I highly recommend David with transformation fitness…read more I am very quiet and anxious and doing new things is really hard. I really wanted to gain confidence in a gym setting so I reached out to David. I called and we set up a meeting to discuss goals and expectations at his facility. When I arrived I was so nervous! He was so nice and patient with my axiety and everything went well. I started the sessions and I quickly gained confidence being in a gym environment. Every person that walks through the doors are so nice, supportive and respectful of each other. It is a group setting, but everyone has their own goals. He writes personalized exercises on a whiteboard and works with each person individually. No one is doing the same exercises as anyone else nor do you do the same exercise each visit. David demonstrates the exercise and ensures proper form. He explains what the target areas are and what you should be feeling. He also rotates from person to person to give you time to do your thing but keeps checking on you to make sure everything is going okay. He does include tension releasing techniques/exercise's which is a huge plus if you have tension or pain in any areas. Bonus: He provided two meal plans. All in all, great experience!

My review has nothing to do with the instructors there because they are stellar. My review…read moreaddresses the decrease in front desk staffing, cleanliness, and studio politeness at the Fair Oaks facility. All have gone increasing downhill in the last year. I attend classes 3 - 4 times per week and on a Friday I'll have noticed debris on the floors and reformers that was there on the Wednesday. There's been a reduction in front desk staff and also lack of professionalism when they are there. It's a small studio and out of politeness for other patrons many of us wait to enter until the ending class exits. It's a small thing but doing so ensures that no one is trampled by entering and exiting. Waiting is not a hardship, though some may feel it is, they are in the minority. Please Club Pilates bring back sufficient help to run this studio effectively.

This review is not for the gym itself- which is lovely in every way. It is an about one class…read moreexperience specifically. This morning I decided to take a Pilates class from Melika. I have gone to every other instructor and I have loved every class- So Naturally I really wanted to enjoy this class because the workout itself was genuinely good and challenging, and I definitely felt like I got a great Pilates workout in. Unfortunately, I found some of the instructor's commentary throughout class pretty uncomfortable and distracting. There were several comments made about not liking when men attend her classes because they grunt and sweat too much, along with jokes about being unhappy when men are in certain classes. It wasn't just one passing joke--it came up multiple times, which started to make the overall atmosphere feel unnecessarily negative. I also think it's worth remembering that exercise isn't always quiet or pretty--people sweat, breathe heavily, and sometimes make noises when they're physically exerting themselves, regardless of gender. I completely understand joking around and bringing personality into a class, and I actually think that can make a workout more fun. But I also think a gym should be a space where everyone feels comfortable walking into a class, whether they're a man, a woman, or anyone in between. I would hate for someone to try Pilates for the first time and hear comments that make them feel like they aren't wanted there. At one point, the instructor even joked about being able to imagine someone leaving a negative review about her and said that she just has to speak from her heart. I respect being yourself, but I think there's also a difference between how we joke with friends and how we speak when we're leading a class in a professional setting. The workout itself was good, which is why this was disappointing. I left feeling like I had gotten a great workout physically, but the overall vibe of the class made me feel more uncomfortable than uplifted. I think the class would have been significantly more enjoyable with less commentary about who should or shouldn't be in the room and more of that energy directed toward encouraging everyone who showed up to work out.

I have always found the gym intimidating and working out a chore, but Angela has taken away the intimidation and created workouts that I enjoy doing. As someone who used to go to public gyms often, Angela provides tips and tricks to working out comfortably in a public setting. The workouts she creates for you have a variety of exercises, so you aren't doing the same ones every time. She also understands that you aren't always going to be motivated to go to the gym and has created workouts that can be done at home. Angela encourages you to listen to your body, so you do not injure yourself by lifting too much weight or using improper form. Angela demonstrates the correct form before having you perform the exercise, but also provides immediate feedback if she sees incorrect form. I really appreciated this as I have injured my back before and was scared to reinjure it. Angela taught me the signs that told me I was completing an exercise incorrect and was putting strain on my back. In addition to the workouts, Angela teaches you about how your eating habits affect you gut microbiome. I learned so much about cooking oils, macronutrients/micronutrients, supplements, and so much more, but it never felt like I was forced to learn or do anything. Angela provides you with the information, and lets you decide what you do with it. Unlike other personal trainers, who want you to be reliant on them forever, Angela wants you to be comfortable with working out so you can go to the gym by yourself.
