Drove up, saw it was empty. Walked in and I'm glad I did! Great haircut and service. When I visit MO again I'll be going back.

I made a huge mistake, for the very first time in my life, and took scissors to my hair. I only cut…read morethe split ends, but it was uneven. I made an appointment here to have it evened up and to basically do a trim. Normally, I just do a simple cut with framing around my face (long and gradually shorter around my face). Making the appointment was a breeze online. When I arrived, I was greeted politely and waited about 5 minutes after my appointment, which was no big deal. The stylist, which I can't remember her name, took me back for a shampoo. Once that was done, we sat down, and I explained what I wanted, and she understood. During the process, I didn't really feel heard. Even making small talk, I felt she was one of those people who is "always right". You know the type I'm talking about. Anyway, she made about 8 cuts to my hair. Literally. No framing was done either. By this point, I just wanted to be done with it. I mean, half of the assignment was done, and I didn't really feel too confident by this point to even say something. Once that was done, not even a 5 minute haircut, I went to pay: $40! $40 for a couple of cuts. I mean, I know everything is much more expensive than what I'm used to, but I wasn't expecting that much for so little. I'm torn between the number of stars. I mean, it was evened out, with the exception of one really long hair missed that I cut at home. Everyone was friendly, the salon was clean, and I didn't have any issues with the shampoo. However, it wasn't what I was expecting, both in cut and price.

Got my hair dyed purple with a money piece and cut here, great vibes and people. recommendedread more

This has been my place of choice for a hair cut for a while now. I've bounced around to some of…read morethe gimmick shops in the area, you know the kind, a coke as you walk in, neck and shoulder "massages," TV's with ESPN and girls dressed as referees...Those places are ok, but the fact is that they seem to run on the gimmick and not on the service. I've had some crazy issues with dry skin since I was in college, and for years had fought this any way I knew how. At one point I was even using regular hand lotion trying to get the dryness to go away. My first trip to Great Clips a few years ago led to some light conversation about the dry skin. The lady doing my cut recommended a few different shampoos and conditioners and explained the ingredients and how they were meant to work to affect my issue. After trying a few different things, I've settled on a zinc based shampoo along with some leave in conditioner that seems to have brought the issues to a stand still. My skin still gets dry around my scalp, but not nearly as bad as when I first walked in. Great Clips stays well staffed as well. With the gimmick shops, I would be in a line of ten people with only one or two stylists on duty. Great Clips usually has 3-4 stylists available, and even on days like yesterday where there were 4 or 5 people ahead of me (a rarity here) I was able to get in with about a 15 minute wait. You simply cannot beat that! Finally, Great Clips has several locations around the city which makes it very easy to get a good cut and great service wherever I am in the city. I tend to criss cross certain areas of St. Louis pretty regularly, so when I have time to kill and need a cut, I don't have to run all the way back to St. Charles just to get it done. Usually a quick Yelp! search can get me to a location within a 10 minute drive.

The stylist was nice enough and pleasant. The dye job my poor daughter received for her 14th…read morebirthday is HORRIBLE!! She is heartbroken that her hair turned out so wrong. She wanted the bottom half of her hair red and instead got a very thin layer of red that was applied more like a highlight using foil. Not what she wanted at all! Definitely NOT worth the insanely high price charged. Don't waste your money! We have received better services at the beauty school and for ALOT less money.

Sherry was DELIGHTFUL! We scheduled another haircut with her for both our girls…read more We were concerned about cutting our youngest hair so short BUT Sherry really expressed how important and was and made us feel so comfortable. Sherry told us we need to keep getting her haircut every 6 weeks because of the blonde and how damaged her hair gets with sun and chlorine. Sherry also said she should sleep with a silk pillowcase to help prevent her hair grabbing and tangling at night. Then to braid her hair at night. Not to use any other hair ties but scrunchies. Buy moisturizer for her hair and put it in every day in middle and ends doesn't need to be at the top because her hair dries out a lot. Sherry said the cut is much better and will help her hair grow healthier, it won't break as quick if we do all the above. Finally Sherry said to also said before she goes in the pool to spray it down with water to prevent chlorine damage because her hair is so blonde. Sherry was so so informative and patient with both girls. We will forever be returning to Sherry! Thanks so much!
