Last winter I enjoyed the club, but I am a snowbird, so I went on hold for the Summer and Fall. No one mentioned that I would have to pay to cancel, after not using the facilities for 8 months. This is ridiculous, so sick of being used. Run from this place, or work out another exit strategy prior to signing up.

I had paid for $500 worth of personal training for my older son and he did use $200 of that but it was so tough scheduling that he lost interest. The kids classes got way too big. So we left...and he would not reimburse my $300, then continued charging for 3mths membership as it was "policy". Something was definitely off and I was too sick from chemo at that point to keep fighting for my money. Recently the owner unalived himself at the gym when the swat team came to retrieve him for child molestation charges...we know the families and it's horrible. I imagine this wasn't the first time for him according to the other reports on here that were deleted. My heart goes out to the victims in this tragedy, all the kiddos that attended classes and the ones he molested, just terrible. You would have to be quite a sick individual to believe the way he left was the only option, zero thought about others and that seemed to be his pattern.

I've been a PF member since 2015 and have visited various locations. This one in Osprey used to be…read moregreat a few years ago. After a hiatus, I've been back and I have to say it's gone downhill. Women's restroom has an ant problem (I won't even put my gym bag on the floor in the changing stall - they're crawling all over the place), there's been glitter on the changing stall floor for almost 2 weeks now, and the hand dryer has been broken since at least late December. The machines are filthy (there are noticeable streaks of unknown spillage/sweat that have never been wiped away on machines for weeks), and 3 of the TV's are broken and have been for some time. Additionally, it's my understanding that there are 3 basic rules at planet fitness (with signage supporting all through the gym): 1. Cell Phone conversations only in lobby 2. No gym bags on the floor 3. Wipe down machines after use I regularly observe ALL of the above being violated and no one seems to care. Yesterday someone was having a work meeting on speaker while on the elliptical, there's a regular who leaves all of her personal belongings to "reserve" an elliptical, then proceeds to visit all the weight machines and just leaves her items elsewhere, and I regularly observe people use a machine and just walk away without wiping anything down :( EWW It never used to be like this, so I wonder if the rules are not being clearly explained or enforced by staff. Based on cleanliness alone (or lack thereof) management clearly doesn't seem to care. I'm now currently looking at visiting one of the other nearby locations or switching gyms altogether.

I'm not yet a Senior, but I also felt highly intimidated when…read moreI went to other clubs that just didn't really lead you around and it were so filled with people that were fit that I felt a bit out of place. This gym set me up right from the start with a trainer to show me the equipment and run a diagnostic on me to show me my fat / water ratio and set a baseline for me. I decided that I liked Becky and set up several training sessions as I was just starting and felt I would need some assistance at the beginning. I did do 8 sessions and it's gone great. I will be on my own after two more, but I now have more confidence in what I can achieve and a better understanding of what I need to do. Equipment is great and they offer a good variety of machine style equipment and free weights. If you're just starting, I recommend going for a trainer if you can do it. It makes a big difference. Yes, the crowd is older, and there are some in rehabilitation, but I've yet to have a problem getting on equipment and everyone is polite and nice. I'm not surrounded by a ton of physically fit athletes, but I'm not intimidated and it's encouraged me. I had done a water aerobics class which was fun and you really get a workout. I plan on trying some others, but I know I can only do evening ones. Unfortunately, my work ours are such that the day classes are not for me. IF you really want to do classes, I'd review that part as it may not be for you. If you want to do some aerobic equipment and weight lifting equipment and get in and out of a gym and feel like the equipment is well made, I would say this is a great gym for you. The women's locker rooms are nice and clean. Showers are well built with privacy area. Hot tub is really nice and lap pool is gorgeous and big. I'm buying swim fins to try and do laps next. Lots of amenities which I like that a lot of other places don't have like the size of this pool.
