DO. NOT. TAKE. YOUR. WEDDING. DRESS. HERE. My best friend trusted this seamstress with the most important gown of her life, and it was a disaster from start to finish. The hem was chopped too short, the straps were strangling her shoulders, and the alterations looked like they were done in the wrong order with zero thought to how the dress should actually fit. Instead of taking responsibility, she had the audacity to blame the bride's stomach for why the dress suddenly didn't have enough length. Unbelievable. The bustle? A joke. She used tiny metal hooks that weren't secure, leaving the back dragging on the ground while the front was already too short. Completely backwards. On top of that, she constantly forgot appointment details, missed one entirely, and still turned my friend away as if it were our fault. And let's talk about the environment: her house smelled awful, her work space was an absolute mess, and the whole place screamed unprofessional. DON'T DO IT!!! I would never recommend Hailey for bridal alterations. I trusted her with my wedding dress--the most important garment I'll ever wear--and the experience has been stressful, upsetting, and extremely disappointing. From the start, communication was poor, and the quality of work is far below what's acceptable for bridal standards. She even forgot my appointment details entirely at one point, which should've been my first red flag. The lace hem was cut too short, and instead of taking responsibility, she blamed me for it, claiming it was due to my body shape and not her mistake. As a "fix," appliqués were slapped on, and worst of all, the buttons down the back of my dress are unevenly spaced, loose, and floppy. The back of my gown should've been a beautiful focal point, but instead, the craftsmanship looks rushed and careless. When I raised concerns, I was met with excuses instead of solutions. I paid hundreds of dollars expecting professional-quality alterations and instead was left with anxiety and frustration just days before my wedding. I truly am not one to bash a business but I cannot be quiet about this matter. I went to Hailey who was recommended by the Bridal Boutique I purchased my gown (they have since removed her from their list of recommended seamstresses for good reason) Initially she was responsive to text and seemed to be knowledgeable. Prior to my first appointment I messaged her to confirm and she didn't have the details we had previously discussed (should've been my first red flag ) I decided to discuss again my vision and needs for my dress, hem, bustle, let out in the hip and an off the shoulder sleeve (This being discussed in April and again in July) Her home where her business is run is in poor condition, but again I thought maybe she's just a busy mom who hasn't had time to take care of things. She waited until I was at my initial appointment to let me know my deposit had to be paid in cash she didn't accept any other form of payment, again should've been a but I agreed I could get her cash which she just told me to bring to my next appointment. My second appointment which was pushed back where hem, let out and bustle was to be complete ONLY a rough hem was complete, AND hips let out, the let out she did made my dress fit horribly on my lower back it was bunched and not flattering at all so she needed to take it back in to where it originally was. During this appointment her son came into the house hysterical that her significant other (maybe his dad I'm not sure) scared him and made him jump into the grass as he was reving his car up and almost hit him in the drive way and threw gravel. I'm in her dressing room hearing her son hysterically cry and shout and plead with her to make him leave followed by this man threatening this child to the point I almost called the police because I felt so uncomfortable and concerned in this situation. She told me she would need to order spaghetti straps from Etsy quoted me 27$ claimed she was ordering them while I was there then later messaged me quoting 54$ due to rush shipping and told me she would be making my tulle off shoulder sleeves. Two weeks later I message her the day before my final appointment to make sure all sleeves are there and the dress is ready to go, she assured me it was good to go and she'd see me at 9am. I show up to my appointment for her to tell me she had to order other sleeves and she doesn't have a date for when they'll be here but it says between 19th and 27th (my wedding is the 25th) because she didn't like how they were turning out when she spent all night, then corrected herself to all day yesterday trying to make. AGAIN after she had confirmed with me the day before everything was good to go, she tells me she will eat the cost of the sleeves and takes responsibility it was her mistake. I get my dress on she shows my MOH the bustles and as we are getting ready to leave she asks if I'm okay with paying the FULL price we discussed for services that aren't complete and with sleeves I don't know will arrive by my wedding day. At this point I'm shaking because I cannot believe all of the absolute insanity I've dealt with for my wedding dress alterations. I remind her, with my MOH present as a witness, that she said she was eating the cost of the sleeves and that I wasn't comfortable paying the price that was to include everything being complete and explain that this has been such an unprofessional experience. She then discounts the price by 42$ so I pay a total of over 500$ for minimal alterations with a horrible experience and she doesn't even know my name for my receipt I asked for... she tells me I've been nothing but "mean" and to leave her home. DO NOT RISK YOUR WEDDING DRESS OR ANY OTHER GARMET YOU VALUE TO BE LEFT IN THE HANDS OF THIS WOMAN. SHE IS ABSOLUTELY NOT A SEEMSTRESS AND SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED TO CLAIM TO BE ANYTHING OF THE SORT! read more
