My husband had an eye exam and got a pair of glasses from them just over one year ago. A couple of months ago the lens coating started to get these wavy lines on it, it started to degrade. This degrading of the coating is called 'crazing.' My husband has a very strong prescription due to nearsightedness and high astigmatism, so his lenses are quite expensive. We went back to the Cutler Eye Care to see if something could be done about the crazing, which should not happen after such a short time. The person we spoke with said there was nothing they could so because the glasses were over one year old - the year anniversary was in July, it was early September when we spoke to them about the problem. I explained to them that regardless of the time, eyeglass lenses should last longer than one year. I asked if they would please just make new lenses at no cost, since this was a quality issue. They said they would not do anything to correct the issue because the glasses were over one year old and that the prescription was over one year old. She told us that my husband would have to pay for another eye exam and another pair of lenses. They would not provide any compensation, or help due to the crazing/damaged lenses. I asked if my husband did have another exam, if they would give him the new lenses free, and she said no. So basically, my husband has a one year old pair of glasses that are damaged, due no no fault of his, and they will do nothing. His glasses were very expensive. He has never had this 'crazing' happen on any other eyeglasses, even ones he had for over three years. Cutler eye care is terrible. Their customer care is the worst I've ever seen. They will not even work with you on a compromise to deal with their defective product. They told me to come back and talk to the manager who is on vacation. We will do that, but still, this is unacceptable. The coating on a pair of glasses should not damage after one short year. Do not go to this place, it's not worth it. read more
