I recently moved here and was looking for a barber for my two young sons and I. This can be kind of tricky because a) I'm a female and b) my oldest has autism and some other disabilities, so I need someone with patience and empathy. I called around and got a few "what? This is a barber shop" and called Cut It Again Sam. The woman that answered said they'd be more than happy to cut my hair as long as I could explain what I wanted as they specialized in barber shop haircuts. When I arrived at the barber shop, I was welcomed to an old school type barber shop, where its first come first served, you pull up a chair and you shoot the breeze with your barber as they cut your hair. You're there waiting as long as a cut takes. There were two dogs that just slept on the ground which I thought was lowkey adorable but it might bother people with allergies. When it came to haircut time, I cannot say anything but amazing things. My son on the spectrum had his haircut by an older gentleman; he asked me how N* would like his hair and he was so nice and understanding with him. He even made small talk with him the best he could. A middle aged woman cut my other son, B*'s hair. She asked him how he'd like it, asked my opinion and cut his hair all while chit chatting with him. I had a younger man with tattoos did my hair. He did amazing. He understood the assignment and I will be back for every haircut for my boys and I. read more

Everyone there is friendly and cordial. I'm not sure what the fuss is, but if you had an awful experience at this place - I would say it's due to 1) that individual experience; 2) you caught them on a bad day, which happens; 3) your own subjectiveness. Dropped by to see what kind of Salon this was and low and behold; it's not a salon! It's a walk-in's only old school Barbershop. If they are busy, take a number and $20 later you are on your way - looking good! If not busy, Tuesday morning for me, you got the place to yourself and the attention of the all the barbers. It's "walk in" place only. No appointments. Generally 2 or 3 barbers on staff. The crew is simply wonderful. By today's standards the cost is quite reasonable. I have made this my go to haircut place. read more

This is my go-to shop. George always cuts it the way I want it. My only beef with them is that they aren't open on Saturdays. My work schedule makes it nearly impossible to get over there. They could probably make a killing if they were open on Saturdays read more

I prefer going to the Barber instead of a regular stylist elsewhere when I simply need just a quick touch up, # 2 on the back, fade. For the few bucks this barber shop charges, verses the full fee stylists' nearly $20 for the same cut, I will keep coming back here!!! Great owner. Good cuts. Great deal. read more

My son throws a huge stink every time I tell him he needs a haircut. Every. Single. Time. I finally negotiated that he could keep the top long but must clean up the sides. He meets Liz for the first time and she charms him and convinces him to cut the top. I almost fainted. A Christmas miracle in June on the hottest day of the century. She's pretty great. Great job. I always prefer a high fade shaved. This is the first time I've been to this place. The price was reasonable and the young man who cut my hair was very professional. There were about four or five older men with white and/or gray hair in various states of having their haircut or waiting to be cut, so this appears to be the place where old sailors go. Took my mom for a haircut and was greeted right away. Many customers and no wait. Quick and a great haircut! Very friendly and good price.

Asked for a simple fade crew cut and it was probably the worst haircut of my life. Super choppy, not blended at all. Took a chance coming here since they had good reviews but the older guy cutting my hair didnt seem to be experienced in "ethnic" hair texture. I was also charged more than the 3 people that went before me when I asked for a similar haircut to the results they received. Overheard as I was waiting for my turn - Do you take credit cards? Yes, I do but I don't give them back! It did not sink in what she actually meant until I tried to pay with a credit card. Guess, what - they do not take cards but she does! Good cuts, reasonable prices and friendly, small town feel. Note that there are only two chairs and no Sunday hours. This shop has friendly and experienced staff members that will cut/style your hair with some interesting conversation along the way. I'm the kind of girl that wants to save as much money as possible, but still get a good cut so I don't look so run down. I'm also the kind of girl that doesn't gets highlights, blow outs, waxing all the time, so this barber shop (for males AND females) is great for those who like none of that high maintenance plop. The cost for a regular cut is $15 (long or short hair), I think seniors is $13 and I think a buzz is even cheaper?? For some reason, I always get the Asian lady, Lana. And I love it. Lana always cuts my hair perfectly. I'm not sure if it's like this with everyone, but she just knows my hair (because we're both Asian?). She gives her opinion on some things, and I trust her with that. When I got my hair cut the last time, I showed her the picture of the cut I wanted, and she cut my hair exactly like it. Not only does she cut my hair well, she also doesn't talk much --- which is great! I'm also that kind of person that doesn't like that small talk crap --- I just want my hair cut! I think this place is very much family friendly. I could tell there are some regular customers that come here all the time. I was watching one of the barbers (I think the owner?), and she looked like she was great with kids (crying kids, happy kids, regular kids, pouty kids, etc). There's only two barbers that work every time, but the wait time isn't too crazy. One time, I walked in, I had 3 males ahead of me, but I only had to wait 8 minutes (probably cuz they just needed a buzz or a trim). If you do have to wait longer, I think the time would go by fast, because they have lots of magazines for you to read and walls of pictures of historical Poulsbo, in which I am personally fascinated in --- so those things could pass time. read more

Very nice result, done quickly primarily with electric razor and finished with scissors (10 min, approx), charged $13 (senior rate, $15 regular rate) for my plain, male haircut, cash or check only. No conversation, wham-bam- done. It was a young man ~30 that did mine, and there was a young lady ~35 doing the other chair. She chatted more and took a little longer, but I have no complaints. Plenty of parking. First come-First served, no appointments, but at the rate they finish, waits should be very short. Mine was about 5 minutes. read more
