I had previously written a positive review. I need to change that. There has been an ownership change and a major policy change. They no longer accept normal means of payment, they have gone cash only. With then wanting $60 for a small dog this is more cash than most people carry. When I asked about this the person working was very rude and actually lied to me, telling me that there is a 3k monthly service charge to accept credit cards. Staff here is super friendly and knowledgeable! They do a fantastic job. My dog gets very nervous around people in general, but the staff was so sweet and caring. So far I've been there twice and my dog looks amazing every time. The shop is very clean. I really like how they have the kennels in the front where the grooming tables are so I know that someone is there keeping an eye on the pups while they wait their turn. Their prices are very reasonable. I believe they even train people to groom. There was a sign on the door saying that student cuts are 20% off. I highly recommend them! read more

I've been going to cute cuts every since Betty's dog grooming got sold probably the last two years I am a regular customer for her every six weeks I always tip 20% even though I don't really think they deserve it everyone in there seems like they hate their job I have never seen anybody smile the owner is about as grumpy as grumpy can be I have continued to go there because it's tough to find dog groomers in the area. I had an appointment this morning at 11 AM and I called in to ask them if they were going to just take the one hour they usually do because I was trying to figure out when I would pick my dog up based on a hair appointment the woman on the other line checked and said yeah we're really busy so we can't tell you any guarantee I said OK can I leave her there an extra hour if I need to yeah that's fine OK thanks bye I then get a phone call from the owner saying we won't tolerate that behavior your not coming today or in the future and I'm like wow that's really professional if you want to be treated extremely unprofessional go there if you want to go somewhere and be treated professional do not go there in addition they have had more turnover which I know is typical right now but that's a little scary when they're working on your dog they are very unhappy people especially the owner and it's in a very sketchy area and it smells very bad when you walk in which is probably typical but very unprofessional. The owner is obviously not passionate about her business and it's what she knows to pay her bills . read more

Cheaper than most other dog grooming places. Service is alright. Owner is friendly and accommodating once you become a regular customer. I like it here the most because they usually take an hour or so....no more than two hours and call you when they're done....which means your dog won't have to wait in a crate for hours like other groomers. :) read more

I have been taking my Lhasa to Kim for many years now from when she first opened her business at the other end of town to where she is now. She is super efficient and loves my precious Zeppelin. Her new place was a little tucked back out of the way but once you find it you'll never forget how to get there. The parking lot is small so you might want to park across the street to save you a little stress of getting out. But, other than that it is a wonderful little grooming business and I will follow Kim wherever she sets up shop. You and your best friend won't be sorry for seeking Kim and her grooming assistants for a fabulous and Cute Cut. :D read more

I've been taking our two mini schnauzer's to Cute Cuts for probably 3 or 4 years now. They are fantastic! Great cuts every time. They do a great mini schnauzer cut with nails, ears and whatever else your small dog needs done. We like short cuts with shorter beards and around their eyes shaved- not the most traditional mini schnauzer cut, but it's what we ask for and what we get every time. I happened to see them finishing up another schnauzer a few months back and he/she looked pretty great too with the traditional cut. The staff I think is family ran and very friendly. I used to ask how the dogs did during their time there, but we have stopped asking because they always seem to be in great hands and come home happy, clean and very spiffy. Our dogs are classic schnauzer's- they don't like to get their ears done- bark A LOT when we pick them up, I have to imagine they are not the most well behaved pups while at Cute Cuts- but you'd never know that from the staff- they are always always very nice and say our pups did fine during their time there. The team at Cute Cuts does a great job and gets my pups in and out, no fuss. They have moved locations a couple of times as they have grown- the address on walnut in Hillsboro is the current address, easy to find, lots of parking and easy to get in and out. I called Cute cuts today to get my dogs nails trimmed, which they badly needed. Kim was just getting ready to close but told me to come anyway. My husband has recently lost his job so we had to cut back on the grooming. I am trying to learn to do it myself but am terrified to cut the nails. Kim was nice enough to show me how to do it with the nail grinders and told me where to look for the grinders and clippers to maintain their feet. I took my 4 month old puppy for his first grooming they were so nice. They didn't want him to be traumatized so they were not sure if they would be able to buzz his hair down, they said they wanted it to be a good experience for the dog, which I love. They said they give him breaks and play with him to get him comfortable. Thank God Dunkin (my Portuguese Water Dog) was good and let them buzz him. I will be taking my 11 year old PWD to them too now. They called me about 2 and half hours later to pick him up love the service and the groomers were so sweet and made me feel comfortable leaving my puppy. read more

I must agree with the other reviewers that the place is well hidden but it is easy to find once you know where you are going. My fur child is Reggie AKA Mohawk Poodle. We recently moved from out of state and his former groomer was awesome. This is the first place I tried out and Sam( groomer) nailed it! Haircut was on point. My son was right. It wasn't the price of the grooming, it was the way I was treated. Cute Cuts was highly recommended by my groomer who retired. So my first visit was with my Maltese who was in desperate need of a grooming. The woman who greeted me at the front was very judgmental and I was taken back by her demeanor.I knew I had waited too long to bring him in. I apologized for it. Anyway i called to make an appointment for my 12 lb yorkie that i had spent two hours cutting hair off of already, she had many mats and very long hair. I told the nice girl on the phone I just needed her "finished". The few mats i couldnt get, her toe nails, and some hair on her face and legs, basically shaving the rest off. she gave me an appointment for the following wed at 1. I decided to try Wilco in Cornelius to see if they had something sooner. She did. I could bring her in at 430 a half hour before she closed on a Saturday. I took her in and she was super nice. It took her 20 minutes and 20$ later we were out and she looked great! I tipped her 5 and thanked her a lot. I ended up taking my maltese yorkie mix to Cute Cuts for the 1 pm appointment on Wed. I had spent over and hour cutting all his long hair and a lot of the mats off (not just mats Kim but very long hair) . He still needed to have his legs and back end finished and his toe nails trimmed. When I brought him to Cute Cuts the same rude lady waited on us. She informed me that they did not groom "dirty dogs" (i had already bathed him) and that i had messed him up so bad that it would be more work for her groomers and it would take at least 1 1/2 hours! I apologized again and said it shouldnt take that long. I was so taken back by her that i told her I wasnt going to leave him. She them proceeded to tell me that they were losing money because they had already booked that hour and a half. I totally understand that and apologized again but left. I sat in the parking lot shaken and called Wilco. I took my guy in on Friday to the same girl who groomed his mom and he was done in 20 minutes (not over an hour) it cost me 20$ and he got a really cute scarf for St Paddys Day! I tipped her 5 and thanked her a ton. I was never once insulted nor was my dog or the way I groomed him. Kim Im sorry but you are a bit of a bully and if I treated my customers the way you treated me I would no longer have a job. The first time I took my little boy to Cute Cuts I asked that they trim his nails, they failed to do so. The second time I took him there I asked that they take the hair out of his ears. This was very important since he gets ear infections if it is not removed. I picked him up and asked if they had removed the hair. I was assured they had. I failed to check this, assuming I was dealing with adults. That was not the case, I took Sammy to the vet for a shot, his ears were full of hair, and he had an infection in both ears. Now I am looking for another groomer. I would never recommend Cute Cuts to anyone. Neither time did they do what was asked and agreed to. This last time caused our little boy discomfort. read more

My husband and I took our Shih Tzu - toy Poodle to get a groom today and were totally impressed. The owner/ groomer and her assistant were very calm and the grooming facility was quiet. They were able to fix another groomer's botched groom and helped our dog reestablish trust in a groomer after having had a traumatic groom at a different Hillsboro groomer. Cute Cuts was also extremely quick and professional. We will definitely go back for years to come and hope you do too! read more

What can I say other than gold star for the ladies of cute cuts!!!! I am new to the area and have a long haired American Eskimo. I had very specific things I needed done to my little baby and Katie nailed my dogs hair cut. My little girl was soft and beautifully groomed. I love that when I checked her in they were very attentive to listening to my needs and concerns and made sure that if I was not happy about something to please let them know so they can correct it but there is nothing that I would have them do differently.
