LoL

The…read morecustomer service is beyond appalling and this isn't just one occasion... it's every 3 months i go to get meds which isn't that often...The girls are unbelievably rude and i've even been hung up on more than once...everyone uses walgreens for convenience but these cumulative experiences are forcing me to send my medications to a new pharmacy! Save yourself the trouble and do the same!
