Casually writing a review while I'm on the elliptical here. I would say that the RIT fitness center…read moreis the best gym around Rochester. Yes, I might seem biased since I'm a student here, but I think many outsiders agree too. The fitness center is set up on two floors. The first floor is mainly for lifting. There are plenty of free weights and different machines. The second floor has two levels. The first level of the second floor has an open floor area with mats, different machines, and a jungle gym looking structure with different bars and ropes. The second level of the second floor has a ton of cardio equipment and TVs. Beyond the cardio area is a smaller free weights area and plenty of other machines. This fitness center pretty much has every type of machine you can think of. Besides the gym, there are a ton of courts for all types of sports, tracks, and two different pools. One pool is a large one used for swimming and diving while the other pool is more for recreational use that includes a lazy river and a large capacity hot tub! The fitness center is well kept and usually isn't too crowded, depending on when you go. There's only a few things I dislike about this place. First of all, there is no steam room!!! I absolutely love using a steam room after working out and I am surprised they don't have one here (but they do have a sauna). Sometimes it can be impossible to find a parking space when RIT is hosting sports events for other schools in the field house. Lastly (this is tailored toward all my fellow students that use the gym), that awkward moment when you see your professors naked in the locker room haha!

Though it's always a hard workout, the workouts are scaled for your level. That being said, no matter where you are and how much you scale it, you'll be wishing you were dead half way through every workout. Yet somehow you always come back for more pain. It's great. The only reason I stopped going was the price; it's expensive. The owner did give me a discount for being a college student though which was really nice.

The box itself is a tad difficult to find, stay left and go all the way back, when you see the tractor tires, you've made it. I will tell you a few things about Austyn Affronti. It was obvious to me immediately that he is a very serious young man, and he shows it by giving complete attention to those he is working with. You may assume that all physical trainer should do that, and you are right but it doesn't always work out the way it should. Austyn wants a great foundation, and what I mean by that is that he wants you to work perfectly so you will accomplish the most without potentially hurting yourself. I have now worked out as I said four times. In many businesses in the very beginning the person (The salesman) that's showing the form service is perfect but eventually some become lazy once they feel they've made the sale. So far I have noticed nothing but perfection. I hope I am right, I will let you know either way in the future. In addition I explained to Austyn I wanted to lose weight. Austyn created a menu for me. Time will tell how it works. But, if you look at the photographs you can see a major difference between people he has worked out with in the past showing before and after. More so those are real pictures, it is obvious these pictures are accurate and honest. They show pictures of before and now now. The pictures also show men and women young and older. There's a good chance hopefully before stars will become five. If another couple months it continues I definitely would go five. Yelp people we all love to eat. We also like to be healthy and look good. Try Affronti may work well for you too.
