Nice lush greenery sits outside the vintagey looking building and the inside has clean, organized stacks and local art. Like most of Chagrin Falls, its just a cute place. I am always amazed at how loud people talk in the library on Fenwick and on lee road. It's like…read morethey think it's no big deal and they have the right to talk loudly on their phone or each other for extended periods of time. However, when I have to talk I go out to the foyer area that is designated for talk and I still get yelled at. This is not just a one time thing. I will and must say that I am not the same color as the majority of the patrons and I feel that is the reason. No matter what I do or where I go it is still the same. I follow the rules and stay in the area in the front where I am supposed to go and still get yelled for being loud yet others are completely ignored when they are sitting at the computer area. No one ever yells at them HMMMMM. I cannot come up with any other reason besides bias.

I was there for an authors event with local author Courtney Hauser in the meeting room. Afterwards I asked Tony, the manager to kindly give me a tour. He was very enthusiastic about what the library had to offer and showed me the different areas of concentration. He mentioned recent improvements and also soon to be upgrades. Areas of opportunity: I think the restroom should be wheelchair accessible. Also able to be opened without touching the pull down handle. People with dexterity issues may have a hard time opening the restroom door because I had to pull hard. I will definitely return.

This is a review of the Beachwood city branch, a small yet nicely remodeled facility. There are great nonfiction and children's sections; however, the fiction selection is a bit lacking. The Saul Eisen Reading Garden offers a tranquil, secluded reading space. For research projects, one might be better served at the Mayfield and South Euclid city branches (the latter is set in an exquisite old local castle-esque building). Starbucks gets too rowdy after about 8:30 AM, and as a transplant I was at a loss as to where I should go to study. A friend suggested this branch of the Cuyahoga County Public Library. I can't vouch for the selection of books or the services they offer, but as a quiet study environment, this place is great! There are plenty of plugs for your computer (yay!) at each work station, so you don't have to bring an extension cord or awkwardly drape anything over your neighbor just for a hookup. My only beef was that the quiet cubbies were along the perimeter of the main room, which meant that it did get a little louder as the day went on. In any case, it beats the 'bucks, and helped me get my morning off to a productive start!
