They are clearly not training the kids that work here properly. It was extremely dirty. Ants crawling on the floor and ice cream/toppings all over the counter and floor. The areas behind the counter were also very dirty. The workers are practically on top of each other and no one seems to know what they're doing. Having side conversations while there is a line of people waiting for items. Ordered a milkshake and it was literal milk. We will not be back here. It was disgusting. read more

This place is sooo great! They have Italian water ice, soft serve ice cream, soft serve custard and a variety of gourmet ice creams. They are all great options and you can even mix the water ice with the soft serve. Yummy! The service is quick and friendly and the atmosphere is kick back and chill. Super excited to have had a chance to stop by as I hadn't been in a while. I used to come with my grandpa when I was a young'un, and it remains every bit as magical as it was back then. I got the strawberry vanilla twist custard which was perfectly strawberry and creamy. I also had a chance to try the pistachio almond and peach which were both just perfect. Found this place while searching for ice cream the other night. Glad we gave them a try. Everyone was craving soft serve. Custards seems to have an endless menu of flavors and different combinations. I went with the strawberry and vanilla swirl which was possibly some of the best ice cream I've ever had. We'll definitely be stopping by again when we're in town. read more

Jacked their prices way up this season. We got a small frozen yogurt with hot fudge and a regular size gelati. The frozen yogurt was so small that I can't believe they have a kiddie size below it. Kiddie size must be in a shot glass I guess. Anyway, $18.50 before tipping the girls. !!! read more

worst service ever. waited 15 mins with nobody in line. there was 2 14 year olds waiting on us and some girl in the back doing nothing. my mom got hers after like 5 mins and then people came in after 10 mins and got there's while me and my son waited 15 more mins. at one point all 3 employees were just standing there doing nothing while me and my son waited. all 3 ice creams were wrong. my mom didn't get whip cream or a cherry and they forgot her wet nuts. me and my son didn't get whip cream or cherries either. my mom took 2 bites and threw hers out. sundaes in ventnor is waaay better. the owner is actually there every day and hires grownups that know what they are doing. we will never go to custards again read more

When I think of a classic down the shore ice-cream joint, this place is it. Line is out the door and families crowded around outside eating their share. If you do plan on coming here, definitely walk instead of drive. The parking lot is tiny and seemed like an absolute nightmare to get out of especially peak time after dinner. My husband and I got the soft serve twist of classic vanilla/chocolate and vanilla/orange. The orange tasted exactly like a creamsicle. Mine was creamy but not to heavy. I forgot to mention that this place is pet friendly! We brought our dog with us and he made some doggy friends. Was a great dessert after dinner! read more

wanted to make this a regular stop on the way out of Ventnor. 1st time i mustakingly ordered the cannoli water ice, which was quite disgusting. But still gave it a second try thinking I picked the wrong flavor. Time to we had just vanilla ice cream with rainbow sprinkles and a chocolate banana hand dipped ice cream. Those taste tasted OK at first, but after a few bites, you started to taste overwhelming artificial flavor, and it wasn't even tolerable to finish the small size ice cream of either of them. I was in town for the weekend and was really craving for some cold dessert and came upon this. It is a small and unique ice cream place. There is some indoor seatings and outdoor seatings. I went to this place twice within the same day. I went after an afternoon at the beach which was around 4 or 5 and it wasn't crowded or anything. Then I went again at like 8ish and it was packed. The line was out the door but it moved fairly quickly. I tried the water ice and it was super refreshing for a hot day. I felt like it was helping me cool down my body in the heat. I had the orange cream and mango. The orange cream was amazing and the mango was okay. My bf enjoyed his ice cream as well. Their soft serve tasted great as well. Long lines, but was it worth the hype? Mediocre at best. Pretzel ice cream was the best out of 4 flavors tried.

It was my first time at this place so as soon as I walked in the young lady didn't greet me right away. She looked at me weird. I didn't know what I wanted at first. Then I asked her what chocolate ice cream you have with peanuts so she started naming flavors. I ordered the chocolate banana that she mentioned and there were no peanuts. I love ice cream! I stopped In on a Saturday evening. It was definitely crowed but it wasn't overwhelming. They even have a kiosk you can order from. I elected not to because I wanted to see the inside. U could understand the convenience if I was a regular. Inside is the line to order ice cream and a small section where people could it inside. The line was a little hectic with the amount on younger kids getting ice cream but I expected that Due to it being Saturday. Choices and more choices. I never saw so many flavors. I decided on a birthday cake milkshake . I love when places let you use hard serve for the milkshakes. The milk shake was nice and creamy. I was shocked when I realized they used cardboard straws opposed to plastic. It was a different experience. Not bad, just different. I'm not such how I feel about it, I'm all for helping the environment but it still takes some getting used too. Also too, there is parking! Which is a major plus for a beach town which normally requires street parking. I would love to return and try some other items/flavors. read more

Custard's Last Stand makes me reminisce about my childhood. I remember long summer days spent at the beach. Then, we'd shower and eat dinner and go to Custard's for refreshing water ice- the perfect treat after a full day of sun. I personally love the mango water ice, but there are just so many flavors to choose from. I forget what they're called, I think they might be flurricanes, but they're also amazing too. Kind of like blizzards from Dairy Queen but better. You choose an ice cream and get it mixed with some yummy toppings. I like to do Kit Kat's in mine and a chocolate ice cream base! It's a great spot and you can also get like really big containers (almost like buckets!) of water ice. read more

The homemade water ice is REALLY good! We are there every weekend in the summer with the kids.

The soft custard here is better than any of its local competitors and the portions and prices are much more generous. This is a winning, 5 star combination. The servers behind the counter are smiling and friendly and eager to wait on you. My dining partner is not a frozen custard fan but loves their water ice. I suspect that there is a secret process in how they make the custard that out performs all the rest. I keep going back - fortunately it is a 1.5 mile walk from my house to Custard's so I can work off some of the calories. Everything I have had there so far has been great! I had ordered a 9" round birthday cake from there which was delicious and very fresh. The prices are okay for what you get but the custards aren't really anything special. The worst part of my experience was the extremely rude female worker who thought it was appropriate to make condescending remarks right in front of me as if I wasn't there. Pretty good ice cream. I had banana chocolate in a waffle cone (I don't think I'd had banana chocolate ice cream before) and it was not bad. The only reason it's 4 points and not 5 is that the taste of this ice cream got sort of boring, overwhelming towards the end, and it was a regular portion. I never get that feeling with frozen custard, for example, partly because it's less sugary than regular ice cream.
