This is a great apple and pumpkin farm. Had lunch here with my adult daughter. Food was unexpectedly good. Kitschy gift shop with holiday items (fall and Christmas), canned and baked goods. Good selection of fresh apples. U-pick trees are right outside the door. Great variety of pumpkins and gourds. We went at lunchtime on a Wednesday and it wasn't crowded. A delightful fall day.

Apple Doughnuts. If that doesn't make you go then there are Honey Crisp Apples, Pumpkins, handmade jams and cider. And then, there's pie! It is a fun place for adults and the kids I have seen there seem to be LOVING it! Give it a try before or after a football game.

A massively commercialized "farm" experience, but what the hell? It's pretty damn fun. You get to pick some apples, pet a goat, find a pumpkin, wander a corn maze, eat some AMAZING fresh hot apple donuts, grab some soybeans, or frolic amongst the squash--ALL AT ONCE. I liked it. It was cheesy and a bit cliche, and the people that were visiting were as much farmers as I (a Los Angeles transplant) am. But that's alright. I spotted everyone from a nun to a group of African international students to a Chicago businessman in the cafe eating those delicious donuts.

I love everything about this place. I go at least once a week to get donuts and an Italian Beef sandwich at the Flying Monkey Cafe.

Harvest has terrible produce most of the time & I'v received rotten fruit and veges too many times from harvest. But Meijer's produce has pleasantly surprised me,& even when I order via InstaCart I never have a problem either. I love the variety of produce products as well. I have been getting gorgeous oranges and peaches, nectarines & baking potatoes for example, which I could never find at other stores in and around Champaign. When Im doing In-person shopping at Meijer's, I never wait long on check-out lines & because they have a nice variety in all categories of foods I find many things I just cant get at Harvest or other places in Champaign county. Also, I love that Meijer's carts are for the most part pretty clean-not so at Harvest. The only thing is I wish they had a meat counter & dont generally by fish or meats from there. The cashiers are very nice & pack the way I ask them to & my deliveries are are fine too, never a problem and very prompt. This year I have made Meijer's my main go-to store & highly recommend it. (I never give anyone 5 stars,so 4 stars for me means very satisfied)

It's a weird and wonderful place, especially if you are into DIY oriental food, especially for my…read moresoft spot, ramen. It IS a grocery store in that it has produce, a meat and seafood counter, as well as dry goods, refrigerated items and a robust set of upright freezer cases - mostly full of items not normally found in the US. They also carry many American staples when those are needed in a pinch, but the focus is clearly on what's not available anywhere else in the area. That said all the produce is top-notch and beautifully displayed/maintained. The meat/seafood selection fresh (and more so) frozen is pretty extensive, even down to how things are sliced and/or shaped. Then there's the bakery which is past the checkout lanes all the way at the far front-end of this place (which is the size of a large Aldi's). I'm pretty sure I saw a loaf of bread or two in the grocery areas, but they did not suggest the kind of exquisite baked goods on display when you enter the area - in both the grab your own area (croissants, bagels, donuts) and the counter glass case (fancy pastries). They're not cheap, but also fancier then you may even find at say Martinelli's and my creme-filled croissant was an epically delicious mess! Without burying the lead for some folks, because I was there around 9 AM, I didn't smell anything savory cooking yet, but behind the bakery are several more separate food stalls that make up a mini Asian food court for yummy things like noodles, bibimbap and ramen. I hope to come back and sample them soon.

Store review: I am a fan of Ruler Foods! Since moving to…read moreChampaign, I have been searching for a place for cheap dairy and eggs. It is crazy how much a gallon of milk can cost at other stores 3-4 dollars compared to Northwest Suburbs where you can get milk regularly at 1.99-2.50. This place initially looked sketchy, but after going inside I realize that it is simply a upscale aldi with Kroger brand. Major plus is the acceptance of credit cards for payment. If you are okay with generic brand of Kroger than this place will net you a lot of savings. Yes the produce section is very limited and you maybe better off going to aldi, but they had eggs for .79 cents, milk 1.59 and 1% and skim that was close to expiration (about 1 week away) for only 0.99 cents. I have never seen milk that cheap. Check out is fast. No grocery bags of course so bring your own. Overall a great place for basic grocery needs that will save you money. Pros: cheapest dairy, egg, sugar, bread in the Champaign area Cons: limited choices, they do have name brand items as well Hidden deals: 1. Bring a quarter to check out a shopping cart, you get it back after you return your cart 2. Bring your own grocery bags 3. Cheap eggs, milk, bread

I've had occasion to make it over to this large bakery/cafe just north of downtown C-U for lunch a couple times and never been disappointed. Granted the food (including a couple fantastic side salad options) isn't cheap, but everything is made properly with high quality ingredients and well worth the occasional splurge. Although we have only tried some samples, there's even a fancy coffee cafe within.5 Factor in that all the employees we've met (including the delivery people out in the Central IL grocery stores) have been pleasantly passionate about their products, and you start to understand how they've come to stand out in what seems like a fading industry. That said, it also seems like the shelves with high end grocery items like exotic olive oils, Momofuku noodles, hard to find jams and other condiments, have dwindled in the last year or two, likely due to tariff-based cost models, but you are still likely to find a new favorite 'something' just browsing while they craft your sammy. Even if it's just a 'cronut' or a loaf of that amazing olive ciabatta or sourdough, it is becoming a mandatory C-U stop for us.

Maybe next time I'll try a sandwich or their focaccia pizza slices. Plenty of parking and lots of options for lunch.
