    Looking over the vineyards !

We finally decided to stop by here, and to our amazement it was absolutely beautiful! We met the owner, who is pleasant and welcoming! Had a fun time doing wine tastings, and I was pleasantly surprised that they had some dry ones that I like. we had dinner reservations, or we would've stayed longer. I'm looking forward to fall weather and going up. There is sitting by the fire pit with a glass of wine! We totally enjoyed it!

This was the cutest place I think I have ever seen! The wine was good and the slushies were AMAZING! Even the bathroom was cute. I think they said they were expanding in the future but it was perfect the way it was! Definitely worth a stop if you are nearby.

I stumbled upon Currahee Vineyard after hiking in the area, and I'm glad I stopped by! The wine tasting is only $10 to try all of the wines and an additional $5 to keep the glass. They have plenty of flavors that are all very unique from each other so you definitely get your money's worth and its well worth trying all of them! In addition, they have slushies that are made from their wine, and they're delicious and refreshing after a long day/hike. My friends and I loved all the fruity flavors. The wines definitely reflect the flavor that they're supposed to. I wasn't a fan of any of the dry wines, but I don't tend to like them usually anyways. My favorites are the Ole Blue and Sunrise. But I also liked so many others that I had a hard time picking which to buy. In the end, it was so good that we ended up buying a bottle to drink there and bought 2 to take home. I also noticed that the prices are very reasonable here. I've bought the Ole Blue from another winery before for much more. The prices here for a bottle start at $15 and $16 with only some exceeding $20. What set Currahee apart the most though was how friendly the owners are. They took the time to talk to us and explain a lot of their wines and the process behind some of them. They also told us about live music on Sundays and recommended we come back. And to top it off, they didn't charge any of us for our tastings even though we all did the $10 one (4 of us). Of all the wineries I've been to, I tried the most here yet also spent the least amount of money while still walking away with two of my favorite wines. I will certainly come back for more.

Super cute family owned winery. We did a wine tasting when we got there and we were able to keep our glasses from the tastings. They also have really yummy wine slushees! Everyone was very kind and helpful. We ended up taking 3 bottles home with us.

Came here during a wine tasting- learned a lot and had a lot of nice wines. They have a lot of muscadine wines which are not my preference but the staff was great and very friendly. The food is also very delicious here- I had chicken quesadillas and a moist red velvet cupcake. The only negative was that we were outside under a tent in the rain. Had it been sunny it would have been an even better experience!

I enjoyed visiting this winery. Family owned and a few different seating options. This place did not lack charm and good ole southern hospitality and they had several different wine options.

Great wine. Great people. Beautiful views. Great atmosphere. I would say this place was perfection. Marvin greeted us right away and helped us every step of the way with the wine tasting. Every wine had their own story and were absolutely delicious. He has put his heart into this and you can definitely tell!! We ended up buying a few bottles and we will be back for more!

It is a small quaint hang out. The music was good. Indoor and outdoor. Don't forget your picnic basket. PeacedbyAlise

Although the setting is admittedly spectacular, acres of hilly vineyards with views of the mountain behind, and the patio was certainly fancy, the tables each with fire pits in the center providing cheery warmth, the tasting experience itself was sub-par and overpriced. It lacked the authentic feel I've seen in other wineries and seems more of a tourist destination. First thing I noticed is the shockingly high tasting fee of $35 for a flight of 4 2-ounce pours of their choice. No substitutions allowed! Either these are some spectacularly great wines or this is a major rip-off. I passed. But since I was here I decided to have a glass. I got one of their estate-grown Cabernet Sauvignon. It was around $16 but since I was here. It was good, but certainly not worth the $48 they charge for a bottle. For the $35 do you get individual attention, descriptions from the bartender about the wines and about their winery? No. You get 4 labeled glasses to take back to your table. Not worth it. Find another place less touristy, more authentic. That shouldn't be hard. There are like 65 wineries in the area!

Even though they were closed the day I drove by, I couldn't resist heading up just to take a peek. The 1.5 miles from the paved road is a slow, winding dirt and gravel road with heavy gravel, bumpy pockets, and some steep sections. I drive a VW Jetta (a regular four-door sedan), and it was no easy feat--definitely took a beating. It took me about 20-25 minutes to reach the top at a careful pace. I've seen reviews saying it's manageable in a car, but I'd strongly caution anyone with a low-clearance or smaller vehicle: this road is rougher than it sounds. Once I made it to the gate, I parked and walked around. Wow--what a breathtaking, almost magical spot! The panoramic mountain views are incredible, and the whole setting feels like a hidden gem high up on the ridge. I'd love to come back when they're open for a proper tasting and to enjoy the views with a glass of wine. Next time, though, I'll be sure to bring a vehicle with better ground clearance--something like a small SUV, truck, or 4WD. Totally worth the adventure, but be prepared for the terrain!

Rustic, charming, hand built tasting room with a sweet relaxation patio to take in the views and sip on some wine. Matt, one of the owners, was a great host, filling us in with the history of SAF, and his vision for the place. I really hope he and his family are successful. It's off the beaten path, but worth the visit. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is I'm not that big a fan of fruit/sweet wines, which is what they are known for. But, I will say that SAF offers many wines that appeased a moderate level of sweetness I can enjoy (I think there were 4 or 5 really sweet ones out of the 20 or so you could choose from). The Rosé Muscadine was something I could see myself enjoying on a hot afternoon by the pool, so bought a bottle. I also was pleasantly surprised by the Lemon Strawberry wine. They have tasting room in Helen also, but you won't get the same experience as the Alto location.
