Chilisblues is a tiny store located in a converted motel. Yes, motel. You can totally tell it used to be a motel, and the store is about the size of a small motel room. I almost got lost finding it on the GPS because the street view made it look like it was a residential home. She has a decent selection of collectibles from Vinyls, figurines, toys, games and a Funko Pop! When I stopped by, she had boxes as high as the ceiling but couldn't move her inventory due to her shoulder. I spied some Pop! from SDCC (Comic Con), other exclusive ones, and even a Chase. I also loved seeing their bins of legos you can sift through. If we had more time, l could have a lot of fun doing just that. And l'm not even a Lego fan! I do appreciate and like the product. Especially being a former kindergarten teacher who had a Lego table as a center for early finishers and that was always the center chosen first to go to when done with my table work. Legos really are timeless and just as relevant today as the day they were made. Probably even more so. The owners were so kind and welcoming and walked me through what they offered. I had no idea that birthday parties could be done here. Sounds perfect for the Lego enthusiast. The cases of all the mini figures and specialty Lego items were organized and very fun to see. Optimus Toys brought me back to my childhood when you walked in to a toy store & were mesmerized with the potential of all the toys. Sure it's to a much smaller scale here, but it's still a fun place to check out and to show your kids. I have been looking for a travel chess set so we can easily play family games. I can across a small magnetic tin box styled set from here. I made the $12 purchase and ran over to my family on the beach to play. As soon as we set the game up, we found that it was misprinted and that the pieces were too frustrating to use. They were magnetized to each other so we decided after trying a few times that I would run back over to ask for an refund/exchange for another game. ... When I went up to speak with the lady at the counter, she told me that they have a no return/exchange policy and that their system isn't even set up for that kind of stuff. I told her my reasoning and that we were not able to use it at all. It's very unfortunate. We love playing chess. She told me as a consumer I am gambling when I make this purchase and that it was "just $12" while put both hands up as in I can't help you. I told her, it might be just $12 for her, but when I spend my money I like to know that it's going into something that works/useful. That was the end of that conversation. I left very upset and wasted my money for nothing...not even an exchange for a better and more useful item. TIP: Make wise purchases. There are lots of cheap toys in there that will break easily and if you hesitate about it, go with your gut. I should have. The people that work there DO NOT CARE about their customers.
