I was in desperate need of a special medication which was called in by my medical specialist. I called the pharmacy hoping to speed up the process and to possibly arrange pickup of the medication for transport to my treating physician. Gene answered the phone. He was polite and professional. He asked me when I needed the medication and promised to have it ready by 10:00 am the next morning. True to his word the medication was ready promptly at the opening of his establishment at 10:00am. Upon my arrival, Gene greeted me and again displayed friendly and professional manner. The medication was ready and I was quickly on my way to my specialist's office. What I like about this location is that most of the items I'm looking for are usually in stock. One thing I dislike here is that they do not have self service registers. I prefer self checkout and wish they had the option. They actually pride themselves on not having them, per one of the employees I spoke to about it once. Maybe some people like that I guess. One thing I wish all Publix locations would do is put a trash can on the 2nd interior door. When you grab a cart wipe at the main door going outside, grab your cart and wipe it, you then need to backtrack to throw the wipe away. They need a trash can so it can be tossed as you go through the 2nd door into the store.

Walgreens was the only local place that had it available for the Pfizer shot. I went online and made the appointment the day before. I filled out all their paperwork online and set the appointment. I arrived almost 10 minutes late but they were able to accommodate me with only minor issues. They couldn't find me in their system and the pharmacist had to assist to get me all set. They gave me a copy of paperwork to fall out and once I handed it in it didn't take very long till the pharmacist called me to receive the vaccine. It all went fairly easily from start to finish even though I was there for a full half hour. Everyone was friendly and did their best to get everything together and keep me comfortable. I never shop in their stores anymore as they tend to be too expensive based on every other place that is available plus they are further for my house than three or four other places I can shop.

How do you rate Publix, which is so indispensable and offers so many different things for so many…read morecommunities. Here's my try. Supermarket - 4 stars. As a whole, prices are purposefully inconsistent but generally on the higher side (per unit of measurement) compared to Walmart and the warehouse stores. Publix prices are generally very good on the necessities, like milk, bread and eggs, but they purposely place these items in the back to make much higher margins for other items like Frozen Pizza. Better value is usually found on the lowest shelves to get impulse purchases at a higher margin. That said, most supermarkets do the same thing, Publix is just better at it. Their supermarket service and convenience are the best in the business. Deli Sandwiches - 2.5 stars. Their bread is a little boring and hard, their meats are generally good, always get the Boar's Head, but they don't put enough of it on the sandwiches, while the vegetables & condiments are only borderline passable. As a whole, I still rate Publix 4 stars, because imagine your neighborhood without one.
