I was actually talking to the pharmacist for 2 minutes.
    Peter O.

If you have to do business with this location, let's hope that you're not depending on them to dispense your life-saving medication in time to beat the Reaper. We've been dealing with this location since we moved to the area. It's the only pharmacy which will accept our primary insurance. This CVS location suffers from many of the common ills found at most stores which offer drive-through pharmacies: Long waits, not only to actually receive your medication, but to speak with someone.... Anyone. But this location has its apathy and inattention-to-detail down to a science. My significant other had major surgery a week ago. Her post-op, in-facility recovery went so well that she was discharged early. When we stopped by CVS on the way home, we were able to pick up her pain medications, but some of her other critical meds weren't available. We asked why, of course. The person waiting on us at the drive-through couldn't provide us with an answer. After settling in at home, we called her physician and learned that the person who phoned in the script had given some licensing number which had expired. A simple enough problem to remedy, one would think, but we still wondered why the pharmacist didn't call the prescriber to clear things up. That would be good service, especially to a patient who was just discharged from the hospital. Neither here nor there, I wager. I don't know enough about the business to know if that's something that the pharmacist should have done when the scripts were delivered to CVS. It just seemed like it made sense....but ultimately, the fault remained with the hospital. Unbeknownst to us, when CVS received this kind of improper credential, their policy is to put the prescription "on hold" until such time that the proper credentials are obtained, or another physician corrects the mistake. After having talked with the physician we were assured that the information had been corrected with this CVS Pharmacy and that we could go pick the script up at our earliest convenience. (As an aside, the physician mentioned that she had to wait on hold for 25 minutes before someone answered the phone). "Our earliest convenience" turned out to be a visit from me, after work. It should have been a quick stop. It was only a single prescription, and it wasn't for narcotics. Upon inquiring about picking up the medicine, I was told that it had been picked up early this morning. That kind of raised an eyebrow, because I couldn't imagine my partner having me go out of my way for a script that she's already gotten. I asked a second time, repeating the name of the prescription, just to be sure. No, I was told, it was picked up. When I got home, she told me that no, the prescription hadn't been picked up. Two others had, but this particular, and critical medication wasn't among the bottles we received. We took to the phone, hoping to avoid having to travel in Central Florida rush hour traffic. We called, and were greeted by the queue recording. 5 minutes passed. Then 10........which turned into 45 minutes...... I got back in the car, with my phone and drove back The Pharmacist, Nirvana, finally answered while I was just turning into the CVS parking lot. I explained the situation and was still explaining it as I walked to the back of the store. "Oh," she said, "There was a hold put on this". I told her that a doctor called this afternoon, with proper credentials, and verified the prescription. She looked at her screen. "Yes, it shows that the prescription has been released. Would you like me to fill it?" In my head I said, "Well DUHHHHHH!" But I bit my tongue as Nirvana appeared to put on her PR face, hurriedly filled the script, and uttered a couple of "sorry about that"s. You know, in the post-covid world, my knee-jerk reaction is to cut customer service folk some slack, for reasons I'm sure I don't really have to explain to anyone at this point. That said, my good-will expired after being kept on an automated hold, right about the fifteen-minute mark. Because I wanted to get the medicine quickly and without event, I kept my mouth shut, even though I was on the verge of having my head explode like that guy in "Scanners". There's no excuse for this kind of basic inattention, both to the critical details of the primary functions of a pharmacy, but to the almost-as-important front-line customer care which should be a fundamental part of any business associated with healing. So, my advice? If you're looking to purchase a USB cord on the fly, or nail clippers, or toothpaste, you're probably ok with stopping at the CVS on Sandmine Road in Davenport. If you're counting on them to make sure you get the medicine you need to keep you well, or alive, buckle up, sparky....this is going to be a long ride.

Like their competitor, they have a little bit of everything here, minus such a crowd. You can't go wrong with that. This particular location was a little bit picked through though, which always seems to be the case at this Target. Other than that, I would recommend it.

Much of what they have that I use I can find for a good deal less money someplace else that is usually closer to home. And this occasion I purposely stopped in because I looked online for an item that I have searched for in the past. They showed they had it in stock and when I got to the section you should be in I couldn't even find a place on the shelf or it could go. This is the same problem I had the last time I was looking for the same item and that was well over a year ago at a different location. Sadly their website just never seems to be truly up-to-date on much of what they carry. From my point of view if you're not looking for something specific and don't mind spending the money then this is probably the store for you. My one kid shops here for groceries because of allergies they have and items they can find here that don't give them the problems that they get from other stores.

I have been in this location before because of that, but I don't believe I've ever purchased anything here. I walked through the store, heading back towards the pharmacy as that is where I expected. I might find that I was looking for when I ran across the aisle I thought it should be in. I was hunting for Tylenol proactive Support which online shows available at places like Walgreens and CVS. I did not see any, but there was an employee nearby who I asked about it. They went searching through the app in their device and could not find a listing for it so apparently Walgreens here is not carrying it. They were very helpful and did suggest that I might try the competition across the street because I had mentioned that they might have it as well. After a quick look online, I did discover that the target on my way home showed it in stock and that's where I eventually found it. I was glad that the employees here were helpful and friendly. I will keep them in mind if there's something I'm in need of.

How can you expect me to just go along with "Well, I don't know how that was possible for a text to go out." or "That doesn't make sense." or today it was "Oh. I believe you, but it was only ordered on Friday, when you were here, so it should be here tomorrow." Newsflash. I wasn't even in the state in Friday. I was in to pick up something else on 1/24/23. I was told it likely came in with the shipment, but they hadn't opened it yet and to come back after 3. I got a text at 5:07 pm that it was ready, drove over, only to find the wait time insanely long and we just couldn't wait. Then on Thursday, 1/26/23 I get another reminder that it's ready. And on Friday, 1/27/23, I get ANOTHER text saying it's ready and will be held until 2/7. Yet according to your store, I was in the store on Friday and it was only just ordered. And this is not the first time this situation has happened. It's one thing if it's out of stock and there is a shortage. But tell me. Don't lie to me. This is an extremely important medication, and if you don't have it, I need to work with the doctor to find where I can get it. You need to do better. It's ridiculous to expect us to call to verify the text messages, make us "activate" a prescription even though a doctor has already prescribed it, and not be willing to be of more help. Now I'm faced, at no fault of my own, with having 2 family members without very important medications. Oh, and making it sound like it's my fault because of when I picked up the last prescription - even thought that was when you sent the text that it was finally ready - is also not cool. Time to find another pharmacy, I suppose.
