THEN, apparently the dentist wanted a very specific xray that my insurance deemed unnecessary and even dangerous. I literally had no other options because I stood there with an already botched root canal from the other dentist who couldn't finish (and i had to pay out of pocket for) and a forming infection in my tooth hole. I was out of time, money, and options. He would not complete the root canal without this xray. I almost left the appointment but in the parkinglot my friend reminded me that I was out of options. (This was the only procedure I needed the entire year and my insurance was supposed to cover everything I needed up to 3k. Yet I end up somehow going over and paying over 600 out of pocket total.) I grudgingly proceeded with the appointment through tears and was required to pay over 200 bucks proceeded. The xray at that moment or he would not procede. I was also met with surprise when I was required to give even more money for ANOTHER xray that he wanted because he didn't like the clarity of one taken just the week before. This was before I even left the appointment. To top all my financial grief I was just hit with another bill from their office! All this after my insurance covers ALL my dental needs up to 3k and this is my only dental need! And I even received a call just 2 days after receiving this new surprise bill because they'd like to collect for charges that make absolutely no sense to me but I'm told since the insurance has been maxed out that I must pay the remainder. I have EXTREME dental phobia as it is and was not prepared for the nightmare that awoke as the novicane wore off. You'd think a specialist who deals in these procedures could have prepared me for the agony. Prescribed or otherwise. Anything but that pain! Pain relief would have been nice when the numbness wears off. I'd take over the counter but I was definitely not prepared for that level of pain. It was a neaseating shock to say the least.

Dental work that is absolutely needed and not cheap. For a business that claims "Every team member has been carefully selected and trained to provide compassionate care and ensure a positive, comfortable experience during your visit" this doesn't seem to hit the mark. My initial complaint was lack of financing options for families and the receptionist told me she would call back by end of day to let me know if there was anything that could be done. Instead, the call returned was from the office manager cancelling our appt due to the "threat" that I mentioned writing a review or talking to the community. That's exactly how I worded it. No threats. Now instead of receiving any customer service, I am writing a valid review about how inappropriate it is to cancel a minors appt because the mother suggests she is unhappy. We as military families are stationed here with limited options and finding out there are ZERO payment plan options for high cost procedures besides delayed care or taking out credit (that may not be approved for everyone) was shocking. Most dentists that I know offer SOME form of payment options. I did not find this to be the case here. Lack of affordability aside, this review was solely triggered based on the egregious cancellation. A complaint is not a "threat" and using that as an excuse to cancel a medical appointment that a minor needs is something worth reporting. I welcome contact with the owner to know if this is how the business is supposed to be run.

I spoke to the lady in the billing department and she was very rude and disrespectful, I told her that I should have been told about it by a phone call, text or email that my visits were not covered anymore, if I knew I would not have got the last teeth cleaning. But instead they didn't tell me and charged me for it. When I told the lady it wasn't fair and I would not pay the bill, she raised her voice and threatened me that she would send me to a collection agency, so I just hanged up the phone.. They made useful suggestions for pain control overnight. I was seen promptly that next morning and given options for treatment. Definitive treatment seemed the most appropriate and, although emergency dental work is never comfortable, the professional staff and ancillary staff did their utmost for my comfort. A particular shout out to Dr. Connor, his dental assistant, and also particularly Debbie at the front desk. After the procedure, I was relying on the shuttle from the Marina to come and pick me up to return back to my boat. I was hoping to break a large bill so that I could tip the driver. There wasn't much cash in the office among the staff, but Debbie volunteered up five dollars for me to use and simply said "please pay it forward". The work was performed for a reasonable price, promptly and with minimal discomfort. I would highly recommend Laconner dental for not only local LaConner folks, but for anyone passing through the region who might suffer a dental emergency.
