Since I had…read morenever heard of (nor seen) this salon despite living in Columbus for 14 years, I never would have gone without Groupon. I am incredibly thrilled that I did. True, this building has seen it's better days. It's clearly a throwback from the pre-gentrification days of German Village and you'd easily miss it if you aren't specifically looking for it. Inside, the salon is out-dated and about as far away style-wise from other salons in German Village as you can get. I'm telling you to ignore all that - it doesn't matter if you're getting the best haircut of your life. Heather is the BOMB. She cut my hair and did amazing partial highlights and topped it off with a fantastic brow wax for - get this - an additional 10 bucks. Her normal rate for a regular haircut is about $35 - which is a full $20 less than I would pay at the high-end salon I'd been frequenting in Grandview. Heather has my business now. I went to a bar to meet up with friends after I'd gotten my cut and color and THREE different women asked me where I'd gotten it done. I have never had that response to a haircut in my life. Please, please give this place a shot and book with Heather. Their prices for waxing, nails and hair services cannot be beat. If you're willing to skip the high-end Penzone glamour or the trendy-funky vibe, Creative Beauty may be your beauty savior. Update: I am downgrading my review to two stars. The last time I had an appt with my stylist, I waited 90 minutes before getting in the chair. NINETY. Totally and completely unacceptable, no matter the reason. Update #2: Heather is no longer at this salon. No other reason to go there. Avoid.

I had no expectations but wanted to love my hair again after I decided to cut my own bangs.... I know. First impression, the salon was in a cute location and has a nice vibe once inside. I was immediately checked in and offered a beverage while I waited (I was early). Ashley provided a great consultation as I talked about my concerns. She clearly communicated her thoughts and an action plan. I was a little nervous (you can't half step bangs) but trusted the process. By the time we were done, I'm back in love. The products used smelled great and had my hair feeling light. I will 100% return.

This was my first ever "certified curly hair stylist" haircut. Boy was it worth it. Had a cut and style with Destiny who came recommended to me. In addition to the cut, I learned all about how to take care of my hair. Destiny cut my hair dry and then gently washed and shampooed it and diffused it. She talked me through how to do it at home (and what I could do instead if i just wanted to air dry) Which products to use and why. How much product to use. It took an hour and 45 minutes but the time flew by. Not only do I have an awesome haircut but my hair is on the road to recovery. Also, I feel confident I can replicate at home. This is huge. She is the first person to ever do my hair curly and have me leave. feeling so good about myself. I wanted to cry with relief and true happiness. I highly highly recommend the salon. If you have naturally curly hair, you must try. I don't think you'll go back. The price is completely worth it because of the expertise and education in addition to the cut wash and style. I was treated as an individual and my haircut tailored to my unique curl pattern. Everyone I interacted with from the front desk to another gentleman who got me coffee, was so nice and helpful. Made me feel totally welcomed and relaxed right away. Destiny is magical!
