It is located on the upper level in the middle of a walkway that connects the two sides of the mall surrounded by openness to the lower level, unfortunately, making it very loud location and hard to hear the cashier. Was notified via email within a couple of hours that order for Euro and GBP was complete. Drove over and found that Valentina, the clerk, had already counted out the bills and paper clipped them to a note with my name. Waited about five or ten minutes for a previously arrived customer to be served. Following the completion of my transaction, the personable Valentina and I engaged in pleasant conversation about my travels and her life experiences. I have to say the process of getting foreign currency was pretty easy. You can put in your request via their website and request the amount. If it's something not as common it might take a couple of days before your order is ready for pick up. I got a bit confused I was expecting maybe some sort of small storefront but instead it was sort of like a desk kiosk in the walk way between stores. The rate was pretty reasonable especially if you compare getting money exchanged at an airport. At least this time I'll have cash on arrival. read more

I had a very straightforward and swift transaction visiting the location in Tysons Corner Center. I ordered Mexican Pesos and was able to pick up same day. I received a call that my order was ready and visited in person to pick up. The staff person was courteous and provided necessary information for picking up as well as exchanging upon my travel return. The location is located in an open area kiosk inside of the Tysons mall which is the only reason I am giving four stars. The kiosk is open and the staff member speaks through a microphone so anyone walking by or standing near the kiosk can hear about your transaction (i.e., the amount of money you are receiving). Overall I like the convenience of Currency Exchange International in the area as many other currency exchanges are temporarily or permanently closed and this one is very accessible in the Northern Virginia area. read more

I have used this currency exchange outlet for the longest time; however, I visited the location today and had the worst experience. Their business hours ends at 7pm on Saturdays. I arrived at the location at 6:45pm and the guy was working in the booth said he already closed the safe and it won't be open until tomorrow which is wrong information because I have made transactions at the last minute many times. The attitude and expression he had was "I don't care about your business." He kept on shrugging his shoulder saying "nothing can be done, come back tomorrow." My recommendation would be if you can avoid this location to avoid bad experience. read more

The good: the woman at the counter was very professional, helpful, efficient and courteous. Our transaction was easy to do, and took little time. The bad: directions to the kiosk! Nowhere did it say in the directions or website that they are located in Tysons mall. It took about 15 mins of driving around until we figured out that it was indeed in the mall. After walking around the mall, I had to call them to to confirm the location. I was put through to the call center, not the location. When I arrived at the kiosk, there was a sign saying the staff was taking a break and I had to return in 15 mins. This made me late for a meeting I had later in the day. So basically logistic-wise it was not great, but once I got there it was very easy. read more

Went there on a workday to exchange some money. Granted I researched how much the exchange would be so I can request exactly how much I wanted. There was a small line due to an individual doing multiple transactions. At the counter I was greeted very professional and she apologized for the delay which they rarely happens. She even waved a fee because I was waiting for long. She was clear about everything she was explaining and with in 2-3 minutes I was done. Yesterday I traveled 8 miles in road construction & spent 15 minutes locating the exchange in the very busy mall at Tysons. There was no one in the kiosk & I walked around 30 minutes waiting for staff to return & finally left. Because I wanted this to be my last trip, I called this morning & was told they had euros & the transaction would take about 5 minutes. I had the same construction & parking situation today. I arrived at the kiosk at about 4:15 to see an attendant who looked me directly in the eye & never acknowledged me before she walked out of the kiosk. A paper clock on the glass was set as "return at 11:00." Then I saw a typed sign that said, "Out of euros and Canadian dollars till after 4:30 Monday." I left & will not be going back. Overall good experience here. I needed Euros and Danish Krone. They didn't have the Krone, which was disappointing, but not really unexpected. I thought the exchange rate was a little high, but no worse than the airport. The fee was A LOT better than the airport. I used the 50% off coupon, which saved me a little also. read more
