On my way back from the hospital I dropped off two prescriptions for pain killer and spasms, both that were needed immediately. I asked if we could wait and the lady said it could be up to an hour and that they would text me when they were ready. Its been 5 hours now and I cannot get a telephone message into the store asking for my prescriptions. Never again will I use this pharmacy. This is the reason I get most of my meds from the mail order people. They say buy local but the local service is horrible. It takes me less than a minute to speak to a human at Express Scripps. The people at this location are super rude. I was confused about the price of an item when it was scanned because it was priced wrong on the shelf, and the worker with the beehive hair had such a rude and demeaning tone towards me. To reiterate what others have already written for this CVS location, if you're simply shopping for general supplies, make-up, snacks, batteries or even booze, the experience will be pleasant and standard. The aisles are organized, clean, and well labeled. There are 2 self-check out registers in the front for easier payment processing. However for Pharmacy customers, BEWARE! I have to first acknowledge that the Pharmacists and Pharm-techs at this location are all extremely professional and patient. I have never once experienced rudeness from the staff; however, you will experience extreme wait times whether in-person/counter service or drive-thru. Also, I have never once been able to get through to a person via phone and when I'm there waiting on a pick-up, I always hear how many calls are on-hold and the staff just can't get to the lines. My 2-star rating is reflective of my 6 attempts to fill 2 prescriptions. It literally took me 6 drives to this pharmacy to get the scripts right! Excuses ranged from the order being delivered, but not yet unpacked - even though I received the automated call notifying me that my scripts were ready for pick-up. Or additional wait time was needed to fill the script once I got there -- upwards of 30-45 mins of waiting and yet the order still wasn't accurate. My best advice if you absolutely must go to this Pharmacy is to go EARLY, before 9AM (Pharmacy Hours are from 8AM-10PM) you'll likely not have to wait for long and the staff isn't completed inundated. Nocturnal zombies and potheads with a bad case of munchies can come to this CVS in the wee hours of the night as its one of the few in the city that is 24 hours. There seems to be a little mix of everything here - food, greeting cards, toiletries, and the mandatory LSU Tiger gear. Depending on the item, prices here are on par as most convenience stores. The service here was really nice and extremely patient with me as I attempted to use their photo machine, at 1:00AM nonetheless. The damn machine was broken and was giving all kinds of error messages. It was a bad sign from the start and sadly the sweet cashier folks had no idea how to fix it. I must recommend to going to a professional place like Kinko's if photo copying / printing is needed. read more

I used to have my prescriptions sent here but they could never find them. The people here are rude and unkind and only one man ever even tried. The last straw for me at this location was when I tried to get my birth control that I had just got from there the month before and the lady in front of me in line left crying due to how the pharmacist spoke to her. Wow- I'm usually not impressed with a visit to the pharmacy, but today is a massive exception. I got my flu vaccine at the minute clinic here for free and was greeted by the kindest woman working there who made sure it was an easy and enjoyable time to get the shot. She even put a cold compress behind my neck to "ease any nerves" and was so thoughtful and deliberate in sharing the exact vaccine information and how it was stored. Afterwards, I picked up a few things, with a 5$ coupon JUST for getting my FREE flu shot, and the person checking me out was helpful, funny, and kind. I don't have any complaints about this store. No, I don't frequent this store, but when I need them for something they are always there. They are the least expensive, but they do have sales. Everything is brightly-lit, properly labeled and organized. I had no idea the were open 24 hours, so that was a plus, when I went in there to discover that they are indeed 24/7. They definitely came to my rescue with some items I needed the day before I was traveling. This location is on Highland and Lee. The lady at the counter was very courteous and fabulous customer service. So, if you need milk, snacks, over-the-counter medications, toiletries, etc., they have it! I understand that this may not be the most ideal places to shop, but they serve a purpose and when I find that purpose is served almost every time, the deserve 5-stars in my book! read more

Worst pharmacy ever! I will move all prescriptions to Walgreens across the street. They said prescription would be ready after 5pm. Arrive at 8pm to find Prescription wasn't approved by my insurance. They never called to inform me. I agreed to pay for prescription out right and they said it would not be ready for another 45 min. On returning home, I finally received the automated phone call informing me prescription wouldn't be approved by my insurance. Do not go to this CVS if you don't have time on your hands. I can't refill my medication through the app, I have to actually talk to someone and tell them to take it off hold. Usually when I call, I'm on hold for about 30 mins before someone answers. Yesterday, I called 5 times (waiting ~30mins on hold each time) with no answer. I even tried to contact someone at the minute clinic just so I could have them transfer me to the pharmacy and tell them to answer the phone, but when I finally heard the voice of a real person, it was a call center, not my location. So, I had to drive over to CVS just to tell them to refill my medicine (and have them tell me to come back and get it later). The drive-thru line was long, so I went inside, only to see that they were doing drive-thru only that day. I then sat in the drive thru for about 45 minutes, and as soon as I got to the front, they closed for lunch (with 4 other cars behind me). Ridiculous!!! Today, I called again with no answer, so I drove over there... again. Sat in the line for another 30 mins just to tell them I need a refill. He said it should be ready in an hour or so. When I told him I usually just call for this but nobody was answering, he just shrugged it off and ignored me. So, just to simply ask for a refill, I had to drive to CVS twice and wait a total of about an hour, and I'll have to drive there and wait again when it's actually ready. If they would just answer the phone, all of this would have been avoided. It is absolutely ridiculous for a pharmacy to not answer their phones and be as slow as they are. In the past, I've also seen employees being very disrespectful to customers. I only use this CVS because the other one closer to me is somehow even worse. I may have to switch to Walgreens after this. read more

If it was possible to give less than 1 star, I would. This is the worst pharmacy i've ever been to and I only use it if other pharmacies are out of stock. The service is horrible, slow, and hard to understand. You have to wait in line forever just to drop a prescription off. I wonder how this place is still in business. Stopped here late to pick up prescription for dog bite. They were super busy (lots of college kids here) with the semester just starting. Clearly they had a bad day and over worked, but they still were still professional and worked hard to get everyone taken care of. Just had a terrible experience at this pharmacy. Coming from ER in Zachary, trying to get RX for Percocet filled for my 74 year old mother with metastatic breast cancer (got IV meds at ER, the rx is a back up for tonight until she sees oncologist tomorrow). They were the 3rd pharmacy I tried, others were out. They had it in stock but pharmacist refused to fill it until in the morning because "we are closing in 15 minutes". It was 7:45. Online hours stated the pharmacy closed at 10 PM. I am stunned. Sitting with mom now in drive thru of FOURTH pharmacy waiting to see if they have it in stock. read more

This is the absolute worst pharmacy in Baton Rouge. I love the store itself. Open 24 hours a day even on holidays, but the pharmacy is absolutely awful. They cannot follow simple directions and have so much staff turnover that anything you ask for will certainly be forgotten by the end of person A's smoke break. You can stand in front of them in extreme pain asking for a prescription to releive your aches and they will look you in your watery eyes and say "Can you come back in 7 hours?" This place is awful. I once tried to get a prescription switched to this location and they demanded that I call back (and wait the 30 minute call wait time) with a phone number of the location the medicine needed to be transferred from. I did this and was assured everything was handled. I later sent a friend to pick up my medicine and was informed that they never actually handled any of the process and I had no prescription ready. When asked why I wasn't informed of this, they simply said "oh we didn't have your number." I left my number when I previously called and had to wait over night with the flu for my medicine. Next, I signed up for a "minute clinic" appointment against my better judgement and it has been well over an hour and I've still not been helped, assisted, checked on, or otherwise. Worst pharmacy in Baton Rouge- by far. I've given them multiple chances- always a disaster. They have the laziest employees who do not know how to do their job. They are very unprofessional, talking incessantly to each other about weekend plans, TV shows, and nothing pharmacy related while people wait to be helped. They have told me on multiple occasions a prescription is not ready more than 6-8 hours after being called in. Most recently I had antibiotics prescribed for two sick children- prescription was called in Monday at noon. Attempted to get prescription at 6:30pm, told not ready, to come back tomorrow. Went Tuesday morning at 8:30- still not ready and told would be ready by 11am (23 hours after being called in.) Returned at noon on lunch break and told system down so won't be able to fill. Staff very rude and unapologetic. Now I have two sick kids who have been without antibiotics for greater than 24 hours due to gross incompetence. Stay away from this place like the plague. read more

The CVS pharmacy doesn't have as long of a wait time as Wal-Greens, so I started going there. Since then, they have been a huge hassle for the most part. They even messed up my prescription one time and gave me half the dose I was prescribed! I'm glad that was only for some migraine medicine and not something more serious! The last and final straw was when they were late once again with filling my medicine and charged me twice for the same medication! The person working at the counter said the woman that was supposed to be filling my prescription "didn't know what she was doing" (he really said this), so he did it for her. She was the one that checked me out, though, and charged me twice. I didn't realize this until a couple of days later and had thrown away the receipt. I went up there with my bank statement, and they still refused to give me a refund and said, "I could have bought something for the same price that day at CVS." Yes, I am purposely trying to cheat CVS and went as far as buying something for the exact same amount, down to the cent. This was also a completely illogical reason for justifying that I had to have a receipt since it still wouldn't prove that I didn't buy something extra. Their staff is completely ridiculous and not very intelligent, and I would think intelligence would be important when you are in charge of people's medications. I have been going to this CVS Pharmacy since the day it opened. Used to absolutely love the place. Now, I can't stand it. The store is clean and well stocked however, they need to clean house of employees from the top to the bottom and start over. If you have a bad attitude, can't help customers, speak down to people like they are stupid, then you too could work there. There is a new pharmacy manager who has tried to turn around the pharmacy but he has lost that battle with the crew that is there now. I have shopped at this store since it has been open. After today I am transferring all of my family's prescriptions to Walgreen's. The pharmacy staff are the rudest people ever (especially the pharmacist). Plus they have cut back their hours and never seem to have enough people working. There is ONE guy who works the front area that is super friendly and will say hello to you when you walk in. And as for the upkeep of the store - it is disgraceful.
