I had my second shoulder surgery last year and was getting therapy at a local physical therapy office but was having more pain and felt they weren't doing much to help. So at my wife's suggestion I went to see Merin at Fit Infusion and was very impressed with her educational background, knowledge of body mechanics and style of therapy she used to strengthen not only the shoulder but also the adjoining muscles that provide support to this area. She focused on treatment not only to heal from the surgery but also to strengthen the shoulder without re-injuring it. During my therapy with Merin I mentioned that I had been suffering disabling migraines for several years and had gone to many Doctors, Chiropractors, had many tests done, yet nothing seemed to help and the Doctors kept feeding me more and more meds that only made it worse. Merin had mentioned when she first started working with me that my posture was really bad and that more than likely my posture was causing my migraines. So she starting working with me on my posture by strengthening the muscles in the back that support the neck and within a short amount of time I was feeling so much better with fewer migraines and no more Chiropractor visits. Merin at Fit Infusion is the only person that has really helped me and I highly recommend her to anyone with a new or old injury as well as just needing to get in or stay in shape. One of the things I really liked about her was that she would email me with a list of detailed easy to read exercises I could do on my own at home without even going to see her! I've had a great experience with Fit Infusion. Few points: Jen is a wealth of information. Things are explained with an equal dosage of science and simplicity which is really appealing. Beyond that, she's really cool - easy to talk to and funny. The experience is relaxed, supportive and non-clinical. I am based in New Zealand so the entire process was hosted remotely but it didn't feel that way - Jen is easy to work with and accommodates different time zones easily (better than I) to suit the client. My first really good impression that shows that Fit Infusion are no amateurs. Good use of technology to deliver services. I focused more on the nutrition side of things as I knew I ate poorly and needed some insight into things I could change to feel better/live longer/drop some weight. We were successful in all of those aspects! The approach was perfect - the focus was on me and what approaches I wanted to take; cold turkey/ease into the changes etc. I felt comfy suggesting there were areas I wasn't yet ready to change and this was received well. Bit of give and take - no "you will never eat this again" which is a massive deterrent when you're trying to establish a life change, not a temporary fix. There is an obviously genuine interest in Jen's clients'. I get followed up on if I go quiet for too long and gently motivated to stop being lazy. Really impressive stuff and it WORKS! I speak in past tense but I'll certainly enlist Fit Infusions help in the future and would comfortably recommend them to anyone interested in making some positive steps towards their own health. My admiration & appreciation for Merin goes far beyond any carefully worded review I could possibly write. In these recent months, beginning in March 2012, what I've found most rewarding has been the learning of fitness & nutritional facts to help guide my choices. Merin has a wealth of knowledge and information just oozing from her incredibly fit frame. She brings her warm smile and caring qualities to each session and no session is alike! Having had little prior gym/exercise experience, it is so very clear to me now, that finding the seasoned-skilled trainer is absolutely key. STOP LOOKING!!!! I can not recommend Fit Infusion enough if you are looking for a personal trainer. Merin is amazing. The main points you need to know are as follows: 1)She really listens to you and hears what you want to get out of your experience 2)She does not just teach you out of the box exercises, she is creative and always changing her routines up 3) She cares about WHOLE fitness and not just exercise. I had the pleasure of working with Merin at Fit Infusion for a year and a half. She is a wealth of knowledge and an incredible motivator! My daughter is a young newly swimmer, she is a weak tiny little girl. She was training with Mike and Merin for 4 months for dry land. She enjoyed the training so much because every training is always exciting and fun. The training is working really well with her and helping her got all her JO times ( Juniors Olympic). I cannot express how grateful I am for Merins help. She was my trainer a while back and not only did she help me lose weight and get into shape, but she taught me that a healthy lifestyle is the way to go.
