Terrible rates. Gave me the wrong rates over the phone and in person was a different story. It is a scam how much they charge.

This was my first experience in using a currency exchange and although I think it could have gone…read morebetter, it was a faster and easier experience than having my bank providing the exchange (this would have taken at least two business days and I'd have to be home to sign for the FedEx delivery of the money). I called and spoke to Mr. Yoon, the owner, a few times and went by his shop a few times when I was in the area, and he was kind and as helpful as possible during each interaction. He was easy to get a hold of over the phone as well and was in the store during the posted hours in which I visited. The only reason for my four-star review is that it was frustrating to hear that Mr. Yoon only had large bills to offer in the exchange, 500 pesos and nothing smaller. When I went by the store yesterday, he stated I could call and ask if he had small bills in and when I called today, he said he will not get them in at all... It would have saved me some time if he had told me this yesterday, but oh well. I will now worry about getting change while overseas... There are clearly posted signs in the store that credit cards are not accepted, but Mr. Yoon does take cash and checks (with ID). Oh, one thing I greatly appreciated is that I owed him $0.12 (which I didn't have), but he was kind enough to say I didn't have to worry about it! Since my exchange was less than $500, I paid only $5 for the transaction fee. FYI There is paid garage parking (under the building and across the street) and street parking near the store. Happy Travels!

I've only had good experiences here. It's only $5 to change your dollars to Euros (under $500),…read morewhich is perfect. Service is prompt and efficient, though he does step away occasionally. I'll continue to use this exchange in the future.

Well, he gives good enough prices when you are buying, BUT. I recently purchased 6 one-ounce Silver…read moreEagle Dollars, and 3 turned out to be FAKE! After I examined the fake Silver Eagles, I approached him the next day, he became defensive, beligerent, and aggressive and was reluctant to take back the coins. He stated that "we cant know that I even sold these coins to you, nobody took a picture of the coins next to the receipt bla bla bla" I even showed him the receipt and still he didnt want to give me real coins in exchange until I pressed him, then he thankfully [finally] pulled 3 silver dollars out of a mint tube and I could instantly tell the difference just by touching the coins. I havent been back to him since, for buying or selling. Also, do not ever sell anything to this guy, if it isnt valuable high value gold bullion [junk silver, silver coins and bullion, and even smaller gold bullion [1/10 oz, 1/4 oz]. I guess he sees the dollar signs on the sellers high value items and really wants them, but otherwise he will RIP YOU OFF his rates on trade-ins are RIDICULOUS and even if you believe you deserve more than 50% of the trade value, he will simply tell you "well people simply dont pay much for these coins" I walked out and refused to sell to him. There is a business in a nearby community that will pay you 85-90% of the coins METAL value, no matter what kind of coin, big or small, as long as its real, and no matter if "people" supposedly "dont pay much for these coins." This mean scrooge will offer you less than 60% of the coins silver or gold melt value value. Not retail, MELT VALUE!! That means he will buy your U.S 90% silver Peace dollar [Melt value of ~$12 @ 16.75 dollar silver rates] for less less than $9, and turn around and sell the coin [depending on the quality] for retail price at 20-24 dollars!! Over a 100% return on his purchase. Great job screwing over loyal locals..I can get more selling them on eBay, even with shipping and fees included. Overall, do not recommend. This guy needs to step his game up big-time, or sell the business.
