Good curries We had dinner here on a Saturday night with our friends so we got to try 4 different curries and a couple of different naans. The food was very good and although it is a little more pricey than your average Indian restaurant, you don't pay extra for the basmati rice - and we didn't get charged a corkage fee for bringing our own wine. The best Indian food in all of Brisbane. If you're brave, I know you're not, ask for Chicken Hai-Hai. It's the HOTTEST curry chicken cuisine in the Land of Oz--guarantee 6-7 million scovilles. I'm being selfish, the rest of the menu has delicious choices to die for. The naan bread, i.e., that is any flavour, e.g., regular, garlic, cheesy garlic, etc., etc., etc., is eff'n incredible too. I have a great love for Indian food and this place is definitely one of the better indian restaurants I've come across. The pricing is very reasonable and the portions are generous. I often get takeaway but on the odd occasion I'll dine in with friends. The service is great and everyone is friendly. The restaurant isn't particularly big though, so it might be difficult getting a seat so get in early. Speaking of early, the place closes up a 9pm. If you're over 60 then you won't care but if you want to have a few drinks with friends and don't have to get home till late then you may have to find a different restaurant. Try the Korma and Peshwari Naan. Bad ass. read more

So delicious! I'll be honest, the name 'Curryville' put me off for years! Recently I finally went and WHAM my head was blown off, Curryville is insanely delicious! Hands down the best Indian I've had in Australia. Every mouthful delicious! Even the rice was calling me back. So far I've tried the FIREBOMBS, delicious battered, deep fried chilli, the LAMB VINDALOO, which was as they described, spicier but not hotter - oh it was so delicious! And the BARRA FILLET CURRY, not my choice but I was surprised! So tasty, the flavours were magical and seductive, I ate so much of this dish. I was slightly disappointed with the LAMB SHANK CURRY, the sauce was super yummy but there was a lot of bone and not much meat. I would try it again though, might have just been that one night. Finally the RICE was incredible too. So good you could eat it alone as a meal. On a Tuesday night you can pay an extra $5/meal and get a cooking lesson from the chef at your own table. I really can't wait to try this once Summer rolls around again, as it's available for outdoor seating only. read more

Curryville is pretty rad. Their menus are good for a light chuckle. And they have a BYO liquor licence which is cool. We had a largish group, and I felt the staff did a good job (even if it was a relatively quiet night). The food all came out at the same time, and the wait between ordering and food arrival was barely noticeable. We chose to pair our curry with Carlton Draught from the bottle shop across the road (convenience!) As for the curries themselves, everyone seemed pretty happy. The one Englishman in our party did not entirely agree that the curry at Curryville was better than in the UK as claimed by the menu, but he was satisfied with the meal. A few of us had naan with our curries, and those too were satisfactory. The guy took a fair while to bring the bill, but other than that Curryville is tops. read more

I was expecting a lot more, while not outrageously priced, definitely not the cheapest Indian around. The curries themselves were a tad bland and I didn't really enjoy the goat being served on the bone (I prefer a shovelling the food into my mouth approach which doesn't allow for deboning mid meal). Interestingly they didn't have a heat rating on each curry or an option to go mild, medium, hot. We had to ask for medium and I think were deliberately punished for our arrogance. read more

Great curry. You don't get the typical Indian here. The flavour is notched up one level compared to the general mass Indian curry that is so heavily Australianized. We had the non-typical curries on the menu and they are awesome. The portion of curry looks small but they are full of favours. You don't need too much of it with your rice. I recommend it. Compared to the other general Indian, it is bit expensive but this Indian is very different and takes the path not taken. read more

We ordered barramundi popcorn for starters which was delicious and for mains we had 4 different curries and spinach and cheese naan. All were great, tasted very fresh and got the tongue tingling. Great environment for a small store, very clean and comfortable. Service is good, and the meals were served quickly. Wonderful curries, will definitely come again. read more

I had been putting off trying this place because of how much I enjoy "A night in India" at Carindale. But Curryville IS slightly closer and seemed to get good reviews so I gave it a go. Their naans are generous and tasty. I think we didn't order well because we ended up with two dishes that were quite similar - lamb Korma and "tasty goat curry". I love goat curries but this one was a bit of a let down. The goat was a bit fatty and still on the bone. Lamb Korma was pretty good. We asked for the curries "medium" hot and they delivered well. That aside, definitely the second best curry I have had in Brisbane and I am willing to give a second chance with some different dishes. read more

The food here is great, the service... Could be improved. I ordered takeaway, showed up at the time they told me, and they said it would be another 5 minutes. It turned out to be over half an hour away. If they were up front about it when I arrived and just said, "I'm afraid we're running behind time tonight and it will be at least another 20 minutes", I wouldn't have minded at all. The restaurant proudly explains why they refuse to join uber eats - and I agree with their points, and support that. But, you have to compete with that. And standing on the street for half an hour, wondering if they've forgotten about you or accidentally given your food to someone else is a great example of why uber eats has become so popular. read more

I came here last night after finally being able to persuade my wife to come out to eat with me. Firstly, the serving sizes for the sit down thali were great. The curries were packed full of flavour, and had a real depth to them. It's BYO and at $43 for 2 people, the value proposition of this place is fantastic. I believe I made my wife a convert as well. Firstly, this is the best curry I have had since I lived in London! I generally avoid Indian restaurants, as I'm usually left disappointed. This was a breath of fresh air we were lucky enough to stumble upon...... and luckily, it's local!! The food is fresh, the flavours and spices are delicious. Secondly, the service is absolutely wonderful! The staff and owners obviously take great pride in their food and their restaurant. We had small kids with us who aren't used to the 'spiciness' of the food. The owner took the time to check if they were ok and brought out a small bowl of less-spicy/more sweet curry sauce for them to try and get their taste buds adjusted to. I've been searching high and low for the best Indian in Brisbane since I moved here a year ago from the U.S. What I've found is that most Brisbane Indian restaurants seem to be very inconsistent: one time making a delicious meal, and then the next time following it up with, "why did I want to come back here again?", and most Indian restaurants cater to the Australian palette which demands a lot of sweetness in almost every dish. Neither of these criticisms seem to apply to Curryville. It's uniformly very good, and not terribly sweet. I recommend the Chicken Balti and a Coriander and Onion Naan. read more

Used to come here all the time before I moved overseas. Returned home to visit family and stopped in for a curry, it was busy, the smell was intoxicating and delicious....asked for recommendations as to veggie curries that could be prepared vegan to which the owner said 'nothing, we can't do it, we tried before, they don't taste the same without ghee' -----ummmm seriously in this day an age you can't prepare a veggie curry without dairy? A LOT of people have dairy allergies it's not a strange request and of course it tastes different- we are used to that! There was four of us about to order, I was the only one with an allergy to dairy so because of the refusal to cook without ghee we all had to find food elsewhere. No wonder it smelled so good, it's full of clarified butter!!! Hence why other reviews rave about the quality- unless allergic it's hard to find someone who hates butter! Please be more considerate of a normal food prep request- not sure if the owners noticed but the place across the road was slammed busy and it does vegan and healthy options so obviously people are into cleaner eating too! read more
