Our group visited Toccoa for a day during the holidays for the museum/historical aspect and decided we'd stop by the winery on our way out of town since most of the group enjoys alcohol! The location is beautiful, and I think we'd have loved it more if the weather had been sunny/not rainy/warm, but with that said it was still a beautiful hillside (nice view of the mountain too). The setup is a little weird; it felt like the wine shop was set up in someone's garage and not really a legitimate wine shop. Their indoor seating was a little bit awkward and having a place for larger groups like ours to sit for a full tasting would've been appreciated. As it was, we had to crowd around a small bar table. The staff were friendly though, so overall it was quite a nice experience considering this is in somewhat rural Georgia. The bathroom setup is weird... again, didn't feel like I expected a winery to feel because the bathrooms are in a true 'outhouse' but they were clean. So that's just my personal preference. If the environment had been better suited to cold/rainy weather and had better seating options, we probably would've stayed longer. Not a bad place to stop though! read more

First time visitors to Georgia and we stopped at the first winery that caught our eye. We were drawn in by the live music which was incredible! We are used to a very different wine tasting experience so it was nice to be treated so great at such a reasonable tasting price. We had a great time with all three guys that were working and had an exceptional time with Charles who has only been here a few months. He is a wealth of knowledge with lots of fun facts and a great sense of humor. The wines were delicious and we took a few bottles home to share with friends. Absolutely recommend! read more

This winery could not be better situated in northern GA - they must have one of the best views around, and they aren't too far from the major cities either. Their wine is also pretty good, which isn't what you would expect from a rural winery in GA. We came here on a cold rainy day so we couldn't quite appreciate the winery to its fullest, but it seems like it'd be the perfect place to sit and enjoy some wine overlooking the beautiful valley and mountain. I feel like the winery has a lot of potential and I think they are planning on expanding, which should help, because they could really do with some better seating and wine tasting atmosphere. A legit tasting room would add a lot, and more abundant and comfortable seating would make a huge difference. Those are a lot more minor than picking a fantastic location and making great wine, which they already have, so I look forward to trying this again soon! read more

We finally decided to stop by here, and to our amazement it was absolutely beautiful! We met the owner, who is pleasant and welcoming! Had a fun time doing wine tastings, and I was pleasantly surprised that they had some dry ones that I like. we had dinner reservations, or we would've stayed longer. I'm looking forward to fall weather and going up. There is sitting by the fire pit with a glass of wine! We totally enjoyed it! read more

I stumbled upon Currahee Vineyard after hiking in the area, and I'm glad I stopped by! The wine tasting is only $10 to try all of the wines and an additional $5 to keep the glass. They have plenty of flavors that are all very unique from each other so you definitely get your money's worth and its well worth trying all of them! In addition, they have slushies that are made from their wine, and they're delicious and refreshing after a long day/hike. My friends and I loved all the fruity flavors. The wines definitely reflect the flavor that they're supposed to. I wasn't a fan of any of the dry wines, but I don't tend to like them usually anyways. My favorites are the Ole Blue and Sunrise. But I also liked so many others that I had a hard time picking which to buy. In the end, it was so good that we ended up buying a bottle to drink there and bought 2 to take home. I also noticed that the prices are very reasonable here. I've bought the Ole Blue from another winery before for much more. The prices here for a bottle start at $15 and $16 with only some exceeding $20. What set Currahee apart the most though was how friendly the owners are. They took the time to talk to us and explain a lot of their wines and the process behind some of them. They also told us about live music on Sundays and recommended we come back. And to top it off, they didn't charge any of us for our tastings even though we all did the $10 one (4 of us). Of all the wineries I've been to, I tried the most here yet also spent the least amount of money while still walking away with two of my favorite wines. We tried out Carrahee Vineyard on a whim and drove about 45 minutes to get there. It was most definitely worth the drive. The owner and staff were extremely friendly and helpful with our wine tasting and suggesting which ones we should try. The wine slushies we're amazing. The Ole Blue was a perfect mix of blueberry and wine. There was plenty of covered areas to sit and it was nice to walk around the vineyard and take in the views of Currahee. We left with multiple bottles of wine and we will be back in the future. Can't say enough great things of this place and the owner. Thanks for a great time. read more

Wonderful spot tucked away in the mountains. The view is gorgeous & the wines are very nice! I prefer full bodies reds over sweet wines which is more their specialty but the owner and his wife were extremely helpful in selecting some to try. I ended up taking a couple bottles home and 1 was even a full bodied red We will be back for a Sunday afternoon again. They had a bbq truck out front & live music which added to the ambience whether inside or outside watching the sunset. read more

Came here during a wine tasting- learned a lot and had a lot of nice wines. They have a lot of muscadine wines which are not my preference but the staff was great and very friendly. The food is also very delicious here- I had chicken quesadillas and a moist red velvet cupcake. The only negative was that we were outside under a tent in the rain. Wow, what an experience! I am more accustomed to touring and visiting breweries and distilleries, but on this past Black Friday, my wife, my parents and my sister went out here after trying some of their wines at other wineries. I knew we would leave with a few bottles before stepping in, but I did not expect to thoroughly enjoy the tasting. Danny was at the tasting counter and walked us extensively through several of their offerings. I found most of them enjoyable and even opted for a glass of the 3-Mile (a semi-dry white). Between all of us, we bought 2 cases of wine, more than what we expected but all enjoyable. Among my favorites has to be the aforementioned 3-Mile, the Very Berry, Ole Blue (my wife's favorite) and the Currahee Apple. Give this place a try and you too may walk away with a couple cases to enjoy and/or gift! read more

We had finished hiking in the Toccoa area and were on our way to the falls and saw this place. There were two tour buses pulling up the driveway so we thought it's probably worth a try. The place is on a great setting and the wine is very good. But what stood out the most is the owner, Marvin. We were lucky to have gotten there early so had his full attention. Went here as part of a wine tour with Cana wine tours. The wines were all very unique from one another, which I can appreciate since I'm not the biggest "wine snob." Everyone who worked there (from the person who helped w the tastings, to the musician, to the owner) were characters and helped us have a great time. My parents and I took a drive up to Currahee on New Years Eve afternoon from the Atlanta area to go to our first Georgia winery. I didn't know what to expect, but have been to many vineyards and wine tastings in the past outside of Georgia. Honestly, I was afraid all of the wines would be too sweet for my liking. Little did We know that we were in for a treat! This was by far the best tasting I have experienced. Tom, our wine pourer and tasting guide, was fabulous! He gave us a great lesson on muscadines and Georgia wines. We were pleasantly surprised to experience fresh and vibrant tastes during our time at Currahee. Tom gave us a great history lesson about the mountain for which the vineyard is named. He also explained each wine with great detail and care. Being a teacher, I appreciate learning new things, and I gained a wealth of wine knowledge during this visit. We expected to be there for maybe an hour or so, but we ended up staying for well over two hours. We purchased a bottle of "Blanc Du Bois", played cards at one of their tables, and enjoyed the lovely views of Currahee Mountain. The three of us ended up purchasing around seven bottles of wine to take home. Our favorites were the "3 Mile White", "Sunset, and "Black Diamond". We are excited to go back in the spring, summer, and fall to experience the beautiful views in all of the seasons. We would like to attend one of their dinners to experience some wine pairings and entertainment. This winery is still a "young" vineyard that is destined for greatness. It will be fun to watch them grow through the years and see their awards continue to pile up. Thank you Marvin and Tom for a lovely afternoon and a great way to end our 2016. read more

My husband and I happened upon this little gem of a winery at the recommendation of my mother-in-law who lives in the area. We're from Arlington, VA and are already familiar with many of the great wineries and vineyards in northern Virginia. I must say that Currahee Vineyard & Winery rivals some of the best places we have frequented up north. We had a wonderful time sampling their excellent, unique and award-winning wines, and thoroughly enjoyed the view of the mountains. The staff is super-friendly, and we look forward to seeing them again on our next visit to Toccoa!!
