Security was sent to remove me from the pool after being told that I had "snuck in," which was completely untrue. As a Black guest, the way I was treated felt discriminatory and deeply upsetting. The situation escalated into an unnecessary conversation with both management and security, which could have easily been avoided if I had been treated with respect and fairness from the beginning. No guest should have to go through that. On top of that, the facilities were far from impressive. The bathrooms were dirty and poorly maintained, seating was extremely limited, and the overall condition of the property felt neglected. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment. Guests deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, regardless of who they are. I left feeling embarrassed, frustrated, and extremely disappointed.

It's nothing fancy, just a great place to swim & cool down from the summer heat. They have a snack bar a basketball court and tennis court beside it. It's not terribly large, but still a good size with a diving board and separate baby pool. They do have adult swim as well. Only open for the summer season from about Memorial Day through Labor day from noon to 8pm daily. They have a swim team called the Grafton Dolphins and they also offer swimming lessons. You have to pay a membership fee and then the annual usage fee's. Membership is $50 and then $350 for the whole summer season for the entire family. I'm not sure what a single membership runs. Formerly offered wicked high powered heated water jets in the Wellness Pool -these jets rehabilitated my spine and legs after major surgery. Now these rehab services are "down for repair" with no fix date. I canceled my YMCA membership when the Wellness Pool went down for maintenance several years ago, and stayed broke beyond my tolerance for ROI. As a cost comparison, a medical massage in FredVA is a minimum of $75/hr +tip. Somebody needs to invent a vending machine poolside: Water jet therapy for one.

They do offer basketball and other fitness options. The location is off the beaten track a few miles from the highway on a narrow road. Jeff Rouse is in a housing community. The financing was unique coming from mostly private funds. However, local tax dollars were used and continue to be for its maintenance. It was completed around 2016 timeframe. The surface parking lot offers adequate spaces for large events. The venue offers one of the most spectator friendly views in Virginia for swimming competition. Spectator seating for 800 is on the deck. The pool is a 50 meter movable bulkhead. There is also a 25 yard recreational pool that's used for warm up/cool down during swim meets as necessary. The pool temps were correct and air temps comfortable. Air quality good. The deck space is narrow which is a drawback. Lighting is excellent. A big positive is that pool and decks are immaculately maintained. The staff was great to work with. The pool is frequently used on weekends for USA club meets. So keeping it up takes a lot of effort. I hope to visit again in the near future, but currently do not have on my schedule for 2020. Jeff Rouse is a great facility and the local community of Stafford is lucky to have such a wonderful swimming pool to run competitions.

It's a nice size pool with many seating options all the way around. There are several areas with chaise lounges, umbrellas and tables, there are 4 cabanas to rent and many poolside lounge chairs. There is a bar with drinks and food options that opens at noon. The water is crystal clear and not over chlorinated. Water is a perfect temp to cool down in. It is open to the sky without building interference. Music in the background and a leafy fence to make the air conditioners invisible. There is a bit of noise from those on one end but not unbearable. There are also a few poolside games like bags, large Jenga and a sort of bucket toss. One downside is the lack of outlets and no hotel WiFi. Would recommend if you have some down time!
