Glenn from Kolb Electric just finished and did a great job. He showed up on the dot, was efficient…read moreand polite. He installed a great humidity sensing bathroom fan/light that works great and is quiet. He also installed a whole house surge protector and extra outlet next to our electrical panel in the garage. The total cost was much more reasonable than other estimates.

So I don't even know where to begin other than the beginning. I had lost electrical to an entire…read moreroom. Before I called I attempted to find the fault. I checked the last working outlet on both sides of the neighboring rooms. No loose connections. I flipped all breakers. I reset all of my GFI's So no luck I decided to call for an electrician. Just googled electricians in my area and I needed quick service because I work from home and the room that was dead was my home office. Kolb said they could come out that day. Wonderful, or so I thought. By the time the tech arrived I had run some power strips and electric cord to get some work done. (One to my GFI in my bathroom so I could get some work done) Although I explained everything I had done the tech did everything I did. Pulled every outlet involved and last working outlets in neiboring rooms. Found exactly what I had. Nothing. First 30 mins wasted. Then he checks the panel and everything is fine. So then he pulls all of those outlets again "just in case he missed something". Then he flips the GFI shutting down my computer and says "my bad". Then he decides he is going to check the second working outlet in neighboring bedroom (which was behind my bed..he almost broke my bed by yanking on it forcefully. I explained it takes two people to move and offer to help him move it approx 3-4 feet out from the wall) and when he disconnected the wire that continued the circuit both nearby outlets still worked. He then decides me needs to go into the attic. He didn't put down a tarp or anything so when he comes down from the attic he brings half of the blown insulation with him! But he did finally discover that the Geniuses that wired this place skipped a plug in the circuit and the one behind my bed goes up into the attic then drops and starts the feed for my home office. Wonderful! so an hour and 15 minutes later he finds the issue. Then he says to me "this GFI in your bathroom has power to it but isn't protected because it won't pop and reset but you seem very handy you can just replace that as soon as possible" I just wanted to get back to work and try to recover my lost sales for the day so I pay him his $187 and then I start to thinking that GFI in the bathroom was working fine when I reset it twice and when he reset it twice then all of the sudden it just stops working while he has it pulled out messing with it? Then I start to get really pissed because it is late and I cannot call. I decide to call the next morning first thing. I do and I speak to the "office manager, Lew or Lou" I explain what happened including the situation with the GFI, then including the fact that the tech left my bed pulled out 3-4' from the wall when he knows it takes two people to push back and the fact that he left blown insulation all over my floor from his trip down from the attic. Lou says he will have the same tech stop by on his way home today but he would really like for me to send him an email outlining the above. I give him my email so that he can email me and I can just respond since I was driving at the time I was making this call. He confirms my email address. I explain that I am on my way to a dr's appointment but I will email him as soon as I get back (before noon). I get back and no email from Lou. I call again at 2:30. He says he forgot but he is sending it as we speak. I NEVER GOT AN EMAIL AND THE TECH NEVER SHOWED UP TO FIX IT! I would not use this company ever again. First of all when you are being charged in 15 minute increments fast diagnostics is vital, secondly any time a technician is in my home I don't expect them to leave a mess, and thirdly, it seems to me that he broke my GFi outlet and then instead of fixing it tells me to do it and last but not least when you speak to the office manager and he makes a commitment to do something (email and send a tech out) he should follow through! Not to mention I made a verbal complaint....why as an already Unsatisfied customer would you put it on me to have to put the complaint in writing (although I was willing to do it if he would have provided his darn email! The only reason I am giving them two stars is because they did come out same day and he did fix the issue they were originally called out for. Otherwise save yourself the headache!
