As of today, their website gives a JPY-USD conversion rate of 144.7596 JPY = $1 USD. I just went to one of their locations to exchange JPY currency to USD and they gave me a rate of 170.9986 JPY = $1 USD (a much worse exchange rate when converting JPY to USD). SCAM! read more

Called the number and the representative said the Florida Mall location opens at 11, not 10 as listed on the sign. CXI Currency Exchange International Honestly, this company sucks! I rarely leave a bad review for a company as I usually like to be a positive person and normally leave great reviews. In this case, I'm going to make an exception. 1. Even though I ordered the currency 3 days in advance I waited a very long time, just to get served (20minutes). Only 1 cashier. 2. On roughly a $500 transaction they charged a $10 exchange fee on top of a less than generous exchange rate. 3. There location provides zero privacy for the transaction so 10 people watched as they counted out the money. I was afraid I was going to be hit on the head and robbed as I walked to my car in the dark, parking lot. 4. They charged me a 3% fee to put the transaction on my Visa credit card! 5. After totaling everything up, the informed me I could only charge $500 to a credit card. 6. I asked for small denomination of Egyptian currency when I ordered it but told once I got to there location, small denominations under 100EP was unavailable. Grr. The entire exchange took way to long and the total experience was really frustrating. I felt like a loaf of Wonder Bread! Squeezed 5 way to Sunday! Last time I use this company! read more

I thought having currency for an overseas trip just at the onset is a good idea. I found out AAA offers "tip packs" which allows you have money on hand upon arrival. The agent there was honest and told me Wells Fargo offers them the conversions, and they need to make money off the transaction, so it is not the most cost efficient option. So I looked into other options. The Fairwinds agent referred me to this place. A check in deal with Yelp offers 50% off the transaction fee, but they need a paper coupon, not something digital. So, I used my Yelp check in deal for a free Florida mall coupon book which contained a paper discount, and was able to get the discount. I was happy with the service, and learned if I keep the receipt and need to convert back to American dollars when I return, I do not have to pay an additional fee. read more

First the positives...Caesar and his colleague were super friendly and competent including offering us a cold water. They handled the transaction quickly and very accurately. But WARNING: this business is in the Simon Guest Services booth with NO logo sign for CXI and only a small sign saying "currency exchange"...and if you're looking for an actual business you will find it by asking at the Simon desk where they will say "oh that's us". I'm kinda surprised by the photo below because if that sign was hanging there I guess I never saw it....but looking in the sky at banners isn't how I find businesses I guess. Gave me a run-around I placed my order online. The next day Stacy called to confirm my order. Why? I dunno, maybe they get a lot of no-shows. Anyway, I confirmed the order and she said I could pick it up between 3:30 and 10 pm. I got to the main booth in the middle of the mall at 5 pm. Now the last time I checked, 5 pm is after 3:30 and before 10. But the mall employee at the booth said the CXI staffer was on break until 5:30, and sent me to the other CXI booth at the east end of the mall. So I hoofed it over there, but the woman at that booth couldn't help me (because she doesn't have access to the online orders) and didn't know who Stacy was. So I had to hang around the mall for another 20 minutes on a day when I had way more important things to do. Gave me time to start my review, anyway. Oh, well. After waiting in line for another 25 minutes, I did eventually get my Euros. Anne was very friendly and helpful. And at least I got in my step count for the day. read more

Came in last minute to buy euros for my daughter's study abroad trip and was very happy with the service here. Ginelle was friendly and helpful. I went to my bank earlier in the day and was told that I would need to wait about a week for the money to get in and so they referred me here. She and the other girl working at the booth mentioned that it was a pretty busy day and apologized for my wait in line. I arrived at the counter at 12:10p (10m after they were supposed to open ) the young lady was still doing inventory. We sat and waited another 10m and I walked back to the counter. She was still counting money so I proceeded to wait another 5m. This young girl never acknowledged me at all. Proper customer service would be to say "I will be with you in a moment ". I finally had to ask her if there was somewhere else in the mall we can go to exchange money. She called another location in the mall and we went there without issue. My irritation comes because of the lack of customer service or training. Please train your staff. A yelp review helped me find this place, so I feel I must write one in return and help the next person, but the service was excellent anyways so...needed some currency for a recent trip and I didn't realize how naive I was in thinking this was something that could be done on the spot, found out the hard way that come currency is less popular than others so they are not always carried and have to be ordered and reserved days in advance, this was the case with my recent need for Dirhams, called every place including my bank and they all told me they would need 2-3 business days to get the dirham, I had a day! Found the review on this yelp page and one reviewer mentioned getting their currency the next after it was ordered, so I took the chance and called because at this point I was kind of desperate and dreading the thought of having to change my money at the airport! Or worse yet in Dubai. Anyways I was assisted by a gentleman named Grant who was very nice and made the whole process painless and stress free(cause I was stressing!) got my cash the next day, he called me up when it arrived and pick it up with no fuss, even got 50% off the service fee, he let me know that they would buy back my cash at no fee if I kept my receipt. I took a trip to United States, to Florida to be more specific to Orlando and Miami. I had really good times there. Those place are just incredible. They have really nice shopping malls over there too. And when i run out of the money i was really surprised that the malls i was shopping at(Florida Mall in Orlando and Aventura Mall in Miami) had Currency Exchange place there, called CEI(Currency Exchange International) they had really low rates and great location.
