For the first time I tried their snack bar, which until recently was a must stop at Costco. Both offer the same price for a hot dog and drink, $1.50. They both have pizza and ice cream too. The hot dog at Costco tastes a little better than Sam's and is bigger, almost too big. Sam's has Pepsi, which Coscto no longer offers. They switched back to Coke. Boo!! Another bonus for Sam's is Dr Pepper at the fountain too, but no diet Mtn Dew and the cup size is a bit larger than Costco's is. At both places if you ask for onions for the hot dog when ordering they offer a small container for free. Costco has self serve condiment containers and Sam's has theirs in individual packets. Sam's also has a cutlery dispenser and they're recyclable. So there you have it. A review of the snack bar!

I also like being able to pull the bar code up on the mobile app on my phone for the pharmacist to scan, so they don't need to spend time asking me for my first and last name (wait, how did you spell that [Asian last name] again?) and birth date. I encourage you to head straight for the pharmacy even if you have other things on your shopping list because sometimes, they will surprise you with the incorrect price for a prescription and need 10 more minutes to re-run it and charge you to correct amount. If you have a discount card/code you use for a prescription, expect that this will happen, even if you have been refilling the same prescription at the same price for a year. Long lines form randomly and without reason, kind of like traffic sometimes, so if there's no line, then jump on it! You can also pay for a few items here (just ask them to scan it), but if there's a long line behind you, they will tell you they can't or that produce needs to be checked out at the actual checkout lines.

But so are most of the employees,especially Makeba!! I would like to speak to the general manager about a specific incident though. On June 5, 2022, my mom and I were in line for the pharmacy. Dr. Dates was there all day by herself, and around 4:15pm on Sunday my mom and I were in the pharmacy line, it was super long, we've never seen it so busy! The line was all the way down the isle. While my mom and I were in line I left the line to go purchase non-pharmacy items. I got to the checkout line at the front of the store and there's EIGHT people in line... I've never seen a line like this at a CVS on a Sunday... I noticed that the line was going very SLOW because the only register was the 1 self check-out register... and I noticed a guy (who I later asked for his name and he told me, Miles) he was behind the counter & on his cell phone with someone just laughing & talking about inappropriate/unprofessional things. He saw the line, people asked if he could check them out, and he pointed to the self check-out register. I was very surprised because usually CVS employees are nice or at least not rude & immature. An elderly man was up next to checkout & he told me that I could go ahead of him because he didn't know how to use the self check-out register, so I simply asked the guy behind the counter (Miles) to help the gentlemen & check him out, Miles was extremely annoyed & started checking the man out WHILE STILL ON THE PHONE!!!! After I purchased my items I went back to the pharmacy to look for my mom. The line moved a little bit, we had about 3 people in front of us, and it was 4:50pm. Long story short the Pharmacist, Dr. Dates called over the intercom for Miles, she said that Miles was needed at the pharmacy. A Few minutes later he still didn't show up, so she called again over the store speaker, 5 minutes later still no Miles.... She went to call again and the phone didn't work... so I went to the front of the store because I thought maybe he had headphones in and didn't hear her.... I saw him sitting behind the front counter, (behind a wall...I had to pop my head over the counter to even see him). And this is how our conversation went: Me: hey what's your name? Miles: Miles...why? Me: perfect! The pharmacist needs your help. Miles: I'm not moving...**he then rolled his eyes and pointed at the counter.** Miles: I ain't work at the pharmacy. He proceeded to tell me "my barcode wasn't working" which I said "I haven't had a problem depositing cash at other CVS and suggested maybe something wasn't completed accurately the first attempt" and he responded to that with "I've worked here for 3 years I know what I'm doing, can you get out of line so I can help the other people waiting" which he had no issue stating loud and clear I asked him kindly "can you just try it one more time" (he was fidgety and clearly stressed the first time around so he could have made a mistake) I pulled up the barcode again and on the second attempt it went through, no issue. I am not sure what changed when hiring new pharmacy technicians, but my experiences have been so wildly frustrating that I have switched pharmacies. After an ER stint, a pain medicine was sent in and I got a text saying it was received, I checked in the morning on the app saying it was being worked in, and then half a day went by and I hadn't heard anything so I checked the app again and the prescription had disappeared. I called, and the tech said, oh yeah- we just dont carry that, you should call around and see who does. I don't expect them to do the legwork to call other places to have it in stock, but they didn't bother to call to say they didn't have it- I only found it because I was desperately waiting for it to be filled. They currently seem a bit clueless about how things work, and it is really frustrating for loyal customers.
