I sympathize with the…read morestaff as I've worked at understaffed jobs before and know how frustrating it can be to be spread so thin, but it's the management's job to have their workplace adequately staffed. Especially at the pharmacy. I was on the phone for well over half an hour. For the first ten minutes, there were two callers ahead of me. For the next thirty minutes, there was one caller ahead of me. That was my second phone call of the day, my first one had me on hold for 6 minutes before I hung up. I can't transfer my prescription online so my choices are either go in person (I can't as I have work) or call, but shoot I can't be on a call for almost an hour. At least they had a button that let me stop the hold music (it's the * button), so that's a plus. I can't comment on the attitude of the staff since I didn't get a chance to talk to them, but I'd understand it if they were grumpy. I would be too if I was so busy that I couldn't even answer two callers.

From appropriately processing BINs for manufacturer discounts for respiratory inhalers and Celebrex, to accurately filling my medications with appropriate warnings and reminders, Piedmont Pharmacy has met the expectations my independent Durham pharmacy instilled. Their technicians don't try to recommend an OTC "substitution" for a medication, which is not the same drug at all, and rather than help, could harm; pharmacy techs at big drug stores tried to do this repeatedly, to be "helpful." Piedmont understands the medications they dispense were prescribed for a medical reason and are not interchangeable with similar classes drugs or therapies. If we meet a hiccup with insurance, cost, or the prescriber, we address it together, so I still get my necessary treatments.
